  1. not really interested in selling them.... yet. i just spent $70 on paint and put 6 hours labour into them.
  2. Just don't utilise the advertisements until its been sorted. You should have no problems
  3. sounds like it should run to your vacuum secondaries.
  4. taking these into Bob Jane's tomorrow for some new tread.
  5. Can anyone tell me where I can find a set of centre caps to suit a 70mm centre? I need a set for the Cheviots i'm using on my ke55 and can't find anything.
  6. that's worth a rep point!
  7. no offense intended. e-m-o
  8. Granny visor? ..................you should be calling this thing the 'Accesorator' or something of the like.
  9. wanted to have these finished with new tyres before friday... i'm not liking my chances. .................NB: steel wool hurts fingers after extended periods of time.
  10. Hey, you just watch yourself buddy! Things are slow on the 20 now so i'm going to start investing time on the 55.
  11. From memory as bad as it is, i think the timing kit was 'power drive'.
  12. From what i've heard anything up to a 70 will fit in but i'm not sure on the geometry. I know the hubs and brakes fit though so i've just gotta wait till i get the car back. Good shit on the diff Des. I'll hit you up soon.
  13. the ACL rebuild kit came with all bearings and thrust washers, gaskets, pistons and rings. no timing gear other than gaskets. I had the reco shop 3 way seat and grind my valves. make sure you check the diameter of your crank mains. the crankshaft had slipped a bigend bearing previously and had obviously been machined. standard bearings were too small. luckily i had a spare crankshaft.... Can't remember the brand of the timing kit but it was along the lines of SUPER RACE!!!
  14. Yeah, using ke70 front struts and brakes and i'm still hunting a diff and rear brakes. i'll either modify a ke30/55 diff or use the centre and shortened axles out of a 70 if it proves to hard to find.
  15. I've started cleaning up the cheviots for the 55. An hour and a half saw one almost finished. I'll finish polishing the rim and give it a couple of coats of clear....
  16. the 4k sump I had fit straight on, no problems. the lower section is shorter. so as to clear the main cross member. my pistons are ACL standard replacements. not bad quality at all. Des I got my 5k full rebuild kit for $480 through beenleigh bearings and a double row timing kit for $135. worth every cent. Taz_Rx - I'm having my pushrods shortened to save on cash. Thankfully my dad's got the skills.
  17. I'm using a 4k sump on mine so I don't need to worry about it. The "5k flat top" pistons are refered to as O dish in the parts manual. Though apparantly you can use 4a pistons, I never looked into it as compression ratio could become an issue for a supercharged motor. I converted the lifters to holdwen solids, but have had to shorten the pushrods. Unless your going crazy Des just leave is hydraulic. Though you will have to get them refaced when you get the cam done or buy new ones.
  18. I changed the fuel filter and now it's not drawing fuel. It has been suggested the pump has been airlocked but I think I really need to dump the old fuel before I start getting into it. I won't get a chance to look at it till next weekend.
  19. Just bought a dash mat off ebay!
  20. Sore head, face, arms and legs. That's how I know it was a good night.

  21. There are 2 types of 5k dished piston. O dish and D dish. I also have O dish in my 5k.
  22. dished.... CR is 9.3:1 as standard.
  23. That's a negatory!
  24. not sure there would be a great deal of difference in the fuel pumps. Though the 3k carby and manifold has far less pollution gear you'll want to be careful it doesn't run to lean because .....POP!
  25. Having the same problem with my ke55. It had an idleing problem. I changed the spark plugs yesterday now it doesn't run. Plenty of sprak. I realised it still had leaded fuel coming through the lines when we changed the fuel filter. Now it's not getting fuel at all so either the fuel line is blocked with some of the muddy fuel coming through or the pump is f@$ked.
