  2. May I ask what you paid Curley.. i was the one that bid $1000 on it .. didnt think I would get it for that though hehe. Interested to know what they wanted?
  3. More than likely have the same engine and gearbox combo in them. Unless one is a 4 speed and the other is a 5 speed. There is lots of info in the knowledge base/faq section at the top of the web page..click on that and it will tell you can get more speed if you want it ;)
  4. Will do.. though perhaps that should be a privelege of membership? hehehe ;)
  5. I will put a reminder up closer to the date, but 9/9/08 is the next meeting after tonight's one. Would be good to get a few people there. Dinner starts earlier than 8pm (the actual meeting time) I think some of the guys get there at 6.30ish. Adam
  6. Update - she just left for the painters on the back of a tilt tray. Hopefully in a few weeks I am screwing her back together and it will be time to have some fun! Still looking for some 14 inch race rubber, but haven't been looking very hard. Will do that when its back from the painters. Target to be on the track is a track day on September 28 and then the Winton 6 hour in October.
  7. Hey guys Not sure if this is of interest to anyone The Toyota Car Club of Vic has its regular meeting on the second Tuesday of every month at Bells Hotel, at 8pm. Its a good club to join for any one interested in getting a CAMS licence or historic rego for their car. Not a big club, so we are open to ideas on what we can do for club functions etc. PM me for more info, or come along and see what its all about. Below is a link to our latest newsletter too. Cheers Adam Toyotalk August 2008
  8. Ran in the conrod supersprint a few years ago in a wrx. awesome event. the chase looks like it is 6 lanes wide at 60km/h... sure narrows up at 160km/h
  9. hmmm... get thermometer and check? i recall ke30-55 having dodgy gauges some times.. though i thought they just died and you ended up with no temp and no fuel gauge
  10. oh and when you did the head gasket did you get the head straightened/skimmed or did you fire it back in as it was? could have the same problem if you didn't...
  11. would i sound like a broken record if i said go and get the radiator looked at....
  12. There was a one make series for RV Corollas in the Australian Rally Championship a few years ago now (more like 10 I guess !) I suspect they have allowed a 20 valve in them so that they remain useful to people who want to buy a used rally car.
  13. yes good idea.. apart from the small detail of lack of rego :eatlead:
  14. its all good bowler.. i got what you meant :eatlead: i would prefer the weekend before... but that is purely for selfish reasons as i will be running in the winton 6 hour two weeks following the bathurst weekend, and will want the one after the bathurst for final car prep.
  15. October 12th is bathurst... sorry can't come... must worship at the Mount :eatlead:
  16. Last ones - thanks for organising the cruise Jono
  17. Here are some pics I took from the start. PM me with your email address if you want any of these in original size rather than these resized ones. Hope you guys had a good run down to Portsea!
  18. I am going to come to the Dandenong meeting spot and run with your down to Frankston. Then got to bail for something else. Looking forward to meeting you guys :)

  21. Good looking car !
  22. I like this thread.. sadly my place is not so updated in Melbourne. House was built about two years ago.. whereis shows a timber frame... google shows the tilers at work putting the tiles on the roof. Kinda cool as I only saw the place when it was all completed! How do people save the photos?
  23. You would be staggered how much current the demisters draw. Could well be as much as everything else put together. Still sounds like an alternator not keeping up with the power requirements. Try either a reco one or bigger amp alternator.
