hey fella's, I'm just after some info from who runs positive offset wheels on there ke eg(cheap alloys you find at all tire shops)

 

just wanting to know this as i have a hell of allot of track on my ke55 and wouldn't mind some 15"s not for performance just to make it look tidy

it also means i can get some steelies of the same with and make them fit the back with the same track as the front, cheers casey

yeah I do, although they have caused me a few dramas. Mine are 17's, and because they shift the load point on the wheel bearing, my bearings are shot. Also as mine are 17's, I need real thick spacers for the front. Once I get some time, I will fix this as I find it dangerous. It was kind of a stop gap solution at the time. Also the wide front track makes the car follow the grooves in the road alot more.

You need to work out what you want to do with them, never mind what we've done. As I understand it, if your front track is greater than rear you will tend to over steer, and if the front is narrower, then you will tend to under steer. So is it for drift or for traction based driving? Offset needed to fill the guards varies widely with rim width. 7s should fit all round if they are the right offset, 8's will go close but you will need to lip your guards most of the time. What is the right offset you ask? TEST FIT. Depends on a bunch of things.

i have +ve offset rims on my ke20 as i have a ke55 drum to drum setup in the rear.

my car is set up for drift, yet it is still only a ke55

I have 17 x 7 wheels on ke30, they are +25 offset, this is perfect to the millimetre. When you go shopping for wheels in +25 you will find the biggest range is in 18s, but then tyres become very expensive.

 

Two that are available in 18, are BSA G2-168 or BSA 358.

don't go larger than 15s and if your setting it up for drift wouldnt you want to flare the guards to get max movement? meaning you can run low offset wheels

well ke20 and 25 are +30 offset from factory so id say ke30 and ke55 probably would be close,

just phone up a tyre place and ask them to look it up for you.

can't give you an offset without a width as you need to run close to the original backspace

for turning purposes if you want to run it on the road or track.
