lol, yeah loosen the nut but keep it on the thread, this way you won't nail yourself with the wheel when it comes loose.

i GENTLY used a rubber mallet to persuade mine to come off but be careful, you don't want to wreck your collapsing steering column.

use a steering wheel puller kit or 2 jaw puller, both $15 to $20 ea at trade tools.

i found the 2 jaw puller works well on boss kits.

it takes under 5 seconds on the tightest of steering wheels and wont damage the wheel.

sometimes you can get it off using a mallet, muscle or wiggle it if its not on too tight

but its a fair bit of sweat and time and can damage the wheel if it is stuck.

the wheel is fitted on using tapered spline and the nut forces it to jam on there when

done up so it wont come off, thats why they are difficult to remove.

With the nut half off, thump the wheel on either side quickly with your fists like a two year old having a tantrum (I can even lend you the two year old, complete with tantrums.) You're not thumping the back of the wheel here, but the front. This loosens the wheel and should come straight off.

Never failed for me
