Once again 2 oil caps!
-
Sweeeet, P/s arms?
-
You got coilovers for this?
-
I disagree, doing a 4age for $5k is very do-able.. It's the rest of the car that takes up all the cash. You'll easily spend that much again when you do suspension, brakes, bodywork, wheels, diff upgrade, then decide to do engine work..
-
Mates corona wagon was extractors, 2.25 whole way through to a glass packed resonator on the end.. Was loud, but not unbearable, didn't really drone but the backfires.. farkkk, was like 10 seconds of keybanger style pops everytime you let off
-
Haha, Getting a bit sick of messing with K motors i think! I've got a engine plan for this already set i'm just doing all the suspension etc first. It's pretty gnarly at times even auto.. so stuff more power on stock suspension! Crow said my cam has is done so i should get that back next week hopefully and i can put my engine and box together
-
I doubt it.. I mean, My mate has an ae71 wagon, reset leaves no blocks, KYB shocks, rolled eyes and a weldy in the rear.. He doesn't competitively drift it, just chucks it around back streets, late nights etc everynow and then.. And after driving it, it doesn't tramp that much under normal driving, even with a weldy.. It's as soon as you chuck it out that it tramps and shudders pretty bad
-
Leaf springs can go alright for drifting, You just want to remove as much tramp for the rear end as you can
-
I makita'd your wagon bro. It's a bit shit as i had to rotate the car to lower it because of the angle of photo but.. You get the idea

Cuts' Ksev Soon To Be Cae70 And St205 Group A Rally
Jono.C replied to Cuts's topic in Rollaclub Rides
Ahh so this is the ke70 i see in photo's of luke's? Sits pretty tough! -
Mine has the holes for them, the '69 i got parts from 2 weeks ago had the holes for them and one i looked at a few months ago for parts also had them and that was a 68?
-
My 67 doesn't, My 69 has the bits for it but it's had aftermarket retractables fitted instead. I think the early 67's don't but after that they should have seatbelts. If there's holes in the floor etc for them, You'll need them

Tyres are so small!
-
Yeah you'd think it does! I reckon it's got like sigma arms in it and like 9" superlights.. too much poke to be 8's.. they also mlook like 16's to me?

http://hitandrundc.com/2012/02/16/crossroads-spicys-sr-ke70-just-around-the-corner/ "spicy says: February 16, 2012 at 6:36 pm oh yea and its all 86 front end cause otherwise it steers shitty!"
-
Aye? The Hitandrun drift club KE has s13 gear? The bloke said it's ae86 stuff 'cause he reckons s13's shit.. Which it is
-
Going back to ke10 struts Ke10 struts have an offset knuckle, so the balljoint hole in the knuckle is actually on a tab on the front of the knuckle, not in the centre of the knuckle.. This means the stub axle is straight up and down unlike ke70 etc, which is why you end up with so much track on a ke70 strut etc, you're pushing the bottom of the strut out nearly 2" before you even intentionally add any track.. and you still have positive camber even when you use cambertops (which is why jordain etc bent their struts) So i'll have less track, and more camber adjustment at the top while keeping it all relatively in the guards :)
-
I do agree with you on that. Then again though i can't talk as my ke10 has mad track, Not by choice though..
-
There is a reason you want negative offset in drift cars though, more track and offset = wheels further away from steering parts = more lock There's a 20v Ke70 here with notched chassis rails it has that much lock.. I like the sorta wheel 1/2 out tyre still in look, but this kinda looks shits me to tears
-
Eh. Hotrods are different. They actually have a kinda decent chassis under them, and it just wouldn't be right having one with a SR or something. I just don't get the appeal to cut out half your floorpan to fit a 40 year old engine in.. I just don't get the V8 corolla idea.. Plus with the weight thing, it's not just the weight of the engine, the gearbox's are bloody heavy as well.. especially the auto's. You've also got weight in places it didn't before, like hanging over the strut towers.. which could go either way for steering purposes. Then you'd most likely need custom headers, which are an arm and a leg, per side, which you have fark all clearance for because of pitman arms Plus it's not just the length/ width of a v8, it's the height! 350's aren't a short engine, so you have weight sitting up the top of the engine bay you didn't before, rasing the centre of gravity.. Or if you drop the motor right down unless you go dry sump (expensive) then you wont be able to lower the car and it'll probably roll or handle like ass anyway.. And what's the outcome? You can do 3rd gear in a burnout pad.. wew, you can't register it properly and the shell will fall to pieces within months, plus you can't work on it because everytime you need to do something you have to pull the engine out of it.. And you'll STILL get beaten by a tough SR or a Decent rotary.. The hotrod idea really isn't relevant..

I'm not debating that an LSD is/ isn't a good idea, I just think for the outlay it's not worth it on a factory diff..
-
I did have some you could have had for nothing but i gave them to 'Nostalgia' last week! I'll have a look around though i think i may have another pair here if you get stuck
-
Nope! You can't use the ke10 hubs i'm afraid, You'll need the ke20/25 ones :) Glad my guide thing can help!
-
I really don't see the point in a LSD in these diffs.. The axles are so weak, and if you get like billet axles or something the uni's are so small you'll just break them anyway.. Get bigger uni's you'll smash the centre.. I'd track down a TA22 diff :)
-
Now has a white bonnet back on it. :) This is going to take longer than i thought.. There's still a lot of parts i need to buy to start piecing it together.. Sump gasket, Timing cover gasket, Extractor Gasket and Headgasket Fit reground cam, Weber, Extractors, Ke10 water pump, Do timing, Plugs, Points, Valve clearances etc MK1 Golf Shocks, Shorten struts, weld on coilovers Machine top hats and tie rod ends Wheel bearings, Brake hoses Tyres Balljoints Speedo Cable Ke30 yoke and new uni Weber filter Plus there's the whole labour side of it, the manual conversion etc Then wheel alignment and having an exhaust made.. I was going to start it next week but i think i'll wait a month or 2 now, make sure i have everything and then do it. I can't go too long without having this rocketing around!
