  1. Insurance is only good if your car gets stolen or broken into. This is more, theft prevention.
  2. i think you'll find that most places wont allow a 13B let alone a 13BT due to power to weight. PLus i have a feeling the engineer doesnt play as much of a part in it as state legislation does.
  3. If it doesnt start i have a feeling they'd leave it and find something else.
  4. Houston, We have a problem.
  5. they come out thru the top mate. sometimes they wear in a little which leaves a tiny lip at the top of the lifter bore. an extendable magnetic tool is sometimes useful. The removal of the head will make getting the lifters out alot easier, if the heads not already off
  6. Sell the 13B and get a good 12A. There are a couple getting around here in adelaide
  7. I'm sure you could use the 86 PS rack, and just adapt it so you don't have to use the full 86 steering column.
  8. I used to remove the Coil-Dizzy lead on the 25. Luckily i havent had any attempted break in's on any of my cars, Touch wood. Although my old mans 98 pathfinder used to get broken into a few times. The last time it happened the pricks stole a briefcase and a bunch of keys. The only reason my old man found that the car was broken into was that the people around the corner called him after finding his breif case and keys thrown in the middle of their street. 9. Nice mate, Will be good to see how she goes. Any further plans driveline wise?
  10. fixed ;) 1JZ KE55; This thing is awesome, can't wait to see it in the flesh when she's all done. Any time frame on the finish date? or will it be done when its done? CHEERS Ryan
  11. Has paul got a drop saw? I'm gonna grab some CRMS from work and see if we can't work some magic under those front fenders of yours ;)
  12. agreed, the convo pro's looked horn
  13. As Evan has mentioned, toyota builds a good car. so don't worry about taking it over 80 or 100. When i had my KE30 with the 4k, 4spd i had it out to 140km/h (private property) These cars and engines have coped with alot of shit over the years. BUT, that being said. If you feel bad for revving out or traveling at the speed of light then its up to you how you drive.
  14. ^^+1 I was just about to recomend Just Heads before reading Mick's post.
  15. I just got a brand new PBR trailer brake master thru work. Best thing it only cost me $20 brand new :) I reckon a hydro handbrake would be good if you wanna be able to lock up the rears real hard. but not have to yank the mechanical hand brake up just as hard. If you use a big enough master cylinder you should be able to lock them up real hard while not having to rip the handle off the floor.
  16. Yes, It all fits. only mods/ possible mods being; May have to swap to a KE70 gearbox crossmember to use the 5spd mount. And the shifter is further back on the KE70 box. you will have to cut a section of your tunnel out to allow the shifter to come thru. Just extent the original shifter hole Approx 3 inches (75mm/7.5cm) rearward. Once the gearbox is in, and the shifter is thru the floor. Grab yourself some sheet metal and cover the now unused section of the shifter hole. Attach it to the floor with either rivets, screws or some good ol Sikaflex. The Sikaflex is probably the easiest to do and is PLENTY strong enough to hold it there. I had a great time trying to pull the plate off the floor when i stripped the car. Good luck. EDIT: Just read Taz_Rx's post, if your KE55 is auto, then you will need to do some fab work to allow the gearbox mount to line up with the crossmember. The KE70 mount sits a fair whack forward of the 30/55 auto crossmember. I used a piece of thick steel plate welded to the top of the auto crossmember and then welded the gearbox mount on top of the plate. can't remember how far the mount was out tho.

    Spotted

Spotted a red KE70 this arvo. In belair, i think (really can't remember) had a missing front bumper. Also, if the owner is on here. Please get your reverse lights sorted out. Reverse lights on all the time is defect i think.
  20. Dude, don't be so cocky. and KE55PIG, You'll have PM in a short time.
  21. Yes, on cold tyres. As he says in the video, once the tyres are warm and nice and sticky, the car is an absolute bullet.
  22. Alll coming together man. Your sheet metal should be in sometime this week. I'll head round some time and measure up the hole for the wheel well, the RHS and the flanges you wanted.
