  1. www.japanesenostalgiccar.com is their website (fixed the typo) its a magazine out of the USA so you won't see it on the stands here lol.. benzo just realised your avatar photo is taken from their website :)
  2. Contact swmotorsport and ask, they are very good to deal with.
  3. Seconded. Good reading. Wish it came out more often :)
  4. Well I am home from Winton and had a great weekend. Did about 30 laps in my first stint. Went much faster than the benchmark I had set myself (my target time was 1.54 but I did a string of 51, 52 and even a 50!) Not so good for our handicap result as a team, but heaps of fun. There was lots of traffic - porsches, mustangs, a cobra, so it was a challenge racing with all the traffic. Only had one mechanical problem.. unfortunatetly its potentially a biggie.. oil pressure light came on a couple of times like it was surging, then was on lots. Hopefully I haven't hurt it too much but it will need some investigation. Oh and the diff is now noisey as so I might install an LSD instead of the locker. Here are a couple of pics
  5. Lots of people just undo the lines and let the gas roam free...
  6. people on toymods commonly use a vented peugeot disc with the diameter machined down to suit the xt130 calipers. that might be another option.
  7. Thanks for the compliments, I am stoked! And yes it is great fun to drive!
  8. Here is the livery in all (well almost all) its glory. Looking forward to Winton this weekend! Signwriter cut the roof stripes too short so he is coming back tomorrow to do them. If I had my time again I would make the side logos bigger, and the bonnet stripe longer, but its pretty damned good as it is! Really looking forward to Winton this weekend.
  9. hope you mean have the tank empty when using the putty stuff! welding an empty tank is a good chance to go kabloom :laff: i have read that the best way to weld a fuel tank is to drain it, fill it will water and then weld.. the fumes don't go boom then!
  10. hint - subscribe to this part of the forum and you will get notified of all vic events
  11. Photos show a good turn out.. well done guys. Who would have thought there would be two yellow panelvans on one cruise!
  12. What ever you do don't put one of those cheap glass pop up ones in.. great way to ruin a good car generally!
  13. Peter Robinson Automotive at Oakleigh. Knows Corollas really well and you will get good old fashioned service.
  14. Good to see so many new faces at the meeting last night.. more new /returning people than regulars hehe
  15. Other places worth a look are St Kilda for food, beer and perving, little Italy on Lygon St - lots of good Italian eating. Chapel St is good too for a look and some good eating there too. Can be a bit of a cruise venue on the weekends though.. hence earlier comment about VL's that are fully hectic bro
  16. Here is last months newsletter.. Toyotalk September 2008
  17. http://www.rollaclub.com/faq/index.php?tit...ont_Disc_Brakes lots to read in the faq...
  18. do a search.. there is talk of fitting rt132 corona brakes and or ra40 celica i think.. if you can't find it here then it will be on toymods
  19. Location is Bells Hotel in South Melbourne... i have no idea about public transport in Melbourne I am afraid
  20. Reminder the TCCAV meeting is on next week - Tuesday 14th October. Dinner from around 7ish...meeting starts 8ish. Adam
  21. Update - put the car on a hoist at work on Saturday and its amazing the things you find when you can have a proper look! There was a weird rotational vibration going through the left hander at the back of the circuit.. That would have been caused by a lack of bolts holding the gearbox to the cross member I reckon, allowing the whole thing to shift in the trans tunnel! The witness marks on the tailshaft is testament to that... d'oh! Worked out the brake calipers/pads are off a KE70. No idea why they used these back in the early 90's when the car was built, they are seriously not any bigger than the pads out of the standard KE35. Oh well, working on getting something better to go in there. 3 weeks to go until the 6 hour at Winton!
  22. thanks for the info !
  23. i would love to go to this, but unfortunately its going to clash with a tcca motorkhana that day.. i think i will have to see if i can organise a club cruise there one sunday before the end of the year..
  24. probably should look for a hot rod club at that rate.. and then you will have to convince them to put the toyota cruises etc on their calendar..which may be a challenge :y:
  25. ROLLLA as I mentioned in your thread on toymods, the Toyota Car Club of Australia (VIC) does club rego. I don't know the ins and outs of it to be able to ascertain whether your car would be appropriate, thats something you would have to talk to the people who coordinate these things in the club. I have been told they will happily do a club race car, so a certain amount of modification is clearly ok. That said the car can ONLY be used on events listed on the club calendar with club rego. If you are caught driving it at other times, the club loses its ability to give out club rego and everyone in the club loses their club rego too I believe. Hence why people are pretty cautious about what it can be used for. Club info is on the website www.tccav.org.au or come to our next meeting on Tuesday 14th October at 8pm at Bells Hotel in South Melbourne.
