You should squeeze 500 or more out of the AE71 if you drive like a nanna

KE70 4KC stock from Sydney to Adelaide, via a stop off in Melbourne for my Dad's work. Pretty sure we only went through 3 tanks of full. About 700 - 800km a tank I think

 

Old AE71 4AC use to get 400 - 450 and that was a sick engine with a few revs.

I used to get about 550 out of a tank in my KE30.

 

4K, 3K head, std cam, std carb, extractors and 2" single muffler system.

I used to get around 450 to a full tank outta my ke70, 4kc, extractors, 2and a quarter inch exhaust, stock cam, stock carby, and that was 5 speed, and it coped a flogging everywhere

I have a AE82 with standard 4AC and 4sp auto,

I get around 650 kays on the highway and around 450 city.

A little more of each if I drive like a granny.

My 3t in my T18 only gets about 250 to 3/4 of a tank, but needs the idle mixture adjusted as its running rich. You can smell me coming :yes:

But for most people driving old Corollas, the gauge doesn't work properly (or at all) and thus is useless, making the odometer and hence L/100km very relevant :yes:

how about a more agricultural method.

 

Litres between fuel lights.

 

up untill recenetly i was a poor uni student, so i would pull into the servo running on fumes, fuel light had been glaring at me for a few kilometers.

 

with the 4k, 10L used to get me 100km before the fuel light came on. so 10L/100km or so. i prolly could have gotten it better if i didnt floor it anywhere, but you kinda needed to floor it to get it to go anywhere:P

 

with the 4age its about 130-140km for 10L, so getting down to around 7L/100. and thats driving fairly sedately, 4age has enough grunt to drive around under 50% throttle most of the time.

 

(edit just realised it has "4ac" up there not "4age", oh well ill leave it there anyway..)

ke70 about 350km's with the sr though :jamie:

I get about 100k's per 10 bucks of premium. But my fuel gauge is rooted so I go by K's but I think that's pretty accurate. +/- 5 k's. And my engine has done 660,000k's. No mods apart from 2" zorst. I'm assuming far less km/L after the 32/36 is on.
