  1. Ok, so I put the cams in last night and dialed in the shims, took freaking ages. Wouldnt start. Pulled the timing belt off and checked all my timing marks which were all sweet. Put it all back together, the timing belt was being a c-nut. Eventually got it all back together and running , went to take it for a drive and it bogged under load. Figured out I had rotated the crank a tooth when doing the timing belt. Once I sorted that out the starter motor gave up the ghost. Luckily I had gotten my missus to grab a spare off a mate in Brizzy. Threw that in, the heat shield didnt have a mount on the new one so tied it on with wire. Still wouldnt start. Pulled the dizzy out for what felt like the 50th time, out by a tooth. BAM. Done, humming. All this was done on my driveway in the rain. It needed to be done because I am 100% broke and the AW11 is the only car I have with fuel in it. And this is my Darwin Award submission.
  2. God dammit work properly you piece of shit.
  3. cams cams cams cams Shims can bite me.
  4. Might look at 3s down the track. I have grown pretty fond of 4a's though. New problem : starter motor is toast. Checked everything, bypassed everything. No dice. :(
  5. Screw it, not even dropping the price to bugger all is selling it. I'm gonna keep it for another rego period.
  6. Choice bro.
  7. Just saw a plug for this on Weekend Sunrise. Still on my bucket list.
  8. Don't ke30 and ke55 have different indentations in the body to suit the different bumper ends?
  9. You could probably buy an entire ke55 with good bumpers for less than getting them re-finished.
  10. Buy good ones. You should be able to get a decent pair for less than $200, I got my 9/10 set for $60. If you want show car 10/10 overrated as then you'd need to get them straightened and re chromed, be willing to fork out a few bucks. I saw someone selling NOS KE30 bars somewhere not long ago so new ones are still around if you hunt. And are willing to pay good money for them.
  11. Gotta get those sweet fake internet points.
  12. Maybe rolled guards. Took the twinky wheel out, was too big for the steering. Went back to the smaller cheapie 'drift' wheel, feels way better. Might keep an eye out for a nice aftermarket wheel now, or try swap the twinky for one.
  13. I'm assuming so you can use the same gear on both inlet and outlet cam.
  14. You can see both the knock pins 180 degrees out from each other in the pics. There are two pin holes per cam gear.
  15. I run one off each hook bolt hole to the same point on the chassis. You can never have enough earths.
  16. Yeah I'd wanna keep mine similarly clean looking, paint the new lip the same as the car. Been offered these as a trade but they are only 15x7.5 +15, which will sit about the same as the wheels on it +/- a few mm. Similar size on the front of this
  17. There should be a decent sized earth coming off one of the engine hook bolt holes to the chassis.
  18. The earth on your head hasnt come off?
  19. I'm just thinking plain old boring normal ones.
  20. Wmmh: new job. Taking a risk on this company as it's new but sometimes you gotta roll the dice.
  21. Not a fan of widebody kits. Much prefer bolt on flares.
  22. Thought the exhaust gasket was blown already but turns out by dodgy job of plugging the EGR hole on the exhaust was the noise. Put a bolt through it and no more issues. Also widened the front tint strip a bit so its lower than factory, way better than using a sticker and looks the same with the benefit of being able to see through it.
