Won't be able to make it this weekend, but definitely coming down to do one or two hillclimbs down there this year. I hear its an awesome track. Next event for me is hopefully June 21 at Rob Roy Hillclimb

I like the pic of your KE20 too :y: Have you got a thread on it? Toperformance in Vermont is doing them for me. I might have got a good price because of where I work so best to ring them and have a chat - they know their Koni's inside out. Where is your hillclimb track? Haunted Hills? Ararat? Some where else?

Stock rotors with the rear caliper off a commodore adding a little more bite... Whats worse is it was running stock struts too... no decent inserts, just the original Toyota oil filled shock. No wonder it looked all at sea!

Well I have some wheels to cover the brake upgrade. Come with two reasonable Yokohama A048's and two knackered ones! Was hoping to get a photo of them on the rear of the car, but ran out of time this weekend. Here is what I got Imageshack seems to be playing up so in case you can't see them - they are 15x7 superlites.

Tocau National Meet! June 6th - 8th [melb]

I have posted this in toymods for you guys. Hopefully a few people will turn up from there. I will come for a look at some point, hopefully in my "new" ta22 -
I got a Ke10 rubber kit from lilavadee in Thailand from ebay. I only ever got around to doing the door rubbers, but they were good. Boot rubber had to be glued on and I wasn't thrilled with it. For the money though, I think its a better option than Scott's or Rare Spares. Phil's Rotaries looks to me like he is a reseller of the Thai stuff - dearer but he is local - in Qld

13 wheels is why you are cash flow challenged!! if its 13 sets even more so :rolla:
-
It would be the brown one when I actually have a look.. since the white one is a KE16 :rolla:

http://www.tccav.org.au/gallery/dirt-event...a-february-2009 The brown one or the white one? Either way neither are on here, but are club regulars.

XT130 hubs are what you are after. If you search this forum or toymods forum there is lots of into on that brake upgrade.

Progress.. Thought I should check to see if 15x7's would fit. They do... These Rewinds are destined for the Celica... I want another set for the race car! Pulled the front struts apart last night. Standard! No wonder there was so much body roll. The springs were different lengths too - awesome! Going to get them rated later in the week so I know where they are at. I remembered I had a pair of Koni's in the garage for the Celica, so they are now destined for the race car. Will get them rebuilt first - cost will be some where between $130 and $150. Just need my coil over bits to arrive and we can get on with it :y: Oh and need to find some second hand 15 inch Yokie A048's. So much for that money I got back selling the KE15!!

There would be a market for a camber top for the RA23/28 Celica I think. Its different to the TA22 and is very close to the S13 Silvia. Most guys with these model celica's buy a Sivia one and then file out the hole a smidge to make them fit.

Decided the front struts need to come out for a few reasons: 1. I don't know what insert is inside them, and I have a suspicion what ever they are is very tired and contributing to my body roll and general handling issues. 2. Brakes proved to be a little inadequate at Sandown so I think its time to go XT130 strut and caliper with the peugeot rotor. I have had this sitting in the garage for eons. 3. If everything comes together in time, I might convert to coil over at the same time. So pulled it all apart today. Was easier than I thought - I am always a bit nervous about things I have never done before! Will take everything to work on Monday and rate the springs so I have some idea of what is in there, and get the inserts out. I am hoping they are a Koni like the rear is so that they can be rebuilt, but time will tell! Anyways here a few pics showing the removal: Strut in the car, with brake caliper removed. Remember to clamp off the brake line and then disconnect it too: Bottom of the strut - there are two bolts you need to undo here, this is where one was. Next step - undo the three bolts holding the strut top to the body Then push the control arm/sway bar down and then pull the strut out of the car. It will look like this: What is left in the car will look like this. I need to work out what control arm is in there and whether I need to replace it with a Corona one, along with the steering knuckle: Then using spring compressors I took the strut tops off and removed the springs so that I can rate them, and work out what spring I will need for my coil overs. Interestingly I discovered one side of the car had a bump stop in it, the other didnt. Very odd! Here is the reason why a Corona strut and brake package will be soooo much better than a Corolla one!

Sold it for a fair price based on the work it needs, and the new owner will reveal himself if he wants to!

So a little unexpectedly, and with a touch of sadness, this is moving on to a new home already! Its a good one and it will be loved well I am sure!

Thanks for the pics!

In-car footage of Sandown antics! Three different angles. First one doesnt show too much and is slow as I am stuck behind a V8 Capri. Second one is better, and the third one you get to see me have a little off and get blown away by big hairy V8's!

Well Sandown was interesting. I only got 3 runs in the day as there were long delays all day. The car didn't really like the bumps, and I never quite got my rhythm around the place and as a consequence wasn't real smooth. My best time was a 1.38.74 which was a long way off a VTEC powered Civic doing a 1.29.07 :) I like Phillip Island better! Anyways here are some shots. You can see the car is rolling a lot - time to do some suspension work I think. Meant I was lifting a wheel coming on to the main straight and getting oversteer. There is also a shot of a very nice RX3 that was there on the day. Lined up for an observation lap On the track Wheel in the air Oversteer as a result RX3 All photos taken and copyright to Neroli Henderson. Thanks Neroli!
