  1. I can next time I change my filter chop it open to have a look at it, its a ryco
  2. well thats what you would think would happen but it doesn't. This is because the diff is on a fairly decent offset already, I wouldn't be surprised if it is about the half of the shortened amount at 32mm. As an educated guess it will just end up being an equal offset the other way.
  3. thats more like it and I mostly agree, for something like your ke25 yes no doubt both sides have to be shortened. However for a KE70 or AE I would think just shortening the short side is more than enough. For an ae86 to take it back to standard size 64mm needs to come off. I believe in this case it would shift the offset of the diff from one side to roughly equally off on the other side.
  4. that doesnt make sense to me, looking at the diff the one with the shorter axle is on the longer side. it's the shorter side that needs to be shortened more or else it ends up being even more lopsided so you can't use 2 short axles, and yet you have done it, somethings amiss here.
  5. rewelding an axle, thats some scary shit anyway I did some research on my own and I found I can get the axle shorted for $160 each side, however due to the shape of the axle I would need to use the long axle to do the shorter side. On an R31 diff this is the only side you want to do, the big bonus is the diff pinion ends up being close to the middle. I may off this service in the future if there is enough demand, it would be tricky to chop and reweld the diff housing accurately but I think I would be up for it. Anyone else done it?
  6. you can always do what I am doing; take the front seat out! 4 easy bolts and your set. I haven't had a front seat in weeks, I took it out initially to transport an engine in it's place, I mean who does that to an ae86!?
  7. well the hatchbacks with the seat folded down can be fairly roomy, I am unsure if thats enough though.
  8. there are not enough people doing this brake conversion. I haven't heard pf people needing a spacer before though. MX62 calipers are really hard to source here.
  9. on the passenger side at the end of the block facing the firewall, vertically down
  10. my god, if that thermo was any bigger you could use it to move your car by itself. Why so large? for me it's amusing you see as I have not run a fan in something like 5 years, but I assume I am in a colder climate.
  11. there are a few discussions on this right now on ae86dc, have a search there for "sr20 conversion" same bolt pattern
  12. ah clever I didn't think of that
  13. right, thats good to know thanks guys
  14. but arn't the shifters different even between the two models of T50?
  15. $100 is a great price, getting another shifter shouldnt pose a problem. Maybe ask someone on ae86dc they love breaking gearboxes there. Nothing else fits only the ae71 and ae86 t50
  16. bigport, JDM manifold, Aussie T50 gearbox and Iphone fail
  17. welcome to the forum, you post doesn't actually state what your after? are you looking for an engine to buy or help with whats needed?
  18. driveshafts wearing out and the same for gear synchros. Try and do a quick downchange into second or third gear and listen for any crunch sounds. That and rust of course
  19. I was under the impression they has bigger brakes but I could be wrong there. Have a measure of the disk diameter
  20. it goes along the lines of if you need to ask when needs to be done then you would not be up for what it would take to do the job. Seriously it's a huge project.
  21. wow that's different
  22. oh and advertise on ae86dc, they need him
  23. will send you a PM
  24. So its for someone else your asking? is he in Epping also?
  25. we seem to have a serious ecu wiring guy shortage here in Vic. So I think your going to be in luck. Got a number
