  1. that is cool, i've always wondered what that measurement should be, just been too lazy to look it up :( thanks :lolcry:
  2. my nickname down here for a long time was "narc boy" because i just used to sleep everywhere :( and i mean everywhere. just this weekend, my friends and i were reminiscing about this party we were at, most people were pissed and everyone was singing really loud to old 80s songs, like really loud! except me, who was fast asleep with his head in front of one of the speakers :lolcry: ahh good times nowadays i merely yawn and half the time someone pipes up "here comes narc boy again"
  3. and that's what's important, good for you :(
  4. and we're talking everything. welding would be the hardest part
  5. certainly ones with fats and front runners anyway the car was nice and probably the guy's pride and joy, i wouldn't wish that on anyone, but i hope he's learnt his lesson
  6. how did they get rid of the toolie situation? is it like, go out that week and unless you're 18/19 you don't get in?
  7. from a hunter/prey point of view, that SO doesn't make biological sense
  8. and we all know how to fix that :( hurry up with em too, i had the damn things on the head within 24 hours of buying them! pfft, never mind the fact my car then sat for 2 weeks while i sorted out throttle cable and fuel pump :D
  9. that is interesting, perhaps heat-related with your warmed-up tyres contacting the VHT traction compound on the strip? on normal roads, our g-tech research has shown that street tyres get consistently worse as they get scuffed in a burnout. at the hillclimbs, my A539s were grippier after they warmed up, but i guess they're borderline normal street tyres slash soft compoud race tyres huh
  10. seen it
  11. some would disagree with that
  12. yeah, i reckon you could manage a 16 in a seventy with that gear. which would still cost you over a grand you could theoretically pull off a high 15 in a ke20 or ke10, but it would depend on traction. you'd probably do it on a drag strip with vht, not on the street tho
  13. i think you would be very lucky to get 15s out of a naturally aspirated K motor in a street-trim ke70, they are quite heavy and the stock diff ratio is limiting in that regard. as for your budget, the cylinder head you would need would almost blow that away in one go be prepared to spend more money than you have, and have your car off the road, you can't have everything for nothing
  14. i think that might just be masking the symptoms of an already-worn engine, but if it works for you it's cheaper or at least easier than rebuilding the thing hey :D :(
  15. as did i but for perving purposes :D
  16. haha flashlube, does nothing for K engines
  17. schoolies weekend? uh oh! :D
  18. generally that happens to k engines when they sit for a shitload of time, i think it has something to do with the rings sticking and needing to free up. drive your car more i didnt drive my 3k for 9 months and it blew smoke for 3 days when i got it going again if it continues, it's either rings or valve-related like teddy said. usually the valve guide seals
  19. that's so sad, poor LJ stupid f@$k in the passenger seat not wearing a belt, lucky he didn't get hurt more
  20. f@$k, i just realised i'm busy every weekend in december. i've even double booked one! the first is probably easiest to work plans around, or the third. and of them, sundays not too picky am i :D see how everyone else fits in stupid christmas and new years take up so much time
  21. and here's me thinking they actually suited the car quite well :D they weren't shithouse auscar bubbly smooth boring common tri-spokes, they had a bit of character and color? oh well i thought so
  22. vizard books on ebay i run hd single springs, no problems. i think the bottom end would break or it would run out of air before i hit valve bounce, i've found 8500rpm and haven't had the balls to go further. i don't think dual springs are required at all i have had similar thoughts about exhaust, but i'm using the 2" on my pano because i have it and it was cheap to get setup. an exhaust is only as good as its first few feet my only suggestion would be to get a real fuel supply. using a downdraft on a 700-900 dollar head is like buying a mansion and locking all the rooms except one, such wasted potential. get sidedrafts, or SUs if you can't afford a thousand plus dollars of carb and tuning
  23. don't get me wrong, it looked hot as a clean old car with simmons, but rollie was a good car too. at least it was different and challenged the rules, life would be boring if everyone did a clean oldskooler with a set of rims and for what it's worth, scarlet was mechanically quite crap. the engine was mounted all on the wrong angles and place and the exhaust and diff had niggling problems, which ken fixed properly in rollie
  24. that is so mean. i think it was a good car as a package, i didn't like the kit much personally but it suited the look she was after. ken and his work are a part of her life, its only natural that that gets reflected in her car, one of her most prized posessions. essentially, it should have been re-shelled when it got t-boned the first time, and certaintly shouldn't have been racing with a sticky throttle cable, but nobody deserves to have their car "put out of its misery", not that one anyway, and not my friend
