  4. I'm not going for all out power. not going to mod the engine apart from possibly extrators and carb if i need them. That way if i do end up grenading and engine I'm not up for copius amounts of money to get it back the way it was. Going by what i was told "a better reving engine" and a "better screaming engine" i automatically put it down to a shorter stroke.

  6. 253's and 308's share the same bore not the stroke. I was talking to Rollin Along about this and comparing the 253 and 308 is like comparing the 186 and 202. The bigger engine has more cubes but the smaller one has a shorter stroke meaning they can rev easier.

  10. Thanks for the edit mate :dance: Engine/Gearbox and Tailshaft are out. All the wiring has been stripped and have started from scratch. I know what its like having to intergrate old and new so its all new wiring now. Switches and relays have been wired for gauges, lights, thermos, coil and am after a 70A relay for the starter motor. Have decided to keep the manual pedal box in the beast. I shall keep the regular braking system for the front brakes. Then hook up a PBR trailer MC to the clutch pedal and connect it to the rear brakes. Effectivly giving me a hydraulic foot opperated "handbrake" to be able to lock up the rears. Yet still use the front brakes to pull me up like normal. Got a price on a 253/Trimatic and 308/Trimatic coming in at 1200 and 1500 respectivly. The guys sold me a 253 would be a better burnout engine as they rev a bit better and can really scream. Going to run headlights and rear lights as there is the possibility of night time burnouts. And cus I reckon it looks wicked with plumes of smoke on the pad, the car isnt visible but you can see the two beams of light cutting sick in the middle of it all :hmm:

Supercharger/Engine Capacity and PSI calculations There you go mate EDIT: Just did the calcs, and if i did it all correct. it works out that you will need a pulley with a diameter of 80% of the crank pulley. if the crank pulley is 148. your SC pulley will need to be about 185mm in diameter.   15. Most likely just gonna run cast headers. 2 or 2.5in pipe from the headers, back to a pair of mufflers then dump in front of the rear wheels.

  17. Yea, talked to a guy at work today and looks as if i will be getting a trimatic. I'm not a big fan of autos, BUT if i can rip more skids then I'm all for it. SWEET, so the 308 should drop in with no worries. Just hope theres enough room for some stocko headers.

  19. hahah, maybe. But no thanks. I'm a holden man (even before corollas). Figured with a 308. no firewall mods will be needed and as the autos in rollas were Traumatics an Aussie 4spd should fit in no worries. I don't wanna f@$k around with all this EFI stuff. Also, instantly id but up for another turbo. and I don't really wanna have to worry about damaging a turbo. I just want something i can jump in and skid till my hearts content. Ride hard, put away wet :) I wont be going for rego at all. Purely a skidder :)
  20. hahaha, knew you'd love the sound of this. Got half the interior sprayed rattlecan silver. Not gonna strip out the sound deadening. lucs gonna give the panel work a once over (hopefully) get a diff sorted and see my mates down at Production Line and hopefully they can hook me up with a 253 or 308 (hopin for a 308 but i'll take what i can get)
  21. not at all. Get contacted by said person sayin his engines running rough and whats it mean when theres coolant on the plugs. He ended up pulling it off and puting on a 4K head
  22. yea, the thought of whackin in a V6 crossed my mind. Thats the thing, V6 manuals are getting a bit thin on the ground. Plus all the asscociated efi wiring and fuel system ( yes i have most of the stuff to do the fuel system but all i wanna do is skids :) I should be able to run a mech fuel pumped stock 308 without any fuel system mods. The car has been stripped of all wiring so any wiring will be the bare essentials to run the engine. anyone wanna throw me some sponsership :)
  23. TOO TRUE. There was someone on here (no names) spent around 150 for a 3K BP head and it was so warped it blew the headgasket in a few days.
