  1. So I got into the shed, unrolled the faithful camping mat to keep the body happy, slapped on the dustmask/goggles & went-a-sanding... I wasnt happy with the shape/feel of it, so I roughed up all the unsanded spots & bogged again :( Backs to sanding again. I <3 bog dust :no2: After the first round of shaping, it was looking like this :) After the next lot of sanding to smooth things out a bit, it looked like this. Then after a dust off/wash down & one coat of primer, it looks like this. Finally after another two coats, it looks like this
  2. The more you rub, the closer you'll get to a happy ending! :P WGMG - Losing track of time! I'd just had lunch yesterday at about 3pm & went back into the shed to keep sanding/shaping bog. After a 'while' I'd finished it ready for primer & I looked out the door & thought: "hmm, when did it get dark?". Looked at the clock & discovered it was 2am :o
  3. It sucks how when you want really good/large diameter rubber it gets pricey :( I can give a recommendation to the KU31's :y: I used them on my AE82 TC (before the rebuild started) as well as a mate who had a set on his JZA80 (with a 1JZGTE VVTi) & both of us found them to be quite good bang for buck. They were a bit 'greasy-ish' for the first few hundred kilometres (tyre preservative stuff) but were quite grippy afterwards & not being the type to break traction all the time ensured their relatively long life. Personally I found them to be good close to the limit of traction, they'd let you know that they werent happy in advance, rather than just suddenly let go I havent used the Bridgestones so I couldnt even start to compare them. :( Thats a good price for the Kumhos by the way, I paid about that for my 15" tyres  Edit: I'm not trying to push a particular brand, I was just curious :) Nor am I a tyre expert, just like to see what other people use & results
  4. Screamer pipe = Win! (& shit-scared pedestrians!) Soft! :P Nah, it was friggin cold last night!! I had a little electric fan forced thing going, kept the dust out of my eyes, me warm & got my bog to cure :D Your work's looking neat man! :y:
  5. Werent we going to do our own this year? Re: EOI - Road Trip to Queensland? :P I seriously want those licence plates!!!
  6. Yay, progress! :) Sweet rims, any particular preference as to brand of tyre for them?
  7. Happy 21st Matty! Party it up!!! :-)

  8. Wow, that's cheap! Okay it was a few years ago but still good! Good score. Smart little bugger... From what I've been able to tell, Tomei do actually test their products thoroughly & can back up their claims with actual data. You do pay for this in their prices, but with proven results it's a difficult arguement. I personally would go the route of getting some less pricey cams plus some adjustable cam gears, probably equals around the same price but that just could be because I'm very budget-concious sometimes
  9. Enjoy your newfound freedom! Make paying rent, bills & buying food your top priorities. I go to trade school with a bunch of guys in situations similar to yours who'll go on & on about how wasted they got at some club on Friday night. Then in the next breath they're whinging about having no money for food after they've borrowed money from Mum & Dad to pay rent :hmm: Here's a thought, maybe that $200 odd they spent on alcohol, kebabs & taxis may have been put to better use. I'm not saying don't have a life, just a time & place :) Congratulations on the job acquisition! :y:
  10. I had an ignition module die in the dizzy of my 2AC engine. Once I diagnosed that this was the fault, I went shopping... Aftermarket no-frills brand price - $48, genuine Bosch price - $97. Bosch is pricey, but IMHO is worth it for quality bits :y: That is of course, if they give you the right bits! A small book that you jot down any part numbers in is a valuable tool. I use the back cover of my Haynes manual for this, very handy! I started doing this after a guy in Autobarn handed me a dizzy cap for my 4K KE70 which had 6 spark lead points & wondered why I had an issue... A 6 cylinder factory fitted engine in a Corolla?!? :hmm: I'd like to see that! :laff:
  11. That is true... I have two male dogs & yes the smell is enough  Cat piss smells worse! Well, STRONGER anyway :) Edit: WGMG - Dogs urinating on the floor inside when any other time they go to the door, scratch & whine :(
  12. Can't say I've tasted dog piss... :P :laff: Or cat piss... :lolcry:
  13. I am  The last hail I've seen have been 5 second spinklings of pea sized stuff...
  14. You can keep your Aston Martins, Ferraris, Lotus's & definitely the BMW... The prefered car of James Bond is...
  15. It might look small on something like a massively boosted GT-R or Supra for example, looks about right  Going to run a screamer pipe out under the passenger side door? :laff: Edit: Mmm, new toys to play with :D
  16. By the sound of this, New South Welshmen don't appear to have functioning tastebuds. :P The only way VB doesnt taste like :yak: is if it's a stinking hot day, you've been working, it's ICE COLD & it's free! :D
  17. Ummm...as a West Melbournite, did I miss something? :blinks: Hailstorm? What hailstorm? :hmm:
  18. All the little P platers in their shopping trolley Lancers can just go cry in the corner now, 'cos Grandad's in the house!! Half of them think these are a Magna anyway :lolcry: Sweet ride man :y: White bonnet would look out of place! :P
  19. Nice pic!
  20. Hard to find bits that you need at a good price = WIN!!! Sorry if I don't quite follow along, does this mean the 92's going to take a back seat to the 30? :blinks:
  21. WGMG - Lazy/dodgy trades-people. Was underneath a house (recently renovated) today, here's some things I noticed: - Ducted heating system ducts/BTO's/boots taped together with masking tape. - Maccas & Subway rubbish everywhere! Great, that means rats... - Electrical wires not secured up off the ground. - Exposed, bare wires at several junction boxes. - Copper gas & water pipes not secured up off the ground. - Newly soldered joints leaking (water). - PVC drainage pipes appeared to slapped together any old way & the whole system was secured in 3 places... - Integrity of some floor joists questionable. I didnt think 50mm (w) x 100mm (h) timber was meant to flex THAT much, disconcerting when your head's underneath it. This place screams 'quick-don't-give-a-$h1t-cashy-job' :hmm:
  22. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but from what I've been able to find out, the standard ecu is fine for cams less than 272? Any cams that or higher would require an aftermarket computer? Which you'd want anyway as it would let you extract the best from the *insert amount of dollars here* you just spent on cams :)
  23. Puerto Rico has just advanced up the list of places I MUST visit!!
  24. Yay!! I can go back to working on the car again!! :-)
