Youngest Rollaclub member? Congratulations to all, may you stay strong during all the sleepless nights & endless nappy changes!

So how did the stereo install go? I always hated changing the front speakers as I dislike pulling dash bits apart (& have done it WAY too many times), did you have to trim off/bend one of the tabs for the front speakers? I finally got around to putting speakers into my AE80 daily but not wanting attention I've skipped the sub/amp combo.

This reminds me of what Channel 9 has done to Top Gear, I timed it one night & it went like this: Show intro & whats on dialogue - 2mins Ads - 5mins TG - 3.5mins Ads - 4.5mins TG - 5mins Ads - 4mins TG - 3mins Ads - 3.5mins And so on & so forth.... I have given up watching it on TV altogether & have just resorted to watching it on YouTube. Sure it can be a while until the new episodes are uploaded but I'm working my way from the very beginning, so a while to go yet. :)

Amen! Its the perfect answer to the question "What are AE82's good for?". Well, towing your trailer-bitch AE86 for starters! :P

Just to bear in mind, this guy had just gotten his P's & was hooning around the carpark (I'm no race car driver but this guy had no form of skill/car control) trying to throw his car sidewyas, doing little single spinners & generally being a hazard to anyone/anything in the vicinity. So we decided to ensure the safety of others  Anyone smashing my Blue Thing would almost be doing me a favour :lolcry: Yes I put my car there with the full knowledge that it could be damaged, but I'd rather that than someone getting injured/killed. P.S An XD Falcon is a friggin tank, you could take out a Landcruiser with one of those things!!

Maybe its for the best that I didnt make it (sorry guys), I would've spoiled that photo with my AE80 there :laff: I was working away on the rebuild, got into a nice rythym sanding away at the bog & before I knew it, it was 3am :blinks:

AMEN!!!!! Have learned to hold my breath for the required amount of time to take a leak, I don't use them for number twos AT ALL!

2 corned beef & cheese rolls, about 10 muesli/fruit bars, a choc-chip muffin, a banana, a peach, an iced coffee & a 2litre bottle of water that gets refilled around lunchtime. Oh, the smokes are in there too as they get trashed when in my pocket :(

Website "Search" function in the top right-hand corner should be able to help you. :)

The annoying part about those rims is it only came with 3!! I searched the entire wreckers including the scrap bins but to no avail. They're also directional wheels (like directional tyres, I'm assuming because of the fins), though I'm not sure which side I have 2 of... I think they'd look horn on a KE30-55 2 door but yeah, stud pattern fail. :( Oh well, (handbrake assisted) burnout rims!!!!

A Twinky is (from my understanding) either: a) An American fake-cream-filled snack cake that is consumed in massive numbers, daily. b) A young homosexual male. :P Good to see you're joining the dark side of FWD, we may not be able to drift but the joys of lift-off oversteer are foreign to the RWD people. Well except the MR weirdos :)

Would it be more amusing if I mentioned that I had left my car in neutral & the handbrake off? All he had to do was push it a little :laff:

I turned onto Ballarat Road (Western Highway) one night & moved into the right lane to overtake a Camry. Out of nowhere I have a white Hyundai Getz security car up my ass, yes I checked my mirrors & headchecked before changing lanes & he had been miles back! Lots of flashing headlights & a few toots of the horn from him, so I merely waved back at him & took my time overtaking & moving back into the left lane. We got to a set of traffic lights where 2 lanes became 3 & since I was going left at the Ring Road on-ramp I moved over to the left lane, with him pulling up beside me to my right. I had the feeling he was going to try to cut me off so I made sure I got a good launch from the lights. Sure enough he pulls in behind me, can't match my corner speed onto the on-ramp but starts catching me rapidly (the 2AC engine is a gutless pig), one on-ramp lane was closed for road works so with some nice timing I managed to block him there & got a nice gap between cars when merging so managed to get over to the right lane. Sure enough, he's still on my ass like a limpet & the headlights are going off like strobe lights at a rave. So I gave him some lights of my own....brake lights! I don't know why but the car next to me in the left lane was slowly reducing speed, so I slowed to match it & prevent Hyundai man from getting past. From Furlong Rd to the Tullamarine Freeway on the Western Ring Road we had a TOP SPEED of 45kmh! I'd gone way past my off-ramp but was having too much fun to care. Once the third lane after the Tulla came along he no-indicator double lane changed & flew off. I passed him about 1min later as I was about to use Sydney Road to do a U-turn...on the side of the road being booked by an officer in an unmarked cop car!!! Moral of the story? don't sit on my arse, wait 5 seconds & I'll move back over to let you past if you're in such a hurry. Also on a side note when I used to ride my pushbike to/from work I'd get dickheads who would think its funny to swerve towards a cyclist to scare them. They don't find it so amusing when the cyclist kicks the crap outta their passenger doors with steel cap boots & smashes the passenger-side rear-view mirror at the next set of traffic lights. Have also put my fist (wearing gloves thankfully) through the side window of a Holden Statesman. Didnt actualy mean to, was just banging on it to make the driver aware that he was running me off the friggin road! Did a quick turn into a side street, through an alley & onto a conveniently-about-to-leave metro train.

Edit: pics down due to 'issues'.

Boo diddly hoo, too bad for him. If he wanted it bad enough he would've put a deposit on it. People who don't put deposits down are usually tyre-kickers/dreamers anyway.

Have a ute and want a convertible? Just do this: Nice plates, I'm sure he is! Got camber? Best plates ever!

Ummm....hopefully he isnt running any as that would ruin a perfectly good 4AGE 20V engine!! Car looks sweet as, top work man! :y: The induction noise of those trumpets would be porn!

Cheers mate, I do what I gotta do :) As for parking in shopping centre carparks? Only in the furtherest possible spot from anyone else, I don't care if I have to walk 10mins to get inside. People around here could not park properly to save themselves! I think I'll cry at my first stone chip... :sob: I intended to have it on full rego but is more than likely headed for Club permit as the cost of two full registrations per year is doable for me but I cannot justify it. Not at over $600 a pop no! You & me both man, you & me both! I have the image of the final result in my head, hopefully it turns out to somewhat resemble that lol. Sorry if this thread contains a bit too much personal non-car stuff & not enough technical information. Just wanted to try & give my story a little bit of depth & some insight into the trials & tribulations of a first major car build. Feel free to ask questions about anything & (constructive) feedback is ALWAYS appreciated. I'm no expert, half this stuff I'm still learning along the way. But as they say, there aint nothing to it but to do it!

Also saves you wondering "now which one goes in which side?" when it comes time to put it back together. :laff: Oh & when you DO drop your gearbox out, make sure to have jacks/mates on hand to help as getting them in/out by yourself can be a right royal bitch of a time! Without a hoist that is! :P

Ummm, lets say that hypothetically I bought an engine from Toyospares (paid more than $900 though)....by the sound of things I should be a little worried about now??

Maybe have a chat with your local glaziers, they might be able to sell you a tube or 3 of the silicone they use for putting windows in. They use aluminium frames for them sometimes so there should be no issue with the silicone sticking to either the metal channel or the glass itself.
