  1. My KE10 got more attention than any car I have ever been in! Hope that my KE15 and RA23 both generate the same attention when they are finished in the next decade or two :P
  2. Ready for a Sprint day tomorrow at Sandown. Did an oil change and plug change last weekend, as well as the front wheel bearings. Everything else looks hunky dory. Taken a couple of photos for my sponsor - Outlaw Welding - so he can see his sticker on the car. He is a mate that has done a couple of jobs for me. If anyone needs fabrication done in Melbourne PM me for his details! Last one shows how damned fantastic Autosol is... makes my wheels all nice and shiny :P Before After
  3. Running at Sprint at Sandown on Sunday. If you are in the area come and have a look, there are a few interesting things running!
  4. Noted :P
  5. Spotted green KE15/17 out the front of that good workshop in Oakleigh. Have seen it where I think it lives not far from there.. wonder if its changed owners. Will have to go ask :P
  6. ae86drivingclub web site has quite a lot of guys selling cool old school wheels. they seem to change their wheels as often as their pants, so some good things come up. Due to difficulty in getting them they are expensive though.
  7. Tuesday 12th May is our next meeting. Held at Bells Hotel South Melbourne. 7pm-ish for dinner and 8pm for the meeting. New faces and old friends welcome
  8. Great pics Gav. They could just about be twins!
  9. How big is the shed exactly Gav??!! So many great old machines emerge from it
  10. take it to a sign writer and get them to digitally print it would probably be the best bit.
  11. I know an excellent photo-shopper. Will take a little bit of time, but will get it done :) Can you post dimensions of those two? Will take some of the K-B sticker on my air-cleaner housing.
  12. The look good Gav. I have been keeping an eye on ausrotary. There are some 13x6 superlites on there at the moment that look ok and have decent tyres on them. Going to look this weekend if the opportunity presents.
  13. Now a question.. would a set of 13 inch superlites be sacriligious (spelling?!) or would they be OK. If I had a set of watanabes in 13" that would be even better.. but they seem to be hard to get in 4x110...
  14. No problems - oldies are better driven than stored away if you ask me :)
  15. Engine bay continued Some more interior shots Sun-visors in plastic The holy grail.. an interior light cover that hasn't disappeared! Standard gear knob Some exterior shots
  16. Well two weeks into ownership I have given the old girl a wash, a good clean inside, an oil change and a coolant change. The old bloke who used to own it must have been a short ass. He had some timber blocks in under the rear mounts for the drivers seat, propping it up about 20mm. No wonder it felt weird when I was driving it! A good wash indicates it needs a respray so that the surface rust is attended to. Doors have a bit of rust in the bottoms, but that is the only real bad rust to speak of. Drivers seat is buggered and needs re-trimming. Rear seat has a few spots where the seams have split, but can be re-sewn so all good on that front. Engine is going to need a rebuild I think. Pretty sure the smoke clouds are telling me rings are gone! There seems to be a poorly done repair around the rear boot badge. Paint is different colour and almost brushed on. THe Toyota badge is held on by three self tappers! So will be on the hunt for one of those eventually Here are some more pics... Boot is amazingly clean and straight Carpets are pretty damned good considering their age.. apart from the drivers side which is knackered. The little silver rings you can see are actually holding press studs to hold the carpet down on mounts in the floor - I don't know if this is factory or done by the owner This is a little tag on the ventilation controls explaing their settings. Apparently all the KE1*'s had this when they were delivered. (got to get rid of that clock on the console I think!) Seats are generally in sensational shape, apart from drivers seat and some tape holding split stitching on the rear seat. Engine bay cleaned up ok
  17. Think about it in percentage terms more than just power output. Its a 15% increase in capacity and there will be a corresponding improvement in power and torque. That is the easiest and cheapest hp increase you can do. Everything else will net you a kw here or there and will cost you $$ each time.
  18. Here are some photos taken at the even by Gary Hill of Elgee Words and Pictures
  19. Thanks for the suggestions. Lots to think about!
  20. Thats a good price if its all in good nick. I would do it, you will notice the extra torque of the 5k i suspect and would make it a better daily all round.
  21. There is information out there, here and on toymods, where people use a combo of corona xt130 struts, peugeot rotors and hilux 4 pot calipers that would slow it down nicely. I think this would fit in your car since its similar to an ra23 celica, but you would need to do some research to be sure.
  22. I think they are a lot like a RA23 celica chassis wise aren't they? 18R-c engine can be replaced with an 18r-g really easily. Suspension is the same as RA23 Celica so that can give you plenty of options for upgrades. There are a few done up on toymods if you want to go looking there. I know there is a Corona forum some where - www.turbocreations.com/corona/
  23. Your posts are hard to read mate - partly its your fully sik language yo, and partly its the massive signature block you have there. Might be hindering getting responses. My Ke35 runs a hydraulic clutch and is done basically as you have stated - the master cylinder is mounted on the firewall and the pushrod is connected to the pedal through a hole drilled in the pedal. Check that there is enough throw through the range of the pedal to actuate the hydraulics. You might need a custom pushrod if there isn't. I also would have though the push rod would be better mounted to the top of the pedal, above the pivot, but I don't really know why I think that. Probably just a leverage thing.
  24. Yes that was me. Louvre came from a guy on ebay. Doesnt make them for a 15 though unfortunately.
  25. So what is the solution? Head off for a service? Or something else?
