  2. JIP, I didn't appreciate all the difference in the post '81 models. I was down at a Vic DIY wreckers today and they had one. so different! wow. Not my cuppa tea but an awesome difference. congrats on the dedication. bamboo
  3. Jason12, what the F$%k U doing in Horsham?
  4. Nice work KEhendo, I'll bring my tools.......just in case!!
  5. New photos
  6. 'cause a man wakes up one day and say why the F&*k. Saying that it's my pride 'n' joy. The baby that lives in the garage. I now pursue all that is Japanese! I do know one thing. I never GIVE up. If you start a project, it must be finished.
  7. one more
  8. When I finished my apprenticeship, this was my baby. yes it was a love. A factory V8 regal with bench seats. would I do it again? No F&*kin' way
  9. Eat my hat! I was at Centre Road Wreckers in Melb. Not a heap to choose from but in the ready to be crushed in the "you can't touch it pile" was a KE20. from what i saw it had a nice grill/front. I F$%king hate knowing there is a rarer beast in that pile. PS i'm sure if you really wanted something, money talks!!
  10. Good work. Well impressed. Keep rolling. Oops. Keep crowning. Glad to hear she does have that "warm" feeling. I suggest the genuine red Toyota coolant to keep that oh what a feeling. I suppose your next job is to source a genuine tacho dash! they definitely had 'em. Enjoy your ride!!
  11. Yesterday going down Springvale Rd in Wheelers Hill. I was in my KE35. A KE 2door white rego "ICV" came up beside and gave me the thumbs up. Anyone here?
  12. Gauges and dash lights have a "step down" to 10 volts. this stops flicker with the 12-14 volts from the alt. If you start tapping this it can cause trouble. Murd has the right idea. LED's draw next to no current allowing you more "play" amps. You can have super bright LED's and not tax the system. the other thing that can play havoc is the dimmer knob. Looks innocent? can be the cause of a lot a light headaches when it burns out. Good luck
  13. My 2 cents I've got a troopie with those calipers. if they can pull up a 2 tonne diesel truck, they'll stop ANYTHING! Kangaroosa, that is one pro conversion you've done. Good work. You've obviously got a bad back for a living!! Always use the KISS principle. keep it simple stupid. good luck
  14. Cool. I'll be in my KE35. I suspect I'll be able to pick who ever turns up.
  15. Shame. The self seek is the coolest thing I've ever seen. press the button and watch the dial spin. Like having a ghost in the car! Good work on the mods. Have to agree with Evan though. Best thing I've seen these do is at a car importers. they used a crown to "remove" the cars suspended in the air in a shipping container. Drove it in and broke off the wood mounts and hey presto, drove the crown out with a car sitting on top. Needless to say roof was a little F&*ked. Also drove one at a dealership. it was the "loaner". Tended to jump into neutral when going over speedhumps. at about 60km/h! Looking forward to seeing the finished beast. Does she run hot?
  16. This was a station north of a few hundred k's north of port headland. ever wonder where suzi's go to die? That's all they used. My brother had a Holden Drover, hence the pics.
  17. Today we're coming from the Eyre peninsula in SA
  18. I love these buses. I had an Mx32 cressida. Always loved the crown (except the fuel bills) Does it have the self seek radio?
  19. If there is ANY interest, I'm going to be at the first beach carpark coming from Mordialloc at 10 am on 2 Jan and cruising down beach road for a laugh. If you've got the time and want to give the cyclists the shits, come along. looking forward to meet some rolla friends!
  20. R, funnily enough I don't have the diagram. Question: Pressure? If the gas isn't at the right pressure the pump won't cut in. If it is the only other electrical component is the clutch in the pump. You can hotwire this too see if it cuts in and out. hope it helps
  21. Almost forgot. This won't fix your cooling prob but a fav of mine. USE RED TOYOTA COOLANT! same price as the aftermarket shit but the quality is awesome. Out in the bush where the Toyota rules this is ALL they use. There is a reason!
  22. A trick an old mechanic taught me. Get the engine to operating temp. Get 4 (or however may cyls you have) room temp screw drivers. Whip out the plugs. (on K motors leave the tubes in). Put them in the holes for one minute max. whip out the drivers and look for condensation. if you see it, head is leaking. Also gives the advantage of finding out where it's leaking. If you leave them in too long the water will evaporate. For a radiator check, use your hands. If the engine is hot and it has obvious cold spots, rad is blocked. good luck
  23. Done this a few times. Kangaroosa is right. VicRoads don't check where the receipt comes from. If the mechanic has written the right number at the time of RWC, they don't give a shit. If it doesn't come up stolen they just take it as the mechanic has done their job and rubber stamp it. I once registered a car that had the wrong chassis number recorded against the reg. a 1 was written as a 7. Had to do a stat dec, then all fine. Didn't have the original engine but that was no probs. ps I could write a book on the amount of times I've been to VicRoads and something has "come up". Was there this week, but had a nice girl who allowed the 'rolla through no questions. Thank F$%k for that!
  24. Don't know how relevant this is but if you go to a "real" wheel aligner (not the tyre shop cowboys) they can do a strut bend. I had a Datto 1600 which suffer from negative camber cause of the indie rear ends. Down to the man who can do these things and magic, no chopped out tyres.
  25. todays photos are brought to from south of broome heading to port headland
