    Lol, the 10.30 can be improved, i was stoked with the 140mph part :) strengthening without a cage should be possible to an extent, i would tie the front struts to the firewall with a triangle style strut brace. You could do sub frame connectors like on my car, i used 25x50 rhs, i joined the front sub frame to the area above where the front leaf spring mount is. (this involves going through the floor and accross the back floor area though.

    I will use gas to bring it up on the transbrake have not had a chance to really let it come up yet, taller 1st gear ratio should actually be better for a turbo car with such a big turbo, engine load generally will create boost faster. I used a 2 speed for 2 reasons, race powerglides are relatively cheap for something that can handle 1000hp and small car, smallish tire i figured one potential tire unloading gearchange is better than 2 here is a vid

    Had my maiden voyage to Willowbank last night, on pump fuel, 275x50x15 et radials and 22 psi First pass idiot me set the base fuel pressure to high, that combined with adding to much fuel with n20 on the brake resulted in a popping and fartin 12.5 @ 132 2nd pass, changed plugs, fixed reg, trimmed some fuel on N20 setup, left on 5 psi it bogged but came home for a 10.30 @ 140 went around and lined up to try a harder launch and go for my first 9 but got the boot lol pics thanks to rusty

    Cheers mate, yeah well can't say the turbo is doing it for me just yet but i never expected it to perform all that fantastic on low octane fuel and low boost. It is laggy but pretty much comes on exactly where i expected. Made just shy of 500rwhp on pump at first dyno session, the gate springs open them at about 16psi and it creeps to 22psi, also there is a 6k convertor and powerglide mudling up the figures. It feels good to drive, goals for this car are 9s on pump and one day beat my uncles old wildbunch cars time of 8.60, all the while doing it with no stuff out the bonnet and stock exterior, full exhaust radial tyres etc
  5. My favourite colour!, a 4k in a KE20 was also my first engine build, only i was 17, but same deal spent ages detailing the bay like that. My first KE20 was that big bad orange colour. Nice work

    Lol hemi 6, nah not 800-1000 yet, made just short of 500rwhp on pump and on lowest boost the wastegates could hold, its hard to get it to show power on the dyno though as it has a 6000rpm convertor. Wont be using the shot the entire way, its configured to activate over 3000rpm and deactivate over 6000rpm, and only on 95% or more throttle etc so its there just as a kick up the backside before it makes boost.

    Going to take it to track on wednesday night, most probably keep it on the 295 street tyres, same tune as power cruise, pump fuel, gate open at 12psi boost stabilizes at about 22psi. Thinking about using a 75 shot off the foot brake before i test the transbrake. Have to rebuild the front calipers, change pads (they are farked), change inner driver tierod end, mount nitrous bottle, setup nitrous control on the ECU etc. Got alot to do but will try.

  9. Ok time to get back into this project, i had to cut the leaf springs up to make a stronger set for the 2jz ke20, does anyone have a spare set of leafs? i now also need a straight front bumper?

    I made it to powercruise, friday was a shocker though, i had a car loaded car trailer stop and reverse straight into the front of my car, destroyed my overrated bumper, eyebrow, headlight, grill and lower grill trim :fuzz:, then in the nex cruise session radiant heat from my dump pipe melted the plastic in my throttle cable and it locked on at 8500 revs in top gear, i lost control of the car and it did quite a few 360s in the infield still at full throttle until i finally found the key. It came very very close to rolling over, guessing i left the track at somewhere between 160-200 km/hr. Did not get much footage but compiled some

    Hey wont make jambo aiming for powercruise the week after for a shake down. Yep its caged up now, mini tubbed, hilux diff, 15x10 convos, 2 link, large anti roll bar, glide, 6k convertor. As the for the 1hp per KG well its kinda going to be heavy with me in it i suspect, engine 'should' be capable of 1000hp at flywheel fairly easily on c16 think i will be 100-200 hp short of 1hp to kg, all depends, i don't know the weight, and i don't know how much power it will make until i get there. Will just be on pump fuel for powercruise if i make it.

I am starting to get excited now with eta only a week away. Here is a pic of how it stands
  17. Inside the indicator/highbeam/lowbeam stick there is a few copper bridges and a plastic pin that pulls for low beam, and pushes for highbeam from memory, anyway that pin will be stuffed so when you are clicking back to low its not pulling the copper bridge and connecting the circuit.
  18. thats the plan, cleaned up the crank tonight, not more than 1/10 of a thou difference across the lot, bottom end assembly starts on the weekend. Car is progressing nicely, made caliper brackets for the rear today too so i can start on the brake lines now.
  19. Been doing some home reno's and can see the light at the end of the 2JZ ke20 tunnel so i am concerntrating on it at the moment, 5 weeks till its debut (providing i get the engine back soon)

  21. It will look stock, could probably get away with it but its not really worth it, i have a 3rd ke20 that does road duties, 3k, toyoglide, feel the g's :(

  23. 13BT_KE20 - it possible to clear the strut with a 3" dump, i have just enough room to squeeze a 4" pipe down the back of the engine so i am thinking of using a 3.5" dump, probably also going to cut and weld some 4" pipe into the strut tower to make a recess so the bend out of the turbo does not need to be so tight, i have about 1.5" of room inside the tower as the car has custom coilovers in it. Dunadan - yep the flea website seems to be down? i have had a few KE10s engine bay is not so accomodating :)
  24. Did some test fitting tonight on radiators and intercoolers, i can even fit a 12" thermo fan in there, here are some pics Here is the plate i made to convert the steering column from box to rack type I need a stock KE20 bonnet latch mechanism, anyone?
