  2. I bought this from japan i think they are made by some small aftermarket parts company for a kp61 starlet. Works perfectly since i installed it over a year ago

    1. Tally

      Tally

Get some twin mikunis on that 4k man, got a setup here.

  7. I don't think there are any bolt on options. I have the exact same problem in the hills with the same brakes. I'm going to attempt to fit jap ae86 disks /calipers with custom brackets etc
  8. The pump i did this to came out of a well thrashed 4k that looked like it hasn't had too many oil changes later in its life (as you can see in the pics above) it also has a broken piston skirt and the pump was still well within specs. I don't think wear would be much of a problem with this mod. After a quick clean up and new split pin
  9. Cool thanks for the confirmation,i have 2-3 pumps here so i'll pick the best one to start with when it comes time to rebuild. Hopefully i will be able to post up pics ect of of my rebuild showing how to do certain things as its great reading about what to do but pics make things much easier.
  10. Ok round 2 Remove split pin Be careful as the spring and cup are under tension and will pop out don't want to lose either Remove spring and cup Place 3mm shim in spring cup as recommended in how to build a tough k motor Replace spring, cup, shim and split pin.I'm assuming this is the correct way to do it,if not please feel free to correct me.
  11. Ok didn't think it would be that easy i'll have a look at one of my spare motors tomorrow and see if i can work it out
  12. My friend had a Stagea i wasn't overly impressed can't really say too much about them as i never drove one.My mum owns a second gen GT-T caldina and I'm fairly impressed with the car. It's quite reliable she's driven it from sydney to adelaide & over to vic and back to adelaide. its had a few regular maintenance such as radiator and few other wear and tear things done. Its fairly quick for what it is her's is auto and the manual mode with shift buttons on the steering wheel is cool it shifts nice and fast too. feels like its got more power than my sisters WRX Club spec evo thing and does fairly well in the hills in stock form even tho its due for new front shocks. everyone thats been it it has been impressed.I'd personnaly go with the Caldina plenty of room in them too.Set of coilovers and wheels & tyres is all it needs.
  13. Ok i've read about shimming k series oil pumps on the forums and in the how to build a tough k motor FAQ for more oil pressure but i have never seen how it is actually done. So is this what i do or have i got it all wrong? Undo this bolt in the side of the oil pump Remove bolt to find spring Place 3mm washer / shim inside bolt to add more tension to spring then reassemble Is it all that simple? If not can someone tell me how its done. Thanks, Haydn
  14. My KE20 runs TRD green shocks on 3rd click from softest with standard leaf pack with second from the bottom leaf flipped on top of the pack (temporary) adding my TRD 2 way seemed to make the rear end feel like it pulled around corners better as in less pushing in the front end.there is definitely more cornering grip as well as traction you would expect and predictability its nice to know what the rear is going to do once it does let loose.IMO the LSD is a good addition to improve handling not only just traction. hope this helps
  15. Pretty sure my buddy who works there worked on it because it was dropping oil on the showroom floor haha
