  1. Lately i've become a massive fan of rat rod patina. Basically it means an old car that hasn't been restored. Accepting the fact the car is super old, rusty, but keeping the beast going. Anyone can resto a car and say look how shiny my thing (pun intended) is. but having a period machine, done a zillion k's car........that is cool.
  2. It's all at least a 1000ks from my place...so you don't have to give the secret up. but I gotta ask....where the hell are these treasures? I spied an AP6 valiant safari and half a VE valiant next to the cedric. I know you SA boys take valiants for granted, but that is pure gold. Boo
  3. I'll def be there. Happy to help working it out. My folks live down that way and spent many a P plate year driving those roads. Going back that way for mothers day. PM me for what you have in mind.
  4. and triumph 2500 g'box...BW35. 19 nut and bolts. Where a ford with same box has 6. Oops. sorta hijacked a thread. sorry. Badges are cool.
  5. Is this happening? I've got my rolla sorted!
  6. When the open ended spanner is too big. Stick your hand in your pocket. Coins, churchies etc make the best shims, money CAN buy! you'll never break one!
  7. much betterer! To my taste!! hail to the matt black!
  8. LMAO, I got to the title..enough said! And yes I remember the 80's 3 seconds was wayyyyyyyy too long
  9. stop it!
  10. That was cool. Although there is a hulk resemblance :P I'm loving all of the dead weather at the moment!
  11. The dead weather 60 feet tall http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DeVdC3GI21U check out Jack White on the drums!
  12. Spent my apprenticeship being called Kunta Kinte by the boss. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kunta_Kinte It wasn't pleasant. I qualified and got the f@$k outta there. Now I'm nice, clean and warm. i agree with mrmoparman........DON'T MAKE YOUR HOBBY YOUR JOB. But it is a nice skill to have!! To finish off my bullshit, i qualified as a mechanic. Not taking anything away from the builders, but if you haven't served time in a shop...well you haven't served time. No pay and no future. All mechanics will understand. Builders talk about working outside. Try, 2 degrees C, pissing rain and being told that radiator has gotta be fitted before you go home. Car is outside. Water running down your nose as you work! Heated off? Not even a concept! outdoor boys have it easy! gets to 37 and they all piss themselves! You're not going home until the car is finished! Bamboo
  13. Quick Q? a mate of mine has an early disc front end laying around. stubs, discs, callipers etc. Would need a rebuild. What are you going to upgrade with? The early discs aren't great with the solids but lets you keep the small pattern. Anything beats drums! Boo.
  14. Yep, I hate you..LOL Great minds etc...
  15. Check the oil level. It won't help the slack, but 'rollas are well known to drop their oil. Trev, your turn to beat me to it!
  16. I don't break anything ( i think). I just hit reply to a PM and it comes......good luck. The state filter. It's so damn sexy! I gotta get out more
  17. Had a peekyboo at MoparMarket. Looks good. Thanks. I tried to join and got this..... The e-mail address you entered is not allowed to be used. So I can look, but I can't touch. Looks like I'm forever Bamboo  Edit. So I don't give up. I went to a small email provider on the basis that when they lock e-mail addresses out they only target the main ones. I WIN. my "new" e-mail ends in @australiamail.com. Now I'm registered. I was nowhere near as creative as gspec. I'm splitbench!
  18. So a question for irokin. How bad is spam on rollaclub?
  19. Yep, i do. doesn't mean I actually use it. I've been on the net for 10+ years and have never used an ISP e-mail. I like to travel and find web based e-mail convenient. The joining requires you to "translate" encrypted garble to join which negates the difference. So an example is I'm a rollaclub member with no grief, but with this............. boo
  20. Which is absolute shit. If you want people to discuss cars, please join the 21st century. we don't all use ISP e-mail!! Their loss, no val discussion for them!
  21. I was surfing away and found the hemi6 website. As I own a Val, I thought I'd take a look around. I was told you can't view unless your a member.I'm told it's free. So I try and join. I'm then told my e-mail has been banned and I have to report it to get through. I reported and have waited 4 hours, with no response. I thought forums wanted people to join, not make their life a misery. Which is why I support rollaclub. by the people, for the people! Bamboo
  22. Went to pick a part in kilsyth for the first time in years. Was a KE55 with 66k on the clock. 5 speed is gone, but the body. Oh my. It had some scars and a little rust but I driven cars much worse! The rear cloth blue seats had no cracks!!! Too bad it was a sedan!
  23. Fact only post. 6/77 hardtop has both bolt holes for transmissions. not fact. Suspect that when the trimatic came toyota had to stamp 2 different floor plans hence only the bolt holes required. in the similar vein 2 mk II escorts. Autos had a bigger tunnel. As pointed out a graph is needed in this thread...does it fit? what car? etc!
  24. The other half is coming around....loved her 74 civic to the point she cried when my sister got it. She's a Japanese import. Helps when translating car websites!!!!!!!!!!! later gspec boo
