Hoping to have it on the road before my 19th. Would really be nice to make a debut at Old Skool 'n New age 2010.

Allan at Pedders = Win. I was using that deadener last night. Found it doesnt like to spread at low temps (to be expected with bitumen). So i stuck it over a bucket with a small fire in it and heated it up till it begins to steam. Goes on REALLY well when really warm

I like the oil pump idea. I personally think CAS hanging off the front of the engine looks crap.

Not over here. they had big bulky crappy lumps of plastic bolted to the front and back of the car. Also, can you go to the philippenes for me and get me some chrome :D

mine had a 4.3:1 with a K40 and sat around the 3,000 mark. running 14's (175 with a medium profile). Seems a little low compared to everyone elses

the old person body strips down the side of the car, the ones that always seem to be in the wrong spot when someone opens the door against your car. care fully peel them off, be cautious not to take the paint off with it. then clean it up the sticky residue thats left with wax and grease remover.

From what i've read, AE86 shocks will fit a KE3x/55. 86 suspension also bolts into *E7* so its safe to say the shocks from KE3x/55's, *E7*'s and AE86 are interchangeable. id say KE1x and 2x would be different as they are mounted upright, not cambered in like on the KE3x/55's

Just under the front of the seat, where the front seat mounts are? I was toying with that location too. I more thinking in an accident a position more accessible to any one in the car at the time (front and rear passengers). Also somewhere, that in the case of an accident (please no :D ) someone from outside can see it. But i'll probably mount it under the front lip of the seat anyways. If worse comes to worse i'll grab another for the passenger side seat too. Chris; The wheels shown are copies of ROH 12 slotters i pulled off a HZ stato at UPI. 14x7 with around 0 offset. The diff isnt in, in those pics so thats where i want them to end up after i have them pulled apart and re-offset-ed.

I reckon it doesnt make a diffrence. As long as your within your bump stop clearance limits and no part of the suspension or drive line makes contact with the floorpan at full compression, there shouldnt be an issue. When i bought my KE30 the previous owner flipped the leaves in the rear and had to remove the bump stops. Needless to say i had some wicked imprints in the rails from the top of the u bolts.

What next? Jamuary? Walk around with jam on our faces?

I saw the url in the link and thought to my self "ooooh, here comes some classice VTEC fail-age". Then saw VW in the topic and was a bit bummed out. Then i looked and read and looked some more. WAYY more fail-age than VTEC could ever muster up. Now thats saying something :D

Thanks guys :D I went down to the shed to grab something and stood there and looked at it for a while, then thought to myself "PHUCK YEA". Fingers crossed i'll be grabbing the locker from Luc to get under this thing so i can load it up on a trailer and take it to the tip..... ...Nah, just back to Luc's where it should get its first coat of primer :| Hopefully get all my diff bearings next week as i pulled the sucker apart. Everything inside looks as if its just rolled out of the factory (no real signs of wear or pitting on the pinion or crown gear) Stoked :bash: So a few things i have to get sorted before prime is; Rear section of gutter. Re-work the rear passenger guard to its straight. A touch more smoothing on the tailgate to get it perfect. Still chasing a KE30 bonnet but that can always be primed after the rest of the car. Happening at the moment is; Sand blasting parts for powder or paint. Waiting on bearings. Making better adaptor rails for the mazda seats. (as used in my KE30) Planning a dash layout for later to incorporate: Speedo Tacho Oil Pressure Water Temp Volts High beam, Indicators and warning light bezels Batttery cutoff switch (don't know weather i should put it in the dash or somethere else) Anyone know a good spot in a wagon to mount a fire extinguisher? I can't mount it on the tunnel between the front and rear as the rear seat folds forwards onto the tunnel.

I got plently of that deadener stuff if you wanna give it a try b4 you buy. That said its only like $8 a tin from bunnings.

Cheers Pete :D Pics of the new ride height. Lowest legal height for SA. Going to get some nice stiff spring packs to make sure i don't go too low. It Mightnt look that low, but the height of the roof directly above the rear tyres is 1330mm (1.33M or 133cm) and the bumper is only half way up my shin :|

I want something that'll give me some breathing room if i choose to run some mid profile 15's I might be able to get away with it now but just in case :| Will scope the wreckers tomorrow arvo or the weekend to see what i can find. Cheers.
