  1. In Victoria the club is also penalised if a member does the wrong thing - the club can lose its permission to authorise club/historic plates and every club member using the plates gets them removed as well. Pretty big incentive to do the right thing!
  2. I have been told hot soapy water and a half a cup of rice will do the trick. Shake the sh*t out of it with the rice sealed inside and it cleans out all the corners...
  3. Hi all SA people Posting for one of the guys (bigworm) from Toymods..keep your eyes out please! Yep, it's true.... I've been avoiding posting it here as I was in denial & hoping it would turn up & I'd have the whole 'stolen & recovered' story, but it's not looking so good, although it is still early days..... Tuesday 24th of Feb, 3.45am, at a mates house in Highbury (20min N/E of Adelaide) my Celica was stolen. It has Black on Yellow NSW no plates, AW-00-FY and looks like this: EDIT: REWARD OF $1000 FOR INFORMATION LEADING TO THE RETURN OF THIS CAR, CALL ME, JOEL ON 0403 441 141. ANY CALLS WILL BE KEPT STRICTLY CONFIDENTIAL. It now has silver 5 spoke wheels, 16" front & 17" rear. If you see it, hear about it, are offered any orange Celica or 4AG/TE parts for sale, please call myself, JOEL, on 0403 441 141 and/or the POLICE on 131 444. I've owned this car for almost 10 years now (as alot of you will know as it's constant evolution was thanks to & recorded on this forum) and have changed/modified/upgraded/cleaned/polished/replaced over that period almost every part on the car, most of them more than once. The parts on this car are pretty distinctive & should be easily recognised, if it wasn't polished it was painted, & most of it was custom suited to the car/engine/drivetrain/suspension/brake combination. The easy bits to get rid of would be the Autronic SMC, Autronic CDI, Blitz SBC iD-III, Garrett GT2560RS (to suit GTR) turbo, ARE 400x300x75 intercooler, R33 Skline calipers (bright yellow with Nissan filed off), and maybe the wheels, the rear were 17x9" silver 5 spoke volks, ordinary condition, fronts were 16x8" silver 5 spoke prosudios or something like that, good condition. Everything else is Celica/Toyota specific.
  4. Victoria's rules for club rego are determined by Vicroads generally, not the club. They insist that the event you are driving to/at is tabled on the club calendar and of course your car has to be 25 years plus old, and in a road worthy state. That said different clubs have different approaches on what kind of car you can put on historic plates. TCCA here in Victoria will allow some mods as long as the car is safe for use on public roads, but many clubs insist the car is all original.
  5. My KE35 race car with 2tg has the same set-up as reddwarf has shown. It gives some clearance to the carbys, though not much!
  6. Orange and Dark Green (British Racing Green) look sensational on KE20's I reckon
  7. Here are a couple of pics from the day. Need a bigger zoom! Got faster as the day went on - first session i did a very slow 2.12.4, my fourth session I did a 2.07.6 - still got plenty of time in me still too. No dramas for me which was great. Can't say the same for a guy in an Evo road car who put it on its lid and wrote it off...poor bugger.
  8. Off to Phillip Island on Sunday for a Sprint meeting. Should be lots of fun, though am quietly sh*tting myself as its a damned fast track. Hope the old girl behaves herself! Didn't end up putting the rear discs on, decided I would leave it as is for this meeting so its a known quantity. Will post some pics up after the weekend.
  9. all toyota wheels from that era will fit, so supra is the go. there are some nice corona multispoke wheels around too. also datsun wheels from that era, and maybe mistubishi too - i recall starion wheels on a couple of toyotas looking nice.
  10. most old school carby's only require 3-4 psi. any more and they flood and don't idle either
  11. Looks sensational with those wheels. Glad it went to an ethusiast !
  12. I reckon this one is in the too hard basket.. the yard next door has a weekly viewing and then dealers put in a "tender" with their best price for the car. Have to be a registered dealer to participate, or know one who will do the bidding for you...
  13. will chase details up and post them ...
  14. ok ... well.. a ke series 4 door wagoon with square headlights just like a ke55 :P
  15. hey all vic people... spotted a ke55 4 door wagon in a wholesale yard next to work.. if anyone is after a wagon i can try and get some details for you... let me know
  16. Bump up the top.. this is on again next Tuesday people in South Melbourne - Bells Hotel - 8pm. If you are looking for a car club that is Toyota oriented and motorsport oriented we might be for you!
  17. Having had a few of these in my youth, I can confirm its a common fault - and I think its in the gauge. I never got around to fixing mine though so I don't know what the problem is - check the FAQ - it might be in there?
  18. Depends where you are in Melbourne, but I would try a wreckers first. Shouldnt cost you too much to replace. Would be worth just checking the price from Toyota too, some times parts are weirdly cheap.
  19. Update time.. for the first time in months I had a good look at the car. Oil pressure light wasn't the oil pressure light at all. When I traced the wire back to the light I discovered that what I thought was the oil pressure warning light was actually the alternator light. D'oh! Best I label them me thinks. Anyways a fiddle with the wiring on the alternator made the light go away, so all good on that front. Pulled the axles and diff centre out so I can replace all the bearings. While I am there I think I might fit the RT142 corona rear discs I have for her.. seems like the ideal time really.
  20. my cruise is going to have to change dates.. my brother decided to have his bucks night that weekend!

  22. Very nice! Welcome
