  2. the 4k flywheel WILL fit on the 5K engine..... hope you're not confused now.
  3. the cr is realitively high i think.....with the timing advanced on the engine my old starter motor had a hard time cranking the bitch over. the head is actually a 3K tosco spec head.......i was told by the previous owner never to let it out of my sight......so i been told they are fairly rare. the chev lifters didnt really feel that much lighter to the hydro ones....but i can't exactly remember how much lighter.

  5. or 81.5mm fully bored out. < the size mine is. felix: i didnt change the valves at all....they are the ones that came out and went straight back in. i don't know the final cr or how much metal was ground off.....it was done at a very cheap price (mates rates) and i don't think i ever got a card with the head to say what had been done.
  6. ok sorry....havent been near my computer in the last 2 hours....been under the engine bay of my car..... dastun a12 pushrods. chev solid lifters. same as holden six and 253 v8 holdens, and yes the pistons are dished. i couldnt find any flat top ones, i havent had any problems with comp ratio either. max power on my 411 lift cam is around 7500rpm, i can truthfully tell you that my engine revs to 8 grand easily. i still havent had it valve bounce.
  7. sorry to dig up an old thread guys.....however i do have an update for you irokin: you don't have to read it if you don't want to........ thanks to jamie and the help and guidance of the rollaclub team i have successfully completed the 4K - 5k engine transplant, although i had a few problems straight after dropping the engine in, i have figured them out, (i'll list them below) after a couple of months of driving the car i have seen a great improvment in power and torque, most of the time fuel consumption is pretty high, however that is to be expected with a 4.1L falcon webber sitting on top of the engine. For now the engine will stay as is, and i will start to fix up the interior. the problems i talked about before included the sump gasket leaking at the back of the engine, at first we thought is was the rear main seal. but apon inspecting it (after removing the gearbox) it was a relief to find that it was only leaking a small bit. the other problem as mentioned in other posts was the car puffing out blue smoke, after a chat with jamie the other day i decided it was time to do somthing about it. last weekend my brother and i removed the valve springs (with a valve spring compressor) and found out that when the head was done up there was no valve stem seals put back on. Jamie told me to try using ford cortina valve stem seals however they didnt really fit well and my brother ended up going back to his workshop and bringing back a set of nissan pulsar ones (he seems to think they were off an N14 engine). they were the press on type and took only a couple of minutes to do each valve stem. so i am proud to say that i have learnt alot about K engines, thanks to the rollaclub and my brother.   8. you can read about my engine build up....here Engine Build Up lets just say that the 5k has lots of torque......and as you can see with those pictures.....a 3K bigport head, ported out more. parts that are unique i have listed in my signature below....
  9. i'm running a 4k flywheel, it was the only spare one i had at the time i needed to machine it.....as seen here.... btw, if you're wondering what a 5K looks like....... mmmmmm.....5K goodness
  10. don't quote me on this but i've heard that the 5k flywheel is bigger than the 4k one and the 4k box wont fit onto the 5k engine.....again don't quote me on that......i'm pretty sure i read it somewhere but can't remember where.
