  1. Are you looking for more torque/pull out of the corners or more top speed? If you go up in the diff ratio go from 3.9 to 4.3 you will have more torque out of the corner, but higher rev's on the straight, And vis versa if you go down in diff ratio the revs drop and you have less torque/pull in 2nd gear. What mod’s are you allowed to the motor in your class? Can you balance the motor and change the cam to run at a higher RPM? Also are you allowed to run stagged tyres like sprint car can? This will give you better direction and grip mid corner to late corner
  2. The KE70 gearbox has a different gear shifter position to the KE20 one, but it can be fitted? You will have to cut the floor and cap/cover the old position, no good if you have centre console installed, you would be better getting a 5 speed from a KE35 or KE55 corolla, don’t have to modify anything just bolt in fit.
  3. IF your motor has the TRD pistons it will be O/S bore to 79mm and have the same 1300cc cap as a 4k. You mite be able to find a 5K motor in a toyota gas forklift?

  5. My 3k runs 1GGZE rods, and have 20mm pin the 1ggte are 19mm pin and could be machine out and re-bushed as well. Do you want to sell your pistons :rolls: ?
  6. I got my door rubbers and window channel from clark rubber Caringbah in Sydney was last of old stock paid 30 each side and 20 for the bail/window channel rubber if it helps

  8. If you machined out the lifter holes to suit the bigger lifter it mite work??? :hmm: You would also need the rockers and push rods for the oil feed to the lifter through them
  9. I got lovell ford escort front springs in the rear of My ke70. they cost $170 for the set if it helps
  10. the XT130 steering arm will give you less lock yes, you are using the AE86 Power steering one? the XT130/RT132 lower control arm will push the ball joint out by 10mm or so reducer the positive camber in the AE86 power steering arms. see how the middle steering arm "AE86 PS" has the hole closer to the bottom/outside of the arm. and how the middle lower control arm which is the same as XT130 and RT132 is longer then the top KE70/AE71 one If you do a search you will also find out that you will need to goto RA40 tierod ends and tierod tubes to have the right lenght to do a wheel alignement. I have all these bits myself going into a KE70 if I don't sell it soon!
  11. You may have to grind a small amount of the end of the lower control arm if you have bigger discs. The PS arms have Neg camber offset in the casting and the back of the disc hits the lower control arm. The Neg camber can be compensated by getting the XT130 lower control arms.
  12. Well I think it is about time for me to sell my KE70 project car. I brought the car 2 ½ years ago for $80.00 with BHG to replace my one that was destroyed in a crash. Have used the car as a daily for almost 2 years now and never got around to doing any mods on it. So the question is what would a KE70 sell for? Details about It: Motor is stock 4k and 4 speed, and stock Bog warmer diff Trim is tan in colour and pretty clean and only one crack on shifter surround Paint is white, and has a couple of surface rust spots from chips. Other rust, in the usual places, next to fuel filler flap the size of a one cent coin, behind the rear guards on the left side it is the size of a twenty cent coin. The right is just a bubble. And a few rust bubbles around the tail lights. NSW Rego till sept 2011 The tail lights have also been swapped to the JDM ones (not in photos). There is a Sony 10 stack CD sound system with 4” front speakers, and 5 X 7 rears. tow bar, and tacho dash. I have some parts to put 4a and T50 into the car except motor, I will most likely sell them as well. See for sale section for parts now selling :( sales thread Thanks Crostek
  13. yes the short shifter will fit the AE71 box, as it's the shifter is the same as AE86, The short shifter will also fit the T18 box and KE70 K50 box. As they are all the rear position shifter (at the very back of the box)
  14. it was a 1200cc so it would have had an A12, would have been easy to get a A15 to drop in but it look like it was a good build, wonder if it is still around? last post was last year!

The thing with ITB on a small engine is not to go to big in the butterflys, I have 2004 ZX6RR throttle bodies on a custom manifold made for my 5k and the butterflys are only 38mm, The intake ports on my head are 33mm (Ported 3k head as per trd manual see FAQ) and the the inlet valves are 38mm this gives me around the 160hp on the flow bench, have not yet dyno'ed the motor to find the real Hp. I have not look at a 7k head but are the ports quite big? The main flow stopper in the 3k head is the hump where the valve guide sticks in, a quick port each side of this really opens up how the head flows. In my head the guide is cut down and tapered down in size too.
  16. Ok got my new cam back. And the 202 lifters are heaps heavy and need something lighter Could some one please tell where do you find 5K soild lifters? Which year and model toyota did they come in? Thanks

  19. If you plan to rev the motor hard the lifters pump up and hold the valves open or something like that. The 3f lifter can be used with 3k push rods from other posts that I have read. But don't try buying them new they cost $87 each one. The other option is to strip the lifter out and just use the shell, I don't know what push rods you would use. I am in the process of building a tuff 5K with a huge cam and motor bike injection, I intend on getting the 202 lifter and Datsun A12 pushrods, if I get it together soon I will post how it’s done.

  25. My bad :blinks: have looked further into it and they are a helical rotor type roots blower, that suck the air from the rear and push it out the bottom, this improvers the temp coefficient of the supercharge. IE the air coming out is not as hot as if it was the same size straight rotor.
