  1. That's a very neat lookin ke20 trav. You in SA??
  2. I can't stand when there is a car for sale in the 'for sale' section with a very reasonable price. Then some douchebag with no posts under his belt throws a very unreasonable lowball offer and says he'll pay in cash. What else are you gonna pay with?? Credit?? I know you can pay a cheque but who would honestly bother when it's $1300?
  3. The only thing I dislike about these hubcaps are they are a bitch to clean once you start getting brake dust and dirt on them. I'd know, there was a mustang at my old work that used to run them. Mind you they were a wheel, not a hubcap. So maybe these won't get quite as dirty.
  4. Well I'm hoping to have her in primer over the christmas break. So I'm guessing next month she'll have some paint on her.
  5. So I was trying to find the name of the colour that I want to throw on this little beauty and after some investigating, I found it. It's called 'Ford Breeze'. Here is a picture of the colour on a Nissan Stagea which I think is a damn sexy colour and would suit a ke30 to the T. Let me know what you guys think of it.
  6. I'm plannin on doin my ke55 with all 2pac, eg. primer, base and clear. Gonna cost me a fair chunk out of my wallet but the quality of the paint job will come up tops. What brand primer did you use??
  7. Haha, best name for a rocker cover ever!!
  8. Hey Gav. You said you didn't know of any other Corona RT72 coupes still registered. Well I do, it's been in my family since 1975 and is still registered to this day but has not been driven in many years. I didn't realise it was the same as yours. Been kept in a shed by my great uncle and apparently one day I might be inheriting it. I'm still yet to see it in the flesh but my dad tells me that it is yellow, with a black vinyl roof and black interior, mag wheels and a 5 speed. Apparently when my uncle was driving it years ago he was going so fast he broke the amphometer which was an old fashion radar system. I was reading up on these things and apparantely these things could reach 200km/h and do a quarter mile in 16.60 seconds. Pretty impressive for a late 60's car really. According to my great uncle, only a very limited amount of these corona's came out to Australia, as in under 10. But that might be just the model thats in my family as apparently it's a sports package of some sort and has a sports dash of some kind. Anyway, I'll be heading up to my great uncles property some time soon and I'll take some pics of it and share with ya. Would be awesome to have two very rare corona's reunited through rollaclub aye?
  9. Got it all sorted. Just un-hooked the cable from the clutch pedal. But then I had another major issue. I was up to the last bellhousing bolt which just happened to be a starter motor bolt, and for some reason it was extremely tight and so the head of the bolt just stripped straight away. So me and my dad spent about an hour trying to figure out how to get this bloody bolt out. Ended up having to undo the cross member so that the rear of the gearbox dropped down a little so we could drill the head off the bolt. That did the trick and the gearbox pretty much fell into our laps lol. So now I've finally got everything out from underneath the car so it's just down to cleaning it all up and spray painting it with chassis black.
  10. That corona is soooo sexy. Great little collection you have there.
  11. So I'm in the middle of taking out the gearbox right now, but I'm having one issue, the f*cking clutch cable! It's different from the ones I've seen on all the other rolla's i've had to remove the gearbox from. It seems like it's had a new cable put in by the previous owner. There is a rubber bung that's stopping the fork linkage from coming off. Anyone had this issue before? How did you remove it? I wanna take the gearbox out so I can paint inside the gearbox tunnel.

    Spotted

Spotted a clean as Corona Mark II sedan on south road this morning. Was being driven by some elderly bloke. Then on my way home I saw an old Crown Super Saloon being driven by an even older bloke. Thing was very very clean.
  13. Ok so I took out the diff and rear leaf springs tonight. Gonna take out the exhaust tomorrow arvo. Then I'm going to start cleaning up everything underneath to make it ready for paint. After the entire underneath is complete, that's when I'll start working on all my panels and body work. I'm also thinking that maybe in the future I'll either get an efi kit for this thing, or twin side-drafts. Opinions on which one would be highly appreciated. Quick question, is there a gasket inbetween the diff and diff housing?? If there is, mine definitely needs replacing. Cheers, Jason
  14. I don't really think they suit the 'theme' your goin for IMO. Maybe a differnet type of fender mirrors would look alright, but those ones just look a little odd. But it's up to you and what you're goin for :P
  15. I definitely need to borrow that compressor aye ryan. I use mine for 5 seconds and it begins to lose pressure. Cheap piece of rubbish. So you're painting this in acrylic yea?
  16. Yea, I'll be taking out the stock exhaust this week some time, along with the rear leaves and diff. So once I have it taken out I'll let you know. Gonna be painting the diff in a 2pak black. Apparently the paint that I'll be using dries as hard as a rock so it's perfect for everything underneath.
  17. Ok so today I was pretty busy workin on the car. Here's some before and after shots of the inner guard area: Was pretty easy to do. Bought some k&h spray on deadener and just cleaned the little bit of surface rust and go over everything with wax and grease remover and then it was straight forward. Just sprayed it on. Came up a million bucks too.
  18. Rollin up to school formal in a ke55 corolla = EPIC WIN I had to put up with a lame Chrysler 300C limousine.
  19. I've already got lowered springs in it but the shockers need replacing. So if we fit mr2 shockers in the strut then yes, i will have the right amount of stroke for the spring that I already have. Ryan, did you use a cheap brand of stone guard??
  20. Looks promising: LINK It's a second hand bumper some guy has for sale in the phillipines. For about $30.
  21. Ok so I signed up to the website and sent him an email asking for him to send a picture of the actual bumper he has. I also figured out that 2500php equals about $58. Which is bloody cheap if you ask me. I'll post with further confirmation.
  22. So I wonder if there is any way of contacting these people and maybe getting them to email a picture of the actual bumper. I'll see what I can do.
  23. Ok so i've got the struts out and will be taking them to Pedders tomorrow so my mates dad can have a browse and see what we can do to get the best possible suspension. Hopefully will be getting the rear quarter welded in some time this weekend. Will take pictures and post them up for all to see.
  24. But it's unusual because it says on the site, 76-78. Hmmm :D
  25. Exactly what I was thinking. Looks like it could be ke70 or te71? It's so hard to tell with such a crappy picture.
