wow really, thats awesome, the most masculine efi conversion ever :)

if i want to do anything with my choke cable in the morning i take it off the shelf from behind the "spare engine parts" box :) chokes are for wusses, use your right foot for a few minutes

seriously, if you're willing to put the effort in and get to jamboree with the competitors, and by that i mean being AT the tollbooths around 7am, you get to see some crazy shit from the high powered street going cars last year, NOS808 belted it out of the second tolls, did a massive line lockie, got broad, picked second and BLAM blew a radiator hose in a big green puddle all over the road :) being on the road at 7am also has the added bonus of avoiding the cops. i was staying with ken and nikki that weekend (we were that early to get rollie into scroutineering) and happily sat on 90mph the whole way to willowbank. my friends from nsw came up and arrived about 11am, they said there were heaps of radar guns all the way up but you don't do anything dumb on the way home, the feds sit in the bushes. though i did drag a stock ke55 out of the tolls, haha that was funny :)

this is the subtropics, it's not sposed to go below 20c! :)

bingo. you can't fit an airflow meter? i don't really know too much about efi bits' indepth workings, you sound like you know what you need to fix it
-
sounds like nick's on the money, i would say both fuel and ignition maps? the problem is probably present over all running conditions of the motor, but more noticeable when the engine is cold and the ecu runs its little "pretend choke" richness cycle thing. have you had it on a dyno? you may find your afr is out all over the place and you're not using optimum timing for the fuel you're running in it

do you guys know daryl leong? goes by the nickname of Dodgy Haro, he was at the all toyota day chatting to me about his yellow ke20, he came to that event in his panda ae86, as he left i commented "he SO needs a tofo shop sticker". ken was trying to get him to bring in a trueno front end and do the whole conversion, but he's sick of spending money on the sprinter and wants to have a nice oldcorolla now YAY :)

haha i'm a monkey :) datsun rust is bad, much worse than any other manufacturer's rust. i don't really like Zs, they're too big

i recently read 1984 by george orwell, some of the things in there made me think of america today, which is actually quite a scary prospect
-
poor guy who's just had his life, income and probably family ruined by a smartass pack of american hicks who think they are judge jury and executioner in a war over oil that their country really has no business being a part of there is a growing awareness that alot of things in this world are full of shit. australian speeding laws, and the american way of politics are two things that spring to mind. i can't wait until it gets so big that things actually start happening to stop it

i personally just don't like the cars, but i have no problem with anyone who likes them :) tho i will admit, a 120y looks TOUGH in primer and 13x6s wth 205 tyres, there's one getting around here. 1200 coupe with the same would look even better. but these are classic datsuns, and perfectly acceptable (fook has given me an appreciation of them anyway). i have more of a problem with the whole mid 80s nissan/datsun cheap plastic era of motor vehicle.

hey its all good thats what forums are for :) what was this about again? oh yes jamboree, well thats ages off so we'll start a new thread to organise things in a couple of months when it happens now, back to being wierd :)

things like this are the very reason i don't watch tv. it really doesn't surprise me

like all forum posts you look at from years ago - we'll all be shaking our heads going "i can't believe i said that, erase it dude erase it" and nick won't because thats the duty of the moderator :)

disclaimer: laughing at the car, not your photoshop skills HAHAHAHA OMG IT LOOKS LIKE A MIGHTY BOY ON STEROIDS!!! that would be THE funniest car on the road! EVER!!! somebody HAS to do it :) your chops don't look bad at all, when you view them small enough to take out the find detail, which is after all the difference between a chop and a fake. the first one has the full drag launch stance, it's obviously got an off-its-tits 13b turbo (evidenced by the light front end) and shagged out stock suspension (rwd squat). i would call it "how to do 10 second quarters for under 10 grand" :) i like the idea of just blacking out around the car and the bits you don't want, that's pretty effective, i wouldn't have thought of that (ho hum ke25 ute haha). and i'd *almost* believe the bottom one was a real car if it had a bottom rear windowsill. anyway good work, thanks for sharing :)

yes, there is

YAY 86 BASHING!!! you've got my vote son :)
-
i would LOVE to see the reaction you'd get on toymods to that! i'd do it just to piss them off, it would be so worth it :) ae86s are overrated. sure they look nice and have nice weight balance and they're good to setup for track work, but at the end of the day they're just a mid 80s mass production car, people need to get over it who remembers the s13 ute that some aussies made a while back? i've got a japanese drift video with that vehicle in it

haha i only ever go for older women. young chicks are so stupid, you talk to them and its just like "ugh get away from me". 5 years for one, 4 years at the moment, had one a while back that was 7 years older. top shit :)
-
wtf is with that cat?

a ke70 ute would be awesome. if you started with a panelvan and grafted in the inside of a hilux or datto ute pickup tray, i don't think it would be that hard to engineer either there was a guy on my australiancorollaclub yahoo group, lesmanoz, who was going this. he had photos of him cutting up a 70 but then he disappeared from the face of the earth

yeah i know, with my old 44 plan i get 33 free sms, 44 of calls, and calls at 72c. with a new 50 plan, you get 50 minimum spend, 20c sms and 30c calls, and you can use all of that in the 50 dollars. much better, probably work out cheaper for me. plus something like 200 minutes vodafone to vodafone for 20c a call! :) they (vf anyway) don't do free phones with plans anymore, you just get pre-approved interest-free finance, or you buy the phone outright i think i'm going to get a 3200. i like the idea of being able to make my own covers, and i had a play with one and i'm sure i'll get used to the buttons
-
my average bill is about $70 a month. that's on a $44 plan too :)

haha thanks for the springs fook, but i don't have a ke30 anymore :) xany they were um, pretty f@$kin low. the control arms pointed upwards at rest! i precision engineered the springs with my angle grinder to be lower than the bump stops but high enough to give you SOME suspension travel. which is great until you go over a bump (even like a reflector in the road) and punch the bottom out of the new damper inserts which you put in last week, as well as giving yourself a nice jarring as your spine attempts to enter your skull it looked f@$king wicked tho :) and still had about 11cm ground clearance at the lowest point!
