haha i went back into today and expalined how the clutch was big enough for a truck and i needed a miniature corolla item and he then went out the back brought it back and then gave me $25 change. I think it all depends on who you get served by cause some seem to know whats going on while others have no idea.

damm that was a sweet ride. If my mate did that he would have been left dangling from the aforementioned armco. oh and by his balls

Alright guys ive got another question. Is the 4k, 5k clutch the same unit? and does anyone have the repco part no. as my local repco is a bit retarded and ordered me the wrong one.
-
Lucky were in a drought at the moment otherwise id have the same problem.
-
hahaha sucked in most 5k's on here would probly beat it anyways
-
Yeah that is getting plugged before it all goes back together to prevent this happening again.

Well today was interesting. I put the beast up and pulled the gearbox out and i found the problem. For one the entire bellhousing was full of engine oil which was all over the clutch plates but that wasn't the problem (i think). There was that much gunk and sand and just crap in the pressure plate that it had seized. As i took the beast for a bit of a rally one day a lot of shit has got in through the hole where the gearbox and engine join and then mixed with the oil leaking out of the rear main seal and has made a mess. Red's sig is so true bout the massive bills for rallying. I also popped a tyre in the same day so I'm regretting it so much now. Tomorrow I'm going in to repco to order a clutch kit and rear main seal and hopefully it will be back on the road soon.

Long live the king su especially alongside his queen su.

Yeah the only reason I'm not thinking its the cable is that the whole engine and gearbox were only put in the car in may and the clutch cable was new then so i presumed its still ok. Thanks for the advice.

yeah i know that is why i thought something worse must be wrong so the gear box is coming out this weekend

Gday guys. The other day ont he way home from work my clutch wasnt disengaging properly and thus it was quite difficult changing gears. Not what i wanted at the time as it was f###ing hot. Anyway i thought id fixed it by moving the circlip where the clutch goes through the firewall but that lasted a few days and the problem is back again. I have a 5k with a 5 speed gearbox out of a ke 70. I was just wondering if you guys could shed any liight on the topic as it is really pissing me off. I've checked every point along the cables travel and ive since deduced that it must be somthing wrong internally. Also the problem seems intermittent and only plays up when i exceed 3500 rpm which with 4.1:1 diff is quite often. After i exceed this engine speed it wont stop playing up till i stop and let it sit for a while. Also there is a small amount of oil leaking from the back of the engine and from the boot where the clutch lever enters the gearbox. Any help would be appreciated.

cut the inside lip with an angle grinder. Pull out on guard till its in the correct position. Then remove gaurd from car and weld in a steel rod thus sealing the inner lip where the cuts were made.

Yep definently understand this alright. Mines cost me about 7 grand at last count and after that i stopped counting. lol. I'd hate to see the bill if id paid someone to do it.
-
Lol i drifted round a round-about today. totally by accident too. First time ive had my car on the road in the wet. It just started sliding out. I don't drive like a dick on the roads either.

What about street machine. Thats where its at. Dinosaur technology forever. Although i did buy quite a few speed magazines a little while back but Jamies point bout the relevance turned me against it.

Lol commodores arent that bad. -
yeah youve gotta love ke20 fuel tanks. guaranteed never to cost more than 30 bucks to fill up. I laugh at my mum when she has to fill her jackaroo and it costs her $6o bucks. The funny part is that it does about the same amount of driving as what i do.

Lol lucky i didnt get one of these

lol lucky its an auto you wouldnt fit a clutch pedal in there
