  1. do coventries really sell shims for 1g, same as 3s ge etc, for like a buck or 2 per shim? theres your homework for the week  if they do i find that very exciting ;) cheers, andrew
  2. hmmwv suck too, theyre too heavy and just get stuck unless on gravel. smaller jeeps are very good when worked. i watched a twinlocked jeep with longarm front end in it and some nice 33's make some shit look easy that LWB twin locked patrols on 35's took about an hour to do. but then the jeep got stuck too. don't write them off too easily...
  3. got a link mate?
  4. lol, i know how to make my own, very easy really, just gotta get off my arse and buy the steel.
  5. well the big rubber damper is supposed to eliminate all those vibrations
  6. billzilla on toymods is prob one of your best bets, he knows his shit, been messing with clubmans and 4as for a long long time
  7. i would go air locker in front and leave the rear in the patrol LSD air lockers for getting my way up rocks, i can always get the wheels up a step, but then its on such an angle the rear can't push and the front just single spins so i end up falling back down (hence my attrocious sill damage) that wheel being off the ground by a foot probably shows the limit of the droop flex, while not bad for a leaf sprung truck, I'm sure you can see the difference between that a coily ute. whatever keeps you happy though, and I'm sure mine cost alot more than yours so its kinda like argueing about apples and oranges.... happy wheeling bloke :lolcry:
  8. my ke70 does just fine with a 3" 1 peice shaft. doesnt weigh much anyway and i think you get a better angle with a single shaft
  9. I'm not trying to start an arguement either, I'm just a nissan 4wder, enlightening you all  at then of the day, lockers are better than an open diff, and the nissan LSD craps all over the yota one, and is nearly as good as a locker. in my truck i would lock the front and leave the rear, thats how much i like the LSD have you ever seen a coilcab patrol flex the way they should? leave springs are good at carrying load, but they are restricted in how much they can flex, ill see if i have any good pics of mine.. there are tracks i drive where I'm already scraping my bullbar to get the nose up it, thats how steep the ramp rate is, smaller lift and tyres and i would have no hope in hell. and at the end of the day, better than anything is a winch. .... or a hummer ....NOT haha and thats maxed out on the shocks, with about 3 or 4 inches left in the spring and it scrubs the chassis rail on the side thats tucked...front end needs a little work yet
  10. pics of location :lolcry:
  11. then you havnt looked very hard, mate 5 mins down the road from me, there is a chicken track that i can only get up on good days, with a 4" lift, and 35" tyres. the track it is chicken to is called tower of terror, theres a few videos of ormeau tower of terror on youtube if interested, and the vids make it look really easy, as its only got harder, the chicken track is now harder than the tower was when the vids were taken. (had a very wet few months up here) hiluxs don't articulate...theyre IFS and leaf sprung rear...not much more to say about that. hiluxs fall over alot, also known as sleeping cow syndrome, just like discos. wats a new lux weigh anyway? probably more than my GQ weighing in at 2T. i know what id rather have lug me around the icefeilds...mechanical injection FTW
  12. was a great episode but a landbruiser or patrol would have done it better, hiluxs are extradornarily crap at 4wding to be honest...
  13. conditional rego? surely you wouldnt last long before getting pulled over if you were infact street driving that? and ballpark, what was that work worth? PM me if you would like that is a very tough looking cage, alas i don't think i could get away with that in a weekend warrior....
  14. pretty sure its a 3k-r give up all hopes and dreams of owning one. you never will. sorry
  15. what transfer fees? do you mean stamp duty?
  16. lol, what ended up letting go?
  17. last time i checked it was insurance prices thread for a 19 year old in a ke70.... maybe give us an idea of what you were paying on whitey when you were a young tacker? point I'm trying to make is your point is not useful to the thread ive been driving without insurance on my patrol ute which is pretty much gonna go over the top of most things if i hit them for 9 months. i know its incredibly stupid, but i just havnt got around to insuring it yet. a grand is alot of money to find, but i know its gonna be more if i nail a nice new sports car and ddrop his roofline 5". rego will be about 350 for 6 months, start getting quotes now, theyre open late everynight ring everyone you can think of and right them all down. then pick the cheapest. some have better options than others, once you ring a couple, you will have the knack of what your asking. if you pass rwc first day, then you go straight to qld transport and get it rego'd. then you get your insurance, can do it in a day if it all goes right :jamie:
  18. so when ya gonna shave your head matt?
  19. someone else bring a cam too, tabby wont make it
  20. what was the point of posting that nick, its obviously completly irrelevant...
  21. why not? if your paying all the bills, and they get more benefits for having more policies... win win :(
  22. just car will be around 438 i think from memory? theyre good for modified cars, but not the cheapest... who are your parents insured with? register it in yours and their name, and get your insurance put in with the more than 1 policy discount... worked for me..
  23. did you check all of mine matt?
  24. lolz, where we're going, we don't need governors :(
  25. the work laser? wtf man! lol, bring the ke70, do you know how long its been since ive been in a corolla? :)
