SLW42 Posted September 13, 2010 Report Posted September 13, 2010 Nah has to be n/a with or without nos :P Quote
MRMOPARMAN Posted September 13, 2010 Report Posted September 13, 2010 well if your allowed nos, i should be allowed turbo :rolls: otherwise, i think you might be struggling to get active participants to spend bucket loads of money over a little competition Quote
Trev Posted September 13, 2010 Report Posted September 13, 2010 I have a letter punch, can I bring all 1600cc of my twincam 6K :rolla: Quote
SLW42 Posted September 13, 2010 Report Posted September 13, 2010 6k you say? Well if it's boosted i.e turbo supercharged then there is NO NOS on the car, that being said i think NOS should only be aloud for those competing with N/A applications :) if that makes sense Quote
MRMOPARMAN Posted September 13, 2010 Report Posted September 13, 2010 no it doesnt really make sense. you seem to be the only person in the world that considers nitrous "N/A". every class in the world classes nitrous as forced induction. so it looks like you have created yourself a one make, one person series lolz. Felix Posted September 13, 2010 Report Posted September 13, 2010 no it doesnt really make sense. you seem to be the only person in the world that considers nitrous "N/A". every class in the world classes nitrous as forced induction. Nitrous is Chemical Supercharging. Quote
irokin Posted September 13, 2010 Report Posted September 13, 2010 Sure you aren't confusing nitromethane with nitrous oxide SLW? Quote
SLW42 Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 I still think in this challenge naturally aspirated should have NOS as an option and forced induction should have it as an option, like this 1. Fastest naturally aspirated without NOS, 2. Fastest naturally aspirated WITH NOS, 3. Fastest turbo without NOS, 4. Fastest turbo with NOS, 5. Fastest supercharged without NOS, 6. Fastest supercharged with NOS, thats what i'm trying to say, i realise in drag racing NOS is considered forced induction, but in this case for us it wont be it'll just be a add on :P , so there is a title for each individual type, i hope that clears it up Quote
67Rolla-Ken Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 Too complicated now, I'm out! (no funds to play with the big boys :( ) Quote
Taz_Rx Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 ......i realise in drag racing NOS is considered forced induction.... Its not just drag racing mate. As Felix said - "Chemical supercharging". Can I suggest you do some research into N02 and how it works in cars. When using N02 you're not forcing fuel into the engine, you're forcing an "air" substitute..... sound familiar!? I'm keen to play anyway. Someone got a KE10 I can borrow! I'm never gunna get near Matt's and Darren's time in a heavy KE55. Quote
Trev Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 So I am still a go with the 6k? Quote
Taz_Rx Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 So I am still a go with the 6k? went straight over his head Trev. Quote

You can borrow mine if you're going to return it with the fastest NA K engine fitted to it ;) Quote
radrollaz Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 (edited) That would be the one I mentioned above. PM Radrollaz for some pics of it, he might still have them saved somewhere. Hi guys, just thought id add my 2 cents. As Taz RX has mentioned a friend of mine owns the ke30 4 door that was in zoom and he has been out to prove that a k series engine can make big power and run great times, ie in the 10s. He has since done a full rebuild of the car including paint, interior and rebuilding the engine He is chasing 400hp which i think will be very hard to acheive but he is very determend and focused on getting there. It is still a 3K with massive amounts of work and i mean it has had everything done to it to get it there. He might have to run crazy boost through it but he is hell bent on it makeing 400hp atw. I have always loved the idea of building a hektic k series engine , Probably a 5K with plenty of goodies inside and perfectly matched turbo and injection to make over 200kw atw, but over the years i have had this discussion many times and most people agree that the k series heads even ported to within a millimeter of its life just can't flow enough air to produce the power that a 4age can as mentioned before and the fact its only a 8 valve makes it even harder. If anyone can do it , my friend will as he just wont give in and be beaten. He wants the fastest most powerfull k series engined corolla going round. Power adder definition: Turbocharger, Supercharger, Nitrous Oxide. This is how all the drag racing categories do it, except I think a lot of them specify a max of two. 2 Quote
