  1. Toyota brought out a few different designs of 4a-ge. 3rib block, 7 rib block, big port heads, small port heads, 20 valves, GZE's, MAP sensored, air flow sensored etc. Have a looksie (http://www.billzilla.org/4agstock.htm.) Very informative for people wanting to learn about toyota goodness. Thanks, Luke.
  2. Ok, update Ive got more of the roll cage welded up, looking pretty sweet, but.............. Ill be having surgery done on my wrist in a few weeks, maybe 4 or 5. Sooo, this might slow down the process of engine assembly, and everything else. Its gotta be in a cast for like 6 months after the surgery, that really sucks balls...... Ill just have to get my mates to do it while i have a beer and tell them what to do
  3. They came out with the hatch and the seca twin cams. Also the FX16 2 door AE82's, but they are as rare as rocking horse shit.
  4. Hmmm, I'm going to diagnose a case of cancer on this one. Youve got your work cut out for you anyway  Cheers, Dr Luke.....
  5. KE70 makes a bit more sense, and they were rear wheelers  No, you wont need to put another 3.5k into it. I doubt you will find any rolla's with 4age's in them in tassie. Keep an eye on ebay, and on here, also ae82.net forums. You will have to be pretty commited to a swap like that before you start it. Apart from that, just keep an eye out for any twin cam AE82's for sale. Every now and then you can score a bargain. And yeah, there prolly isnt much point in rolling your guards (apart from the lip of them) which you can do with a shifter and a rubber mallet yourself. Any questions, just ask. Ive built up (and down) many AE82 rollas. Good luck.
  6. Oh dear, where do we start?? Not sure about tassie, but up here you can buy a decent 4age engine, gbox, loom, computer combo for about $1000ish, depending where you buy it, and people you know. Ive never heard of a K90???? And i think TWINKY added a little sarcasm with his post about lifting the body, read it again you might get it. There are 2 main reasons for lowereing a car, looks, and handling. Another thing about doing a 4age swap, it will slide right in, but you will have to do a bit of messing around with wiring. And an electric fuel pump setup. After spending 3.5 grand on it, you would have been better off buying a twinky.
  7. My advice will be dependant on how much more power you are chasing. Ok. My user name ae824ate...... Its cos i had a dirty little 4ac in my AE82, then i got an injection setup from a N13 pulsar, custom made an intake plenum with injector seats, turbo manifold etc, added i think 5psi, and the injection setup.....4ate.... It was one of the biggest wastes of money i think ive spent. It went pretty well for a 4a-c, but even then a stock bigport 4age pulls harder, and would cost about half of what i put into that setup. You will always be wanting more and more power, well i do anyway  Get yourself a 4age setup mate, itll put a smile on your face.
  8. Thanks. Thats how i have done it in the past too. There were a few spots that had to be scraped off really hard. Bug and tar remover removes the stuff that stuck to the panels, or really strong degreaser lol. Thanks.
  9. Thanks mate. Yeah ive heard heaps about using dry ice, ive seen a fella here on rollaclub do the same thing really effectivly. With one of my old cars some would peel off really easily, and some spots were really well anchored to the panels.
  10. Man i think everyone that see's a rotarolla gets inspired to build one, i sure am. But circumstances wont permit this for some time i think :P
  11. What did you use to get it off, or did it just pull off easily? I guess i should have read this before i asked what you had been doing to it haha.
  12. I second that with the wheels. Do you take it to test and tunes often?

I wish i was able to be there and see it, that rolla is awesome!!
  14. If anyone has some spare 4age parts, mostly a crank pully and the crank timing gear, please let me know. Not too keen to buy genuine parts. Thanks.
  15. Haha, thanks, I think......... Once i pull my finger out and finish doing the cage and tidying up the body, ill put some more pics up. can't wait for tax time :( Ill have an awesome return to fund my stupidity :hmm: And a decent rebuild of the 4age, and 5lb of forced induction goodness. Can anyone say 4a-gte??? :)
  16. Hey man, thanks for the reply. No, it hasnt got the engine back in it just jet, and don't worry haha, i wont be driving it untill ive finished the roll cage lol. I like my life. I'm hopeing with the amount of weight that has been lifted from her the power to weight will be a bit more impressive :) . Thanks, Luke.
  17. Man I'm so jealous. Id pay good money for a project like this, even better if it was given to me though lol. Looking forward to seeing more progress mate. Luke.
  18. Ive seen a drawthrough setup when it backfires, and its not good at all :) When it happened on my mates datsun absolutely destroyed the turbo lol. and the silly bugger had the thought of adding an intercooler, which really just become a bomb.
  19. Couple more pics. It weighs next to nothing :) Love to hear some comments guys, unless you are gonna abuse me for butchering the car lol.

You came down pretty bloody hard man haha. Whats happening with wheelie bars?
  21. This is awesome. Nice work man, and i also reckon a nice set of skirts and some rear bar work would make this thing look awesome.
  22. I second that :)
