Keep your eye out for a decent condish ke30 for me guys :) Just really shitted me off as i was polite as all hell to him but he still treated me like a piece of shit. even wnet as far as calling the car a piece of shit. i have his bage number, whats the best way to go about making a compliant? i know they'll all stick up for each other but at least i will have done something.

Corolla is coming off the road for a decent amount of time. Coming home from Jasons place and i pass an unmarked car on my street. Pull into my driveway, turn off the car, hope out and the cop car was sitting at the end of my driveway. on the wrong side of the road of course. asked if i was on a certain road today. i told him i wasnt (which is true). then was a real prick saying he'll check the complaint if i wanna play like that. anyways, Got done for tyres (again), exhaust leak (just fixed it numb nuts), seats not secured ( my arse), oil leak (dizzy O-ring), steering wheel (fair enough), passenger side front side indicator (wires got ripped in accy) and air filter (yea yeah). Car is NOT allowed to be driven AT ALL and has to be trailered if it has to go somewhere. ATm i don't know hweather part it out and find a clean shell or to keep it

The 4K is purring again, sorta. Wont idle now, i thin thats due to me fixing the blown intake and exhaust gasket. now theres not a leak there, the back pressures building up as my diff has crushed my exhaust. hope to get that sorted out soem time in the near future. ALSO. Pulled the head off of the 5K yesterday. It has dished pistons. the pistons and chambers in the head look almost new. cyl 1 has some light surface rust down the 2nd cyl side of the bore and a little bit around the intake valve. apart from that, there is no real carbon build up, neither is there any oil sludge film like my 4K had. seems to me that it was a well looked after engine (or recently swaped) only the car it was in was treated like shit.

His new engine recieved one on friday night :) My car wont idle not nor is it anywhere as quick as it was. i think its dufe to my diff squashing the exhaust. and niow that ive fixed the blown intake/exhaust gasket theres way too much back pressure :) anyway, thats WGMG

Hey guys, Was looking for some HG torque specs a while ago and i bought another HG yesterday so i though id post up the torque specs. Specs are for an ACL Ezy Fit head gasket PN BD950EZ. Specs were also the same for my ACL Mono Torque head gasket PN BD950MT Torque ALL bolts to 25Nm or 18.5Ft-Lb. Torque them ALL again to 50Nm or 37Ft-Lb. Then one last time to 65Nm or 48 Ft-Lb Ft-Lb = Foot pounds Nm = Newton meters Remember to do them all before torqueing them up more. in stages :P Torqueing sequence: 8 6 1 3 9 10 4 2 5 7 Take it for a drive around the block a few times to get it warm then torque all the bolts up to 65Nm or 48Ft-Lb again as the heat expansion will cause the bolts to loose their torque slightly. I usualy add another 5Nm when i do this. Hope this helps a few of you. CHEERS Ryan

they'll usually pull them down, reset them, then set another (extra) leaf to suit. you do know i probably could have got you brand newies + post for probably not much more than what they slugged ya :P

Just keep them head bolts/ studs torqued right down :P

Got a Quote from API engines today to do a full recon. $1700 :hmm: , keep in mind thats including pulling it down, doing all the work and putting it back together. I'm sure i could get it cheaper if i take it to them in parts and put it together myself. I asked about dished pistons. API use "columbus" pistons. has anyone heard of these and can vouch for them? The guy showed me the 2 dish styles they come in. One has a light dish that is the same size as the piston its self. The other was a heavy dish under the vales and spark plug. Gonna get a quote from southcotts, hopefully tomorrow. Also did the head gasket tonight. seems to have blown between 2 and 3 and into one of the water jackets as i was getting bubbles in the radiator. pulled the manifolds off and the gasket had blown out at one point on every exhaust port leaving only the perforated metal. Jasons brining over a replacement one tomorrow and hopefully getting a 1 piece extractor gasket from mick mid week :P Thanks to Jason (Jason KE30) for giving me a hand and Ash (sidewayz70) for emotional support and team back up. SA doesnt have any P plate laws.....Hallelujah. Just get used to driving with the 4K first. even a 1300 can get you into more trouble than you can handle. let alone a 2000/2500/3000cc 6 cyl.

I Went to a Tech College where you finish yr11 and 12 aswel as start an apprenticeship. I'm 18, finished yr12 last year and went 2nd yr at the start of the year. The way i see it is, by the time I'm 20/21 i'll have my trade papers as well as my yr12. I highly recomend finishing your schooling to anyone out there. You mightnt need it for the career you want to get into when your 16/17 but plans can change at the drop of a hat.
