i want to run an oil cooler on my 4k once its built if it needs it, i have an oil temp gauge to go in the car see i'll what temps it runs and then put a cooler on if its needed

ok i figured it was i just don't know enough to be sure has a bit of corrosion around the water jackets I'm going to see if a mate can have a look at it and tell me if its repairable.If it is i'll swap all the rocker gear,valves,double valve springs etc over and just get this one cleaned up and get the exhaust ports opened up because i think the other one i have has be shaved to far

So i bought a 4k engine & k50 off a mate the other day out of a standard grandma ke70. I started pulling the manifolds off this morning and thought those ports look big so could anyone tell me if this is a 3kbp ? I measured the ports with some plastic veneer calipers and got Intake port - 31mm Exhaust port - 21mm My ported head i got from japan ports are Intake port - 28mm Exhaust port - 23mm Pics also the valve spring retainers look different to the ones on my other head I will take the head off today and see what condition it 's in

Ah they are the silk road ones all i can say is the cusco stuff bolts up to ke2o so i would asume the toyota parts would be what you want? but don't quote me on that :hmm:

What camber tops are you getting? i just ordered TE27 cusco camber tops whatever comes standard with those fits fine on my ke20 shocks but that may be different if you have 86 struts. hope this helps

Yeah i have Ke20 struts converted to coil overs, cusco camber tops & strut brace for the front & 2 inch flipped leaves with trd green adjustable shocks waiting to go in.The flipped leaves wont be staying they are just to work out what hight i want then i'll get my other ones reset properly to the right hight. I can't wait to have this on the road with suspension sorted then i can start working on my spare 4k

Thanks mate the paint isn't that nice tho.the original wheels are just on for rego inspection once that is all sorted i will have the streets back on with my good suspension in. This is taking tooo long i need to get off my ass and get this registered ASAP :bash:

I'm keen to see what this cam is like once you have the car tuned i was considering 150A for my 4k build but after speaking to the guys at tighe i will be going with something broader rpm range

yeah there is a gap in the contacts in the low beam position i just bent them enough so they would contact when you pull the stalk back to the flash position as they weren't contacting before

Hey guys I'm having a little problem with my high beams on my ke20. Problem was when you pull the stalk back towards the wheel to flash the high beams i got nothing at,all headlights lights went off (flicking the stalk forward high beams work fine) so i pulled the switch off the steering column and had a look found that 2 contacts weren't contacting.so i slightly bent them in a bit so they contact and now beams come on when you pull the stalk back but stay on and don't return to low beam until you flick all the way forward to high beam then back to low beam again.So does anyone know how to get the high beams to flash to high then you pull the stalk back then back to low when you let the stalk go?

Well long time no update...things have been moving along slowly finally got new windscreen,seat belts stock rims for rego unfortunately when i went to install one of the new seat belts it had a cut in the belt :hmm: lucky i noticed it so that needs to come out and get swapped over.went on the bay to birdwood everything ran smoothly was the longest drive ive taken it on since iv had it.The clutch is slippy and the gearbox is a bit suss so ill be on the look out for another ke70 5 speed picked up a new clutch that i will probably chuck in with my light flywheel when i swap over the gearbox also rollmaster timing chain set for the engine rebuild that i will be doing on a 4k I'm getting off a mate soon. everyone likes pics...

Yeah i'm not happy about it its pretty un motivating which sucks because the car is so close to being finished It's just a small dent and a few deep scratches on the bonnet but i will most likely need to re spray the bonnet
