  1. yeah i thought they'd be based on a kadett/gemini/piazza, especially being a vauxhall. sounds like a big project, but should kick ass when its done :)
  2. i've also had a few small cars with michelins on them, two work cars and my old bmw. they don't blow me away with handling but GOD they last a long time! however i'm not braking traction too often on them, being a harder compound tyre i'd expect them to chunk pretty badly if you're going to race with them can't have your cake and eat it too i guess :)
  3. yeah that's what matt and john were thinking too
  4. for low priced general parts and things, i usually go new price /2 as a fair second hand value. half again if it's in shoddy condition for something like a car, well... a car is only worth so much. i can spent $20k on my ke25 and still have it as just a 32 yearold corolla. i would tend to look at other similar things about the same condition and decide off that. some people tend to overinflate the price of their car, some go for a song. there are things such as the Unique Cars Vaule Guide to help with this when other people want bits that i have, i'd prefer to swap something that they have, rather than sell it. money is only so useful, and so short-lived. rare and/or useful bits are much more satisfying
  5. 1200cc engine, sub-900kg weight, sounds like a corolla :) being a hatch it sounds more like a kp starlet, which we didn't get here either :)
  6. this is getting disgusting
  7. http://www.jamboree.com.au/
  8. actually for cheap tyres, matt and john have had good luck with "ceat" tyres. apparently they're made by pirelli but are their budget brand? obviously not as good as a P6000 or whatever, but matt's last set of treads were 70 bucks each?
  9. yeah but its not like you can go "oh my poor car" and be all upset, when you're the one who sold it in the first place. if it was that dear to you, you'd keep it and repair it. right?
  10. rob: congo or rwanda? :)
  11. um, why? if you were that devastated then why did you get rid of it in the first place?
  12. i'm just interested in what kind of car she drives, or did i miss that?
  13. hard and/or expensive to find 14s in mazda stud pattern. there are some 14" performance b45-looking-things on ausrotor at the moment for $450
  14. and THE weekend to see GRIMAS do big phat wheelstands. i love GRIMAS!
  15. i'd never even heard of a vauxhall chevette until today! they look like cool little cars
  16. looking at fairly skinny tyres, you're not going to be able to get REALLY good ones. i personally would fit longer wheel studs (4 bolts, 8 knocks with the hammer, easy) and run spacers and get 185/60/13s. you can get yoko A539s in this size. everyone i've spoke to who'd ever run FM901s thinks they are the best tyre they've ever had, not sure if they're available in corolla sizes. when i eventually get decent rubber. it'll be a tossup between those two
  17. i'm so there. i'll probably go with nikki and ken they'll be up for drunken party on the way back
  18. come on people, prizes still up for grabs for the last two! hint for 6: purple map. vampires hint for 13: commodore 64. it's a book too
  19. well, i come back and fook is well and truly kicking ass, nice job ;) come on guys, only three more to go! there is now a small prize for 6 and 13, each :) i don't know what prize, i'll find something in my garage or whatever :)
  20. good and good :) i thought nobody would get that maniac mansion one! haha old skool games rock. keep em comin peoples ;)
  21. yes! well done, that was one of the hard ones :)
