Tccav Cars, Coffee And Donuts June 19Th 2011
carbonboy replied to viccelicara28's topic in VIC / Melbourne
I just returned from a recce-run down to the Leaping Lizard after work, it's changed a bit since I was last there . So regarding my heads up: A large section of the road inside Brimbank Park has been replaced recently (nice & smooth) & all the speed humps are well marked with white paint, so you can't miss them! :no2: -
Me = Lost... :lmao: WGMG - Walking around Bunnings in my work clothes (blue shirt, blue/black pants) & having multiple people come up & ask me where to find things... Am I wearing a Bunnings uniform? No, so go find one of the people wearing a bright RED shirt with the Bunnings logo & a nametage & ask them

As an avid fan of the 4AGE's I cannot be happier that you changed your mind about the SR20! Full Toyota for the win! :) Fantastic efforts so far mate :y: Your ol' man has shown you well, make sure your Rolla looks better than his car just to show him how much you've learnt!

I know, I know *hands up in surrender* The grass helps too

Legal height would be the same as any other passenger vehicle in your state. Check with your authorities guidelines, I'm in Vic so can't help you with South Australia. Google is your friend :) Or jono1986 might be able to point you in the right direction

Please tell me there's an engineer involved in this...as it does sound like an interesting idea  If it's not destined for road use, bring on the grinder/gas-axe! :laff:

Amen... In year 9 at high school I went on an exchange program to our sister school in Japan. Upon arrival I discovered that I was the only one who didnt know their host as I'd been unable to accomodate someone on their trip here :( At least it was easy to find them, look for people looking as lost as I was. Their English was basic & my Japanese was worse, however, since charades is the universal language, we managed. For two weeks I was essentially adopted as one of their own & discovered that although their way of life is so different & seemingly strange (their toilets arent THAT bad) compared to our own, it actually works quite well. For instance, despite the fact that niether of us spoke the others language all that well, my new classmates literally dragged me onto the basketball court once they discovered I could play. My classmates who spoke my language were more partial to hurling abuse & the ball at my head *meh* It will get to the point one day where I'm so fed up with this country that I pack my gear & head there, radiation be damned! Think of that kinda stuff happening to Australia & imagine what'd happen to OUR society. :hmm: For instance, put a vending machine that distributes cans of beer or packets of cigarettes (without ANY form of ID check, you could pay cash & not have to use a credit card :blinks:) here in a public place (i.e city centre) & watch how many underage kids beat each other to break into it first. I didnt see this happen in Japan, I'm not saying that Japan's perfect (whaling 'research' anyone?) but how I wish OUR society could pull its head out of it's southern-cross tattooed buttocks & take some tips from a culture (not necessarily Japanese) that has been doing things for hundreds, if not thousands of years longer than we have & with more people? If we can do that, then we can work on changing Americans attitudes :P (better luck with that than raising their IQ levels ) Sorry, I have no idea where that rant came from, I need some work-on-car time :(

Fixed? :D

*Currently packing bags/cars*

It'll become blatantly obvious if/when you take out another car/wrap it around a pole by doing it on the street...
-
To know what parts you'll need & what you'll need to do, you'll need someone who's done this. Have you seen any KE30 *insert engine here* drift cars? Besides all of the above mentioned, sans TF&TF collection :laff: Drift cars & street legal usually go together in a sentence in about the same way as (standard) rotary engine, fuel economy & reliability :P

You're a shocker... :lolcry: Damn straight you do!! Any woman who makes her 2004 Lexus live outside for the welfare of an elderly Corona...if you hadnt already married her I'd be making you! :P I might have to swing by this weekend perhaps? :hmm: If you need me to bring anything, just let me know! :y:

Aww...who says romance is dead :laff: Go team go! :) I don't know if I would go interstate for a woman, but if it feels right what the heck?
-
I love your attitude! Your thread's fantastic reading, keep up the awesome work! :y: I got to the first photos of the head & quad throttle bodies (remembered turbo plan) & nearly wet myself! Was also oblivious to the actual engine until then

I'm going to go safe here & say I have to be back the Tuesday afternoon at the latest :( Unless I hitch a lift up & fly back, I'm out :sob: -
Cheers mate(if you think this is a lot, check out the AE82 sedan by RollaBus_4AGZE (I think that's the username). That car is nucking futs! 8/ ), nice work on the radiator support, I guess you know your way around metalwork? I'm just a newbie so everything takes me ages but it gets done & I'm not paying money I can't afford for someone else to :) The motorvation comes from getting into my 2AC AE80 & just going "urgh". It's like driving a HSV Clubsport R8 then driving an Acclaim/Berlina? not sure which is lower-spec, you get the idea. Not including the time not spent actually working on the car (research, parts hunting etc) its up to about 470 man-hours since I started stripping the parts car. This includes building the buggy, both relocations & cleaning up the mess I make, I have no target, just keeping track in my Project Diary. I hope I got the good set.. Just joking mate! :) Thankyou again, they'll go very nicely with my plans for the future... :D I now await my postie with open arms! Thanks man, I'm going to make it a little better, damn being pedantic! It's a spare wheel tub, noone will see it, it's a spare wheel tub, noone will...:bash: :bash: :bash: :)

I'm trying to at least imply the image of doing things safely  :laff: I've got a lolly shop around here that does chocolate coated coffee beans, caffeine + sugar for the win!!! :y: I was on my P's in my KE70 & had a Korfball (just Google it rather than ask me what it is :P) training weekend in Mount Gambier, dfunkt was on his L's still so couldnt help me drive :( Drove up early Saturday morning, full day's drills etc, I got drunk Sat night (stupid :bash:), Sunday full day again (I, predictably, was throwing up a lot). Drove straight to Melbourne, attended Soulfly concert then drove back out to Bacchus Marsh at 2am after the KE70 had her I-don't-want-to start hissy-fit in the Crown carpark. Learned how NOT to do a road trip from that :laff: Oh, I started a new job that Monday too  Yep, that one. Jeez, you make one speeling mistake around here & people jump on it :lolcry: Do you know what they say about great minds? 'Cos I sure as hell don't! :P -
Zac...how stupid was he for trying that jazzy-solo stuff :( Glad he came back, their set at BDO was epic! Thanks blz! :y:

Got off bum... One colour bog now... Now different colour, same bog  Ahh who cares, we have primer! Comparison of orignal & now. Gonna sand some bits back & do some more shaping, not completely happy :hmm:
