May have lined something up already. Not saying anymore :y: Also, on the engine front I'm toying with going the same way as TommyKE11, using quad motorcycle carbs. With a big help from toyota_ae71 i have spied on a set of GXR1100 (i think) 34mm Mikuni's for a very reasonable price. So atm its up in the air on wether to import a TE front or get these carbs. Then again, with my brain always thinking of ways to mod the wagon. I may have a killer combo to drop in when i can afford it all. so might stick with a stock-ish 4K and spend the money on the looks sides of things atm.

hmmmm, behind the auto x member or infront??? Manuals have the X member in the forward positon, Autos are further back. So possibly not a problem limited to the 55's. Let me know though, you've got me curious now. And all Good man, just trying to help people out. We (Greenmac, JasonKE30 and myself) found out the hard way, right at the time we were ready to bolt my manual geabox in. Realised there were no holes that even remotely lined up. We Modified the auto X member with a rectangular steel plate and as i mentioned earlier, Sam Q is now in possesion of it as to make some more for this purpose. CHEERS Ryan

Considering we never got them here I'd probably be right in saying they're rarer than K-T bellhousings (in Aus). I think i've seen 1 pic of a KE35 with a TE front in Aus. Feel free to correct where needed.

I had that problem with my 30. then again it was an AMI 78 model, so pretty much a 55. Best way would be to have a looksy. Manual X-members are a fair whack forwars from the auto X-member.

Lookin Good Towe. Mounts differ between auto and manual chassis. Talk to Sam Q about an adaptor mount. He has the original adaptor mount that i made. (allowed a KE70 5spd to bolt up to an Auto KE30 chassis. CHEERS Ryan

But thats just me, I have access to most things to fabricate a manifold etc. Someone might get a workshop to make them a super titanium, gold plated manifold. then the price of the carbs would probably be the cheap part :P

He had a plate laser cut then just had runners directly to the carbs. manifold fabrication and laser cutting wouldnt cost too much. The carbs would be the most costly part of it IMO

I don't really think they would suit. Yes, they do look good, but IMO not on a corolla. That said, If you do put them on. I think they will be a PITA to fit to 26" rimzzzzzz when the hydraulics get fitted.

Here in SA. we have to keep well within the law. We don't have any sort of roadworthy tests. so the 5-0 are really onto the defects. Minor defect (tyres etc) go to the cop shop. one look over the problems as written on the defect papers, $25.50 and its all good to go. Major defects (height, oil leaks etc) go to Regency (Vehicle Inspection Staiton, Located in Regency Pk). WHOLE car gets a fine tooth comb check. If all good, $140 later and your all good to go. If it doesnt pass, it will be double defected and you will be sent on your way to have them both fixed.I have personally seen cars with 3 (THREE) defect stickers. Regency is also considered the last stop before the wreckers or heaven for older cars on defect.

I knew i'm not supposed to see the engine whilst driving :P I was planning on running a KE30 bonnet and grill. after seeing a 36 with the TE front I'm up in the air wether to import a TE grille and Bonnet. Decisions, Decisions..... Anyways, worked on the beast for a couple hours yesterday. Dropped the entire steering and suspension setup and removed and partially stripped the gearbox...Finally. Also sprayed the inner front guards to look all pretty X member, LCA's, Swaybar, Castor Rods, Castor/Swaybar mounts, Strut tops and Spring hats are in Luc's possesion to be powdercoated black. Apart from the swaybar that will be done in silver, just one of the ways I plan to lace the silver and black exterior into the black engine bay. Cleaned up the bay a little more now theres nothing in it apart from the booster Also while I'm at work I'm planning a shifter relocation setup to bring the shifter to a more preferable position. It's so far planned to position the shifter 50mm or so rearward of the KE70 position. It will look pretty stock once covered with a console and even use a stock KE shifter :y: for those who know T56's, you'll have an idea of what i have in mind. Just a much better made setup. Some info for those who don't know, KE38 and 36's are 35mm higher than KE30,35 and 55's from factory. As it stands the car has had a front end colision resulting in a new LH front section being grafted on. They replaced the mangled 38 strut with a sedan strut. Here is the difference in springs;

With the GZE pistons, I wouldnt thing you'll be pulling too much power as low comp isnt the way to go for N/A. Just wait till you get the SC on.

I assume it has a banjo style diff? As i have heard kicking both wheels is a sign its worn. Did the same in my 25 when i managed to get wheel spin.

I'm gonna install solenoids in the doors. so with the push of a button, Pop. and they're open. If its gonna be a legality issue i'll put momentary buttons at the top of the doors. Other than that, a couple buttons on the dash and possibly a 2 button RF transmitter on the key ring. Boot will have a solenoid in it, that will be apart of the Alarm/Immobiliser system.

The Startings of an all stainless Plenum for this beast of a thing... Unpolished at this stage but will chuck it on the lathe at work and give it a wicked shine Then parting and facing it off for sqaure ends. Get some flat stainless sheet for the end caps. Machine the 2.5" hole for the inlet in one cap. Source some 2" stainless for the runners, flare the end and weld it up. Oh, and before any welding takes place, 1 piece flange for the throttle bodies will be laser cut. (hopefully i can fine a lump of stainless that wont put me into debt for 200yrs) CHEERS Ryan
