Very nice work mate! I've got the same rust issues in my seventy wagon, need to bust out the welder. Any tips at all?

Thanks bud, most old cars rust here, dust gathers, add water and you get mud which makes rust. Only weld small amounts at a time, I'm using a tig and doing 5-10mm at a time and then cool it with an air nozzle on the compressor. If you use a mig do the same but do a series of tacks so you don't blow a hole. Also tack the panel every 5-10mm before any welding, it's only thin and doesn't take much heat to move the panel

If you're using MIG, see if you can run narrower wire too. I ran 0.6 when repairing a roof, seemed to make things pretty easy. Didn't try with 0.8, so it's all theoretical :)

Made good use of a day off work and fabbed up the panels for the driver side, should be finished tomorrow

That's that done, bit of dolly work and she'll be sweet

Rust finished and I've mounted my window net, wasn't paying $50 for a mounting rail so I made my own for the cost of a $5 spring

Started on the tank mounts

With this much bodywork I'd be too scared to race it! Much too nice!

There's not too much body work needed, actually started out as a bloody good shell, would've been a good body for a resto, the real work will come when I start the fiberglass front end.

Front tank mout in and a couple of L shaped tags to try and cut out some viabration in the floor, ideally I should've pressed some ribs into the floor before welding it in
