  3. wow nice colour, she was a clean old rig to start with too! there is a few guys on here having some to steering clearance with sr's in KE20s, how did you get around this?

    mr ae71, have not really had a run with much in it yet but its a 140mph+ at the moment and will be a 160mp car once i hook up the boost controller. Its hard to race cars at powercruise as it was laggy, they'd pull a few car lengths then it would come on boost and stand up on the tyres, at powercruise it had 295x65x15s on it too lol 13BT KE20, i have raised the centre section in the rear that held the original bump stop, i run a half bump in there now but my 26.5" tall tyres will hit up in the guards before it hits i think. I have had my spring rear eye reveresed and the leaf made to sit in the car up side down and sit flat, this got the rear a bit lower and made the leaf spring angle in relation to the 2 link bars much better. Mine would not be as low as yours either. I have a 4" dump and twin 3" pipes and mufflers under it and they are about 75mm from the ground.

    Yep i connected the front sub frame to a roll cage point that was braced along with the front leafspring mount
  6. Been doing some more sanding and buffing and re-assembly on the CA18DET KE20, its very dirty in these pics as the last bit i buffed was the roof but you get the idea. Still got half the bonnet and passenger door and guard to go

  9. hahah yeah its hardly engineerable but correct thats not the point, i had a turbo 1uz in a vh commodore i just think all that torque would be an interesting drive in a ke20 :P
  10. i'd say convo pros but i'm bias haha, could go the 15" ford pursuit rims with chrome dress rims and whitewalls, or some 200sx/skyline rims although i don't know about the offsets

Yeah i bought that ute done, had 200sx brakes and calipers on the front holden disks and 300zx calipers on the rear, stopped stupidly well, very scary watching the misses fishtailing up the road over 100km/hr but she seemed to be able to handle it well, think her best et was 13.2, i used to manage 12.50s in same tune but i had a bit more experience getting it off the line and with swift gear changes (although i munched 2 boxs to her 0 lol) Here is a race from back in the day, she spins the thing passed 330feet hahah, note the ke20 still wins, stock 13bt, stock boost, 155x12x60 tires :D
  12. PMP haha no, although at the moment my feet have bamboo spots Ke10 hoon, i'd say it'd handle it ok with good tuning, pushed a mates stock na ca18 up to 300rwhp with an ebay t70 and that required lots of revs, only one way to find out :D

  14. cheers man, blocked back and buffed the roof last night what a mission, still got passenger door and front guard and half the bonnet to go. Then have to do window black outs and start putting glass and stuff back in. Bought the wife an SR20det 1200 ute once, that thing had a stock red top sr in it, stock ecu, stock t25, made about 15psi with the gate jammed shut and used to run mid 12s on street tires and get to coast and back on like $7 fuel, with a 50 shot on it it ran 11.9 @ 116, awesome reliable and fun car, should not of sold it i guess. But this is what i want to get back to, something i can go mucking around in and not have to worry about the plod comfiscating my 55k pride and joy Here is a vid (watch the sound at the start when the v8 shitbox making all its noise in its 1st gear skid)

The 2JZ one is ridiculous yes but its hard to have fun with it on the road, its the kind of engine thats either on or off and when its on shit happens fairly quickly and could go wrong very easy. This one has already run low 13s hitting the speed cut with small tires and with the stock locked diff, i plan to fit a decent diff, maybe an adaptronic ecu and a 75shot. Should push it into the low 12s high 11 et range eventually, in my experience a genuine 11sec 115-120 mph car is plenty fast on the road and not much will touch it. I also spend my week days driving a 3 cyl suzuki, do that for 2 months or so and a ca18det ke20 will feel fast enough haha :P
  16. Well there you go, do you know if the vk series 2 borg warner was the 25 spline 2 pinion ? only asking as i bought a 'vl' borg warner once for my turbo vh and it ended up being 25spline axle but was lsd which was weird
  17. How much is all this costing? and what are they actually doing if you supplied pre made mounts and pre shortened diff, pre made brake conversion etc? car looks tidy as, nice score.

  20. i used to struggle with screw drivers and stuff to get winders off until i realised you can just get a piece of cloth, slide it behind the winder and wrap it all the way around the back, hold the cloth in place and turn the winder, the cloth snags the clip and it pulls out, and tada winder is off
  21. Welcome to drag racing, prepare your wallet for emptying as its very addictive :P as far as i know VKs never came with a borg warner diff?, if infact it is a borgy its probably vl, if its a vk it'll be a 10 bolt salisbury. When is the asmathic sc12 coming off and the t28 going on?

I bought a CA18det powered KE20 from a rollaclub member before christmas, although well engineered the condition of the body and paint was sub par, have spent the last month or so fixing dents, changing panels and sanding, last couple of nights have been a bit more interesting as i am up to blocking back and buffing stage. I am making this car a bit of a clone to my other KE20, PHATKE20s hooked me up with some corona rims and it will be running some 14" whitewall nankang tires with dress rims and centre caps etc. Need to convert to 4x114.3 pcd for this to happen. Interior should clean up ok, after i have finished buffing and its all back together i need to pull the engine and tidy up in there. Here are some pics How it was Much panel work, had to swap doors with another set after these pics Starting to block back and buff, pics are not real good Chrome trims, badges, side strip and wheels will be similar to what i used to run on other 20 but with whitewalls
  23. Nice, inboard pedal setup gives you so much more room, on mine i reversed the brake master and put it up under the dash, no need for a clutch pedal for me though. I bet it moves along nicely :cool:
