  1. So this is what I managed to score: Grille. Passenger side mirror assembly & matching trim pieces to finally be installed on Blue Thing. I thought I had a spare from the parts car, turned out to be the same as the interior was...counter-sunk screws everywhere :bash: Drivers window regulator, in surprisingly good nick :) Hatch lights. Mitsubishi Cordia Turbo front seats with 'modified' rails. I've been told these are AE92 Seca rear seats, they look comfy-ish but still prefer the drivers seat  A full set of glass (what I actually went for), all tinted & in good condition  We couldnt be bothered pulling the glass out of the hatch :laff: Again, a big thankyou to EvilTwin & company for such a good deal & all the help! :y: I also had some other goodies arrive last week courtesy of another forums member :y: F-ing couriers were not gentle with them however :( AE101 superstrut (JDM as fork) calipers. Silly-car front rotors  Also have this floating around from an Ebay auction, amazing what you find when you're trying to make room for stuff :laff: Again, Ebay auction but thinking of painting it :hmm: It doesnt have any internal baffling but I've got an easy fix for that. Fuel pump for a Toyota Supra with a 7MGTE, good to see they're good for something other than blowing h... :) Bits & bobs from a Jaycar run a while back. No work on car today, otherwise occupied with child-minding, no TCCA meeting either :(
  2. I <3 accidental posting...
  3. If you have large amounts of E-coli bacteria on that part of your anatomy, I don't want to know what you've been doing... :P  :laff: That's cruel & unusual punishment!
  4. Around my way at night, it does pay to be a little cautious... WGMG - People who are O-C/paranoid about germs... I'm all for hygiene, but if you wrap yourself/your kids in a constantly sanitised bubble, how is the immune system meant to get any exposure to bacteria & viruses to build a resistance to them? Play in the dirt, eat worms, but do wash your hands after going to the toilet! E-coli only have one home :laff:
  5. :lmao: @ all of above :) I didnt actually get around to working on the car today  I got.....distracted by a for sale thread, so I'd like to put big shoutout of thankyou to EvilTwin from AE82OC & my other helper who's forum name I don't know :) I went for some window glass & ended up with so much more lol. That poor Twin Cam looked so molested after we'd finished, sad to see another white one off to be cubed but at least part(s) of it will live on :P Pics once I unload the car. I had dinner with parentals tonight, I arrived with a fully loaded car. They nearly freaked out at first when they thought I wanted to stash it all in their garage along with the boat & all the other stuff I have there.
  6. Even better! I use the theory of "Pi"...work out what I think my mods will cost, multiply by 3.14 & it turns out pretty close once everything's done
  7. WMMH - Being allowed to drive again :) AND More HOT nurses at the clinic!
  8. WOOHOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!   The doctors have declared me fit for duties/driving again!! They picked up some fine scaring that may take another week or two to fully clear up but my vision is up to scratch again (pardon the pun :laff:). I can work on car again, I can work on car again... :D Respirator -check Goggles - check Silicone gun with fresh cartridge - check
  9. Just wondering why this is in the AExx section? :hmm: :)
  10. For the pickup price, no complain :no2: Good score man! :y: Looking forward to seeing its tidy up
  11. Does Debbie still live in Dallas? :hmm:
  12. So was her 'acting' performance.
  13. I like it too! Sometimes it doesnt matter if you spend more on your engine (for example) than the whole car is worth if you were to sell it. If you don't intend to sell it then it's irrelevant isnt it? :D Also, if you've got access to the good stuff, go nuts! :y: Lucky bugger lol
  14. Last time I saw this post it was about finding a rego label :hmm: How things change! :laff: Congratulations on the news man! :y: :D  I figured you'd go drinking :P Should've taken boots with you, good to see you got up for work!
  15. Edit: blzbub666 & 67Rolla-Ken beat me to it
  16. I don't know the talents of the director of either movie, but Willow or Through the looking glass (keeping Mr T as the voice of the Jabberwocky!) would be awesome remade with some modern effects  Or TFATF series remade with nothing but hire cars! :P
  17. On the opposite end of the spectrum... Was working a Saturday in an industrial estate & jumped into my AE82 Twin Cam hatch to head home in the late afternoon. Several hundred metres up the road, I was pulled over by a Highway Patrol car. The officer explained to me that a car 'matching' the description of mine had been reported for performing doughnuts & general hoon driving in the area not long ago. The explaination of my prior whereabouts was requested & when told that I had just left work & there were 3 witnesses to back my statement up not far away, the penny must've dropped. "Is this a front wheel drive?" "Yes it officer." "Oh...have good evening." My guess is someone dobbed in an AE86 (giving a dodgy description at that, 2 door liftback vs a 4 door hatch?) & I got pulled up. Despite having mistaken me for someone else, they at least had enough mechanical knowledge to save me the trouble of pointing out that the only way I could be doing doughnuts, is (with Maccas trays :lolcry:) in reverse & on private property! :D I had a point about them not all being out to get you & there are a few good ones, but I think it got lost there somewhere :hmm:
  18. Amazing what provides one with motivation...works for me! :y: Had one ask me to read the eye chart for her, I'm thinking "what f&@$ing eye chart?" It's almost worth giving myself a massive ear infection to have a reason to go back :laff:
  19. They're only easy because you havent had enough experience in getting drunk properly at 19 compared to at 30, therefore the after-effects are nowhere near as severe :P  :laff: Btw I'm not that old...yet
  20. WMMH - Being able to see out of both eyes again! Albeit things are a little blurry still on the right side but HELLOOOO depth perception, my dear old friend! :D Edit: WMMH - HOT nurses at the clinic!! :y:
  21. Put the vodka down, go to bed, go to work.
  22. Ouch, but okay.. Long story short, the GZE came with a lower compression ratio than the GE's via different headgasket & pistons. This made it friendlier to boost & yes, it was factory produced by Toyota. As Parrot said though, not in AE82s. :no2: It shares features of the later generation n/a engines, such as oil squirters for the pistons, a 7-rib block, larger diameter gudgeon pins & a lack of TVIS  You could remove the s/c & fit a turbo, but this would require plumbing of oil/coolant lines, new exhaust manifold, more than likely a larger intercooler & getting the factory systems to cope with the amount of boost you plan to run, other than the 8-9psi of standard :)
  23. 4AC - mechanical fuel pump in engine bay. 4AGE - electronic fuel pump in fuel tank.
  24. As in welding in rust-free metal? Hopefully that's it unless I come across anything I havent noticed previously. I would LOVE to be having a weld-in cage installed at this point but funds don't permit it & I really don't have a NEED for it just yet  Once the roof/topsides are primed, the car & buggy are going to be put up on stands so I've got a bit more room to move. Going to strip the entire underbody, prime it (NO bog here!! :no2:) then decide whether I want to go for paint, a thin-ish underbody protectant or a combination of both. :hmm: Contemplating silicone-sealed goggles for this :P Thanks mate! :y: Have been resting, can't do much else :lolcry: Good news from the doc's yesterday, the 6mm x 6mm scratches on my cornea are now 1mm x 1mm in size! Things are still a little blurry but I can finally go outside!! I'm getting the feeling this wheel tub's gonna be finished being shaped, smoothed & primed in record time, yes that will be it!! Got another doc visit on Monday, so gonna play things safe & wait for the all-clear from them before getting into it again.
  25. And with it, costs :) The thing I love about this forum, there's always someone who knows more than you do about a particular topic (in my case anyway) & people here usually arent afraid to call BS when they see it :no2: Hook into the links Twinky & ke70dave provided, get the grey matter churning & don't forget to get yourself a rides thread up so we can see how you're going!
