  1. the ca18det auto ke20 i have looks to have had the stock tunnel cut out and a silvia or 180 tunnel welded back in if that helps.
  2. looks tough, can't believe you got a stock diff holding up to that lol, i was breaking axles with a 12a 6port, once locked the 13bt used to break teeth off the pinion or crown under power in 3rd haha not sure which first as it was usually pretty messy in there

hey mate, engine has crower billet I beam rods, JE forged piston, good bearings, modded oil pump, highly modified head, over size valves, HKS272 cams, ARP fasteners etc. Setup is all geared to work best at 35-40psi on 116octane fuel, to this date i am just running it with no boost control on 14 psi gate springs, it bleeds to about 21psi and runs on regular 98 octane pump fuel, it should be a little less laggy once i have some electrics hooked up to hold the gates closed for longer.

lol cheers, with some c16 and lots more boost the next dyno sheet should be far more impressive :jamie: was just fun to drive it for a change, car has a few things i need to fix before its enjoyable to drive so might look into that over christmas.

Drove the ol girl to a local dyno comp on sunday, chucked in some fresh 98 octane, still just running on 16 psi wastegate springs, creeps to 21psi at 8500rpm, netted 516rwhp on a 32 degree day, pretty happy at that :jamie: got to remember the car is hardly running a dyno friendly setup, 4.3 gears, 6k convertor, powerglide etc. No evidence of detonation, probably could of been a bit more agressive with the timing and raised the limiter to 9300 for a bit more but its relatively safe running as it is. So far i am loving the 2jz :no2: Some pics
  9. Nice shoes :P exciting times when it starts to look like a car again
  10. hehe i seen this on ebay too lol, thought wooohhaa thats a big firewall recess and wonder how heavy an all iron 265 is? i know i almost broke my back once trying to lift a head off one  What diff is in it?
  11. Like this thing alot, well done. If you're selling up whats next?
  12. I have put quite a few different types of engines in KE20s, might be able to help, pm me what you're after
  13. Nah mate that was cool, the fuel pump issues started on the way home, think it had to do with the heat and pressure in the fuel tank, on the way up the mountain it got a little hot initially and went back to check water level at the service station as not taking risks in a mates car, cheers for waiting anyways. Scott
  14. same deal, left at 2:10pm got home just before 6, stupid traffic jam, then fuel pump issues, then huge rain, light hail and lightning, thanks to the guys who stopped to see if i was ok. Sunburn is killer, was a nice drive, good to meet a few of you. Scott
  15. Providing i get up in time tomorrow (my bday party tonight) the i will be at springwood crazy clarks before 8:30
  16. Easy to listen if its an exhaust manifold leak, just grab a meter or so of hose, stick one end on your ear and use the other to listen around the manifold (engine running obviously), oil gets thinner as it gets hotter so any slightly bigger than normal valve/rocker clearance will become more noisey as the oil gets thinner.
  17. If you need somebody to have a listen and diagnose i live around your area. Cheers Scott
  18. Yeah original plan was to have a clone car, been thinking about keeping the green, probably easier to paint the bay again than to change all the interior colours though, can get the engine out in less than an hour in a 20, back in in probably the same + stripping brake lines/electrics not that hard really.

don't get me wrong i like rotors, the standard 12a 6 port i had in it originally was lots of fun, once i started trying to push the 13bt though i wasted alot of money in rebuilds, in my experience they are a real maintenance intensive, and rebuild parts alone cost alot of money. Piston engines can be built stronger and are generally more reliable (can't really get much stronger parts for a rotary as yet). In my case instead of using a small capacity highly stressed 4 cylinder as an alternative i decided to go for a 6 cylinder engine. So far its proved reliable and it already makes more power than the 13b ever could and i am not even leaning on it yet |blink| fingers crossed lol
  20. So my mother inlaw needs to borrow my suzuki for awhile so i dragged my ol 20 out, was about 8 pm last night that i found out, all the front panels were in various states of prep for paint, i found 1/4 tin of primer and 1/3 tin of black acrylic did the ol leopard look guide coat special so the panels match. Then had to dig up all the front end plasitcs and stuff, got it all together by about 10pm, interior back in gave it a quick tub and she was ready to go |blink| I forgot how much i enjoy bouncing around in the thing :(
