You could always buy/borrow a inverter to run off 12V
  2. You'd be surprised... most wreckers over here don't have pre ae92 stuff! I think they all just get sold in quokka. Corollas make the best pines bashers!
  3. Haha, yeah! That white ones pretty farked! Don't worry, us west aussies don't kill em like that often... actually its the first time I've seen early rollas at the auctions!
  4. And the white one;
  5. Came across a couple of old corollas on Pickles, here they are... KE70 - Brown Front end damage, 4K and Manual Brown KE70 KE70 - White Rear end damage, 4K and Auto White KE70 Wish there were some ke30-35-36-38-55 rollas there, shit happens! Brown KE70
  6. Even just buy a new tank. There currently is a $500 rebate for gas fitting in WA, I think all Aus gets it as well
  7. I said that about the XF's. Even watch out for EA's and EB's. Don't look for commos, no-one seems to convert the older ones. All the system is reusable, no matter what age, bar the tank. 10 yrs is the expiration period. You can get them retested for $70 (I think), most of the time they are still usable. I think that adds another 10 yrs. You could probably do it yourself for $300-$500 max, but you need a gas-fitter license or someone with one to have it legit. I think the shops that do it will check the fitting and sign the plate for a fee. Cheers, Dan
  8. Can you get conversion kits for fitting a 4AGE/2T (mounts, bellhousing) and how much would they be worth? 2T's are found in TA22's aren't they?
  9. Might add, if you want to see what they currently call 3D look up New Orleans, they did that in 3d. Before the flood that is.
  10. Haha, I've seen how much of a stir up the 60,000 and 70,000 post topics were, so I thought I'd put this on and see if us e-losers can break the record for acheiving 10000 posts on this site. Links: Rolla Boy's SPAMATHON He probably racked up 100 posts in this. End stirup.

Man, thats really shit to hear. What did they fail over the pits? Cos if its little things I can lend them to you to get em over. Why couldn't they let you get it over, its only a bloody 1300cc engine. If you took off the exhaust and put a stockie back on for a while they'd let you go. Trust me, they probably just reckon that your a hoon. Anyway, just hope your cousin gives you his coupe as replacement.
  13. boggedKE55 runs Kings, not sure how low but. Was reading on the Street Commodores forum a while ago that Kings make the hardest springs (harshest ride), but if you want to retain a bit of ride quality go Pedders. I was passenger in a VT when my family drove around VIC/NSW (Yay I actually drove Bathurst as the driver.) that had very low Kings, the ride was harsh and it rubbed the guards over bumps but on the Great Ocean Road we had no problems with grip/sway when we flogged it around there. Yes, it did tuck. Just as an indication of how low it was, it ran 17's with low profile tyres (very low profile) and it tucked. Would they be Low or Super Low?
  14. They're good on the speedway track though :n: thats what I am using it for. I would agree that it would be too high for the road...
  15. I agree with the idea of open-faced not being smart on bikes... Cheers Jamie for that, all my helmets are MX approved because they are ADR and the US one as well... Does anyone know where a good guide to fibreglassing is on the web?
  16. No probs mate...
  17. I did it because I thought he had something decent to say, so I proof read it. Wonder if my English teacher will take that as 'homework'... oh well.
  18. This topics all about painting and repairing Corollas, I'm talking from a little experience, I've used 3.5 kg of bog on my Rolla, have panelled three smashed Rollas and worked on Rolla race cars banging dents around. So discuss, if any one needs a hand with rust repairs and paint yell it out in here. You should be able to give a Rolla a decent paint job for around a little more then 300 dollars as long as you got a little bit of common sence and a few hook ups. If any ones having trouble picking their paint brands (bases and colours) just yell it out and have it discussed, theres a real art to spraying and the only way to pick it up is by hearing and seeing what others have to say, I've painted 2 Rollas and sure as hell ain't no pro, but every time I spray I'm getting better so yell out any questions in here! I've got 3 tins of paint I want to clear out real quick. They are metallics, 2 blues (ones more greeny) and a light silver, 3.5l each reasonable thin I'll sell them for $200 a tin, I'm a little strapped for cash at the moment, they're worth around $320 each and will look sick on any Rolla. So post away and lets see pics of all the Rollas with rust, faded paint and dents posted up. A few good before in between and after shots! Peace out and post away!
  19. Have you got CAMS license, or is yours in the mail and can I get one-day?
  20. Would a full face MX helmet (I have lightweight BMX too)be allowed in, or can I race open face or full face Road Race helmet? I decided that I'll do some bog work on the coupes quarter, paint it and put it on the sedan. Then I'll make a fibreglass bonnet. Or at least try to.
  21. Yeah, thats what I thought (hence the reason I'm looking for 4.5's for the Coupe). Strange but.
  22. Emmets got me bloody interested in this. I can race khanacross, on the 24th September. I can get the license pretty much straight away (I can get L2NSJ (non-speed) and L2SJ (speed) ) by filling out a form. Simple as that. I have a fire extinguisher, I have access to race suit. I was just wondering about my KE55 (Preston, your old car.) Its got minor front end damage, could simply get another panel, bonnet and bumper and it'd be fixed. Runs perfectly though, good motor, good gearbox, good diff. Would they let me in with the damage, or would I have to fix it? They say that scrutineering is just mechanical but I don't believe that because they wouldn't let a rust heap go in.... So yeah, any feedback would be appreciated. Its not a licensed car, and my CAMS license will be in the mail tomorrow.
  23. Just looked at site, it says that YES, i can race it (over 14 yrs as long as I have parent consent) but the driver has to have competed in previous khanacross event. Bugger, it got me all excited. Still, I'll have to see what they let slip as 'fire-retardant clothing', whether they mean racesuit or just wool clothing. Leather shoes are required. And a fire extinguisher. But I got both of those... do you need a rollcage to enter or can you run without a cage? I might just have a chat to the bloke... also would the Junior CAMS license for speedway work with khanacross? And how much is it worth for a one-day license.... Cheers, Dan And how often do these events run in WA?
  24. Well, this is the KE20 ex-racer that my old man picked up for me. Its pretty buggered, but its got the cage, seat, harness, fuel tank, locked 4:3 and the millions of other little bits and pieces that save me a shitload of dough. The car hadn't been raced since 2000, and has been sitting out in the weather since then, but luckily the seat and harness hadn't been damaged... Heres a pic of when we got it...
  25. Mmmmm.... twin throttle bodies...
