  1. yep, well keep the pics coming as you update ok?
  2. because sprinters don't have rear strut towers and hence they do nothing but slow your car down with extra weight
  3. looks quite straight, hopefully there are no nasty surprises under the pain. Maybe you can explain something for me, why does everyone have the V-opt stickers on their car? I don't get what that site is about. also don't bother installing a rear "strut brace" unless its off the seat latch mounts.
  4. I can convert KE70 pedal boxes to be ae71 compatible
  5. a serious amount of machining. I would have to talk to the guy directly. Feel free to PM me if you want me to call them
  6. ok let me guess, the catch is once your 3L is up you have to cart the dead weight of the engine around right? You know if you where really keen you could make a cylinder head for the engine to boost the economay considerably. Heaps of tricks you can do there but I doubt thats something you would want to do.
  7. far out what a drama, what sorta engine is this? and what are the rules on the engine? and once again pics!
  8. good guess but i have been told that ke10 and ke20 are the narrow ones
  9. hi guys, I would like to know what people have found in terms of comparing the metal engine mount brackets off various K engines and their associated rubber engine mounts. Basically I would like to find out if the metal engine mounts on the crossmember of a KE70 are the same as the KE models. From what I understand the pre KE30 corollas have mounts that are even closer. I am thinking if the metal mounts on all the K engines are the same and the rubbers are the same then the distances must all be right.
  10. want to share
  11. $10,000!? what are it's specs? pics?
  12. yes I totally agree
  13. it's not back-pressure, only turbine engines need it to run properly. I have done my own testing on a bigport and have found it very sensitive to any restrictions
  14. I will go there one day, any chance of posting some pics of the weekend?
  15. ok I am guild of generalising and being vauge. I was talking in terms of necessity instead of being an improvement as such. It's very rare for anyone with a boosted 4a engine to have different cams so they often don't rev hard enough to necessitate stronger rods and rod bolts. That combined with the overkill strength of a silvertop rod which can handle any boost. The atmo guys running big cams rely more on revs and responsiveness so have more of a need for the stronger and lighter internals. Either way I agree with your points and 459 vs 506 grams is nothing to scoff at.
  16. still working on it, I am in the middle of a test fit now
  17. well I would call that the spider gear support shaft but thats just me and yes I wasnt thinking at the time as know all about that one (snapped in my wagon)
  18. yeah I guess I should of asked which 4age he put in
  19. sounds good, I would like to see it oh by the way changing the cable is a bit of a shit job
  20. can't take one axle out and then use a rod through the other side to push it out?
  21. I would think that running any reasonable boost would be fine with blacktop rods, this is because the killer of rods in a 4a engine is revs not compressive load. The reason why this is so is because on the compression stroke the inertial load of the piston and rod counteracts the compressive force. There is some bending force at a reasonable amount of the point of 90 degree on the downstroke. Long story short keep the revs at 8000 and you will be fine, cheap upgrade with silver-top rods that will have a block break before they do or lastly the after-market rods which are better suited to atmo engines in my personal opinion.
  22. yeah your going to have to be a lot more specific, start by saying which 4afe you have
  23. the ke70 one fits quite nice
  24. hahaha this thread is a classic. I have heard about one of the real electric superchargers and it had 2 motors instead of 3 like the one in the pic. it had to have atleast 3 heavy duty batteries in the boot fed by some obscene sized cables to make it work. All this and it was only good for 20 seconds at a time and it cost a small fortune, no thanks.
