Jason KE30 Posted November 17, 2008 Report Posted November 17, 2008 Was just wondering what is the best and most effective way to get more power out of a k motor? eg. supercharger, turbo, efi or anything else that anyone knows of. I'll hopefully be running into some money soon so i wanted to do up my engine without doing a full blooded conversion. so whats the ultimate upgrade? Quote
DearmanKE Posted November 17, 2008 Report Posted November 17, 2008 twin charging, supercharged and turbocharged all forged internals, completly balances and blueprinted and some amazing drivetrain bits and then you'l be laughing.........at yourself because you could get the same power out of a dirty nissan motor for alot less money nah jk, depending on how much money you want to spend thers a fews things you can do, 3k head on a 4k will give you abit of extra power, as will getting your cam reground geting and exhaust and wber or modifying the snadard carby, everything depends on your budget and what you can do yourself Quote
Jason KE30 Posted November 17, 2008 Author Report Posted November 17, 2008 well i'm hopin to get a worked 4k with a webber. but was wonderin what else i could do to it that would be the most effective Quote
camcam Posted November 17, 2008 Report Posted November 17, 2008 check this 3k big port head on the 4k block it gives a big difference considering how cheap it is man Quote

coln72 Posted November 17, 2008 Report Posted November 17, 2008 why waste money ona 4k when a 5k or 7k are soooo much better. Quote
MRMOPARMAN Posted November 18, 2008 Report Posted November 18, 2008 http://www.performanceforums.com/forums/sh...highlight=motor check this out! Quote
styler Posted November 18, 2008 Report Posted November 18, 2008 1. choose 2 out of: speed, reliabilty, cost 2. more power from stock = more undriveable (useable powerband) 3. heres my version of a k series engine power list from least to most: 3k std 4k std 5k std 7k std warm na hot na race na supercharged std internals turbo std internals supercharged aftermarket forged internals, efi, ecu, intercooled, boosted etc turbo aftermarket forged internals, efi, ecu, intercooled, boosted etc driveline and gearbox may need upgrading at hot na onwards. might add power estimates later... Hiro Protagonist Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 Should? They normally make almost 20kw more at the wheels. You lose more in the drivetrain in a RWD car remember....plus a lot of 4AGEs are getting rooted these days, especially bigports. I've seen a bunch of AE82 TCs pull between 50 and 60kw at the front wheels all on the same dyno, on the same day. Quote
