  1. Yep yep. Either that or booze to aid further progress of this project.
  2. All the info you need, right here Corolla/Celica/Corona brake upgrade Basically what you'll need is XT130 struts, MX62 calipers and RA60 discs and hubs. I was going to do this conversion but have decided to go the next step. The XT130 aren't really worth it over the MX62 calipers. Whats I'm doing is Using XT130 struts, VN commodore vented, slotted and drilled rotors and a pair of 4 Runner calipers. using a 15/16 MC off of a commodore. This would probably be the better option, plus the shape of the pad used in the 4 runner calipers are the same as other performance cars so finding some race spec pads would be easier too. Hop this helps
  3. Got my harnesses about a week ago. Just need to pinch some steel bar and plate from work to make up a C-pillar to C-pillar brace, to which i can attatch the harnesses properly. At the moment i have both shoulder straps going back to the rear seatbelt mount on the parcel shelf and I'm sure its not a real good idea. Might be alright but looks friggen dodgey. Tryed them on and all i can say is i now wanna ditch the seatbelts in my ute for some harnesses.
  4. Springs should be ready late this week early next week :)
  5. +1 :)
  6. Ya getting there mate. Slowly but surely. Will all be worth it when the sucker fires up, especially knowing you did it all yourself.
  7. Yea i remember :P But that was only with the diff tho. With new anti tramp leaves, 6kg fronts and MOAR power, things can only get better. Any pics of the rear back on the ground yet?
  8. MMmmmmMMMM, skids. I was there :P Should go so much harder with the new diff, new front and rear suspension and Hi-flowed turbo :)

Ive done manual gearboxes. Talked to a few people in the know and an auto doesnt seem that much harder to do. Whats the exact issue with clearance?
  11. Maybe not as much tho, seeing is its just a flat surface with less surface area that the heat sink in the bottom of the intake manifold. There may be a little change but probably so small it may go unnoticed. But along the lines of what coln72 said, even if it makes 1% improvement, its still an improvement.

  13. As i mentioned in the APH thread. As the APH meet is now monthly, the posibility of having a club activity such as bowling, karting, cruising, etc. on the opposing fornight. Bowling - Cross Rd bowls- 5mins south of the city- pretty central Go Karting - Gepps X - 15min north of the city- pretty much the best one ive been to yet As for cruising- ???
  14. Mmmmm, make me wanna get another rolla :)
  15. As we talked about it friday, there's the possibility of club activies. such as a cruise, bowling, go karting etc. All up for discussion
  16. Sounds like the project is finally moving ahead :y:
  17. Due to the mainshaft (i think) being longer in the K50, people say it may be more easier to break. But as i said to Canna earlier today, I drove my 4K-H and K50 combo like a mad man sometimes. Ripped skids and did some impressive standstills and didnt have a problem. I think its like everything, soemtimes you get something assembled from the factory and its a piece of crap. Other times you can get something from the factory and have it last the distance. Like some corolla diffs, some have been able to kill them with a 3k. Others have put 160rwkw thru them and they've taken the punishment (13BT KE20)
  18. Just a question, could you possibly take a photo under the dash? curios to find out how the clutch mechanism works (clutch cable being on the right hand side and the pedalbox on the left) CHEERS Ryan
  19. Yeap, K40's and K50's bolt straight up. There are two shifter positions on the K40's and K50's. The ke30/55 have a foward shifter position and the Ke70 gear boxes have the shifter about 3 inches further back. The ke10/20's have a shifter position further foward than the ke30/55's. Not sure on the starlet shifter position tho :y: I know swapping from a ke30/55 K40 to a KE70 K50 the mounts are different. Hope this helps mate.
  20. Ive got a 2 spoke ke30 one here if your interested. PM if you are.
  21. MAN, that looks fkn bad ass just sitting there. Would love to see this in the flesh. I'm south of Adelaide aswel Good Luck with the build CHEERS Ryan
  22. My 4k had blown the gasket around EVERY exhaust port. I found that when i did the HG. But It was due to my diff hitting an squashing up the exhaust where it passed over.
  23. I know what it was like ay. I'm sitting there in an ol skool one tonner and everything else (almost) is jap. Although there was a fully sick VN 5Lt that took off without any pics.
  24. I bought a Compaq laptop at the start of Jan last yr and it runs Vista. within 6 months i was having troubles with it freezing up within 10mins of use unless you ran it on safe mode and not being able to start in some cases. I started using the family comp which has XP and i havent had a problem with it since. Just pulled the laptop back out and am about to format it and chuck XP on it. Going by what others have said, it seems as my laptop is severely underpowered to be running vista.
