My Tacho jump around a bit just before the point die or the condenser capacitor stuffs out. is you point's gap right? If all else fails and you get sick of the points set-up, get a Starlet KP61 or 1.5 litre TownAce van electronic distributor? You will also need a coil and igniter from same type of set-up say from a Celica or Hilux with a 22r motor. New starlet dissy

3T Twin Side Draft'S Manifold Hitting Dizzy How To Fix?
Crostek posted a topic in General Mechanical
Help please I have a 3t motor in my KE20 and wish to fit up a pair of twin side draft carburetors . But the side of the manifold hits on the side of the distributor :bash: it is a long runner manifold. Is there a different distributor that I should swap too? I have searched and Google with no luck But I have found that people use a smaller 2T one? Thanks -
you can get t50 with cable but they are hard to find

Hi Joel If you take the plastic covers you with see a small hole on the side of the casting facing the drivers seat about 3mm round. Now the tricky part, you will need to put a key in the barrel and turn the switch to ACC (first position), Push the little button down in the hole and you should be then able to slide/wiggle out the whole key barrel. I will post a picture if needed. Good luck

The problem with 4K/5K heads is the valve size particularly the size of the exhaust valve and the shrouding of it by the side of the combustion camber in the head. To get around this I have installed 4G37 (EDIT sorry not 4g36 i use them for rings) Mitsubishi 1.8lt exhaust valves and retainers these valves are 3mm oversize and cheap to get, I then board out the valve seat, and re-cut to suit. I also used a larger seat cutter to open up the area around head the valve in the camber right out to the edge of the cylinder wall. Ports on the head are restricted by the size of the small radius and the size/opening between it and the valve guide. I punch the valve guides out/back into the head and machine this area out to a smooth radius similar to the way shown in the TRD manual then put the valve guides back in (you don't have to knock them all the way out just fare enough that you don't hurt them with the die grinder) If you do both the above and run a cam with a high lift you should be able to get more fuel in and more burnt fuel out, and hopefully close to the horse power you want. Also be running a small NOS system you gain more power. Not from the gas but from the cooling effect of the NOS gas on the intake air temp

KE70 are quite easy to convert to hydro clutch as there is the bolt in option of the AE71 set-up. There is a complete setup for sale on eBay at the moment

What is you T50 going in and going to be behind? there as been a number of posts around the traps about this and have seen it done much the same way as redwarf.

My KE70 had a similar problem, would show full and then not work again I was half full But my problem was in the tank sender The sender in the tank had worn just where the metal slider/wiper rubs on the resistor. I pulled the sender out through the inspection plate in the boot and cleaner the rust and other junk off the resistor, bent the wiper to rub a bit harder against the resistor and it been all well since.

Looking good Gav Is your fuel pump big enough to pump full to both the side drafts? sound like the fuel is only getting to the front one and the leftovers is just making it in to the back one. or you needle and seat in the rear mite be stuck too? why don't you try chucking a Facet electric pump on it and see if it runs better? By the way I will send the mirror up COD tonight.

by the look of things I would say that's all it is.

Things you need to change are The centre bearing bushing to suit the 4k rocker shaft, The thread for the adjuster screw has to be changed to metric M8, or you need to buy the "mini" imperial adjusters and nuts then modi the ball to fit the 4k push rod cup. you will also need to run a lash cap as the rocker are is 1.5mm shorter than the Toyota one and under high lift there is a chance that the roller will fall off the edge of the 6mm valve. I have also asked them if they can do these modifications to the base product for me and how much per each set once done. Just awaiting an answer

Hi I have a 3k big port head on a 5k block with 4k a rockershaft and pushrods, Landcruiser lifters, and Modified Harland Sharp "A series" 1.5 ratio 1257 roller rockers. I went for the Landcruiser lifters because they are lighter then the holder ones, You can by the lifters from REPCO, trade price is around $12 each, I will dig through my dockets and get you the part number if need. I also have some A12 push rod's if you need them as I am not using them
