  1. i'd guess 4ac needs timing advanced to suit the higher octane fuel. some people on oldcorollas reckon their motors run SLOWER with bp ultimate than regular unleaded, when running stock ignition timing. 4age is designed to run on high octane fuel, especially if it's a jap motor, or has had the head skimmed at some point in its life
  2. interesting. what's in each?
  3. actually a bunch of guys from down here were planning a cruise up to the carpark this sat night, at the moment i don't think i'll go due to lack of funds but you never know. if you see a tall lanky bastard crusing round in a blue rex that is WAY too low, or a white galant with VVT20V numberplates (used to be on a SCHWEET ae82) tell em you know jamie and say hi :D
  4. did you find anything out about the car? it rings a bell from flicking thru old old four cylinder magazines. i seem to recall a dark red or green 1600 with a rotary?
  5. what an awesome links post, well done everyone, now i'll never be bored :D
  6. i saw a few minutes of the game at a mates place, how stupid is that floating camera thing. the image quality sucks and it gets in the way of the other shots. what happens if the ball hits it? my wench thinks the football is rigged so they *have* to go to a 3rd decider game, to generate more revenue
  7. haha thanks :) its alright, it goes forward and doesn't leak too much oil and looks alright until you get up close :D you too can have gauges just like mine for the bargain price of $39.95 from supercheap, half a day to install them, then another half day to fix your dodgy wiring if you're anything like me. plus about $220 for the autometer tacho. the white speedo and stuff is just white paint, use vht enamel and some little stickers from a stationary shop, and tada your car looks trick too! :S
  8. thats what it was like! 6 black cars all the same lined up. then they all left in a big line all at once. i said to ken "what? did someone call in a hit or something?" and watching your friends spend $60k doing up a car is a humbling experience... even if i crashed the mango, the engine can be put in another shell fairly cheaply. if i blow the motor up, then i have many others i can build. i love it and it's my first dream car, but it's just a cheap little runaround that's getting fairly quick now :D and i own it all myself, not the bank like so many others with done up cars. corollas rule!
  9. oh by the way, my photo gallery here http://superjamie.fotki.com/cars/all_toyota_day_2004/
  10. if you want to save up 10 grand, you too can import and comply one, of the same quality as the green one at ATD. they're on yahoo auctions all the time! but then it's so rare, you'd never even sit in the thing let alone drive it, let alone try to do anything dangerous with it incase you stuffed up. i love my car, but at the end of the day, it's still just a corolla :D corolla (n). cheap, replaceable motor vehicle that is easy to work on
  11. what are some websites that you visit regularly to keep from being bored? (like, besides rollaclub) or some useful website that you refer to that has things no other site has? here's a few of mine http://www.somethingawful.com/ - very amusing page, huge content http://maddox.xmission.com/ - this guy is so funny http://www.sparknotes.com/guides/ - study notes for classic books http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/astropix.html - astronomy pic of the day http://www.theregister.co.uk/ - tounge in cheek tech news http://www.slashdot.org/ - sometimes alright, forums are amusing http://www.overclockers.com.au/ - nerds with too much time on their hands http://dlh.net/english.html - dirty little helper, videogame cheats http://mikesrpgcenter.com/ - massive comprehensive rpg page http://www.the-underdogs.org/ - old dos games, abandonware http://www.spamfreeforums.com/SFT/index.shtml - best porn list ever http://www.sexylosers.com/ - comic http://www.redmeat.com/ - comic i also find myself wasting alot of time putting words into google images and seeing what i can find
  12. this initial d game, the controls are very twitchy aren't they? you can't steer properly going down a straight, you just drift and correct and drift and correct into a tree and get abused. i haven't taken a corner sucessfully yet. i can understand a handbrake button, but a drift button that causes you to flip 90 degrees to the road without turning the steering wheel? man i wish my car had one of those! gone a bit initial d crazy this weekend, chris ken and nikki and i watched all of stage 2 on the weekend, stage 3 got lost somewhere between the drinking of alcohol and the "all this reading is f@$ked lets put on eddie murphy". i also started a new GT2 game with a sprinter. i remember my first GT sprinter, man that thing was fun, i raced and raced and wound it out to its limits until it became undriveable, then i got an evo 4 :D
  13. that was a fun day. cool to finally meet you all :D i don't believe how much you can get a K motor to sound like a rotary :S dodgyharo's sprinter SO needs a tofo shop sticker :) you've all got cool little corollas MAN how good was that te27, i just about did my load when i saw it! i was also a fan of the red ta22 and that gunmetal mark 2 with the whitewalls i'll put my photos up soon and post a link
  14. bendix or ferodo
  15. i've seen guys on the net get 3Y torago blocks (2.2L?) and modify and weld a 2t-g head onto them to get a twincam bigblock. there's a site out there that tells you exactly how to do it with pictures, but i can't remember where i saw it
  16. that was in a zoom magazine a while back, it does wheelstands with a person on it :D
  17. yeah give us a yell, we'll all have a get together and mass consumption of bourbon :D
  18. *go go gadget convince* put it on the server nick ;)
  19. rebushed. regraphing is $160. and f@$k oath it works, my timing used to be all over the place unless there was a bit of load on the distributor. now the mark on the crank pulley is f@$king rock solid all the way down to stalling speed just give them a call or email and post it down, that's what i did, and i'm only like a coupla hours south of you
  20. ok seriously, calm down and put your schlongs back in. bill sherwood is a bloke with a lot of money and time, sure he knows alot about toyotas and has really fun toys and a HOIST but really, he's just another guy on the internet. i'm not going to like, never wash my hand after he shakes it or anything, i'd treat him with the respect due to any contributing person in the community. to me, people like ;), nick bajic, fook seung lee, bill sherwood, stewart ford, doug messenger, jonny rochester, tom carter, karl skewes, alex bates, etc are all on an equal footing </holden-caulfield>
  21. they had some obscure difit game called Side by Side at intensity last time i was there. iirc it was actually sbs2 http://emustatus.rainemu.com/games/sbs.htm http://emustatus.rainemu.com/games/sbs2.htm it was really quite fun, except the sprinter was totally gutless, and the FC3S was quicker than the FD3S because it was geared way better. japan got drift games before australia even knew what power oversteer was anyway, how about a copy of this initial d game for all of us ;) you can get initial D for psx, but it's ntsc only so you'll need a mod chip, an emulator (http://www.superjamie.net/games/emulator.html) or an american playstation
  22. seriously, that's going to be heaps! a better option is to get your distributor rebushed for about 50 bucks, coupled with a rebuild and new points and condenser (included in rebuild) and cap and rotor, you'll end up with an as-new dizzy anyway. you'd be paying a few hundred bucks for a shiny housing i sent mine to Performance Ignition Services in victoria who did a recurve at the same time, but they'll do just a plain a recondition for you no worries. auspostage was $11 from northern nsw, and $15 overnight freight back
  23. hey josh ;)
  24. hahaha that's funny
