  1. not really, i just happen to own a ford history book. i couldn't have done it all from memory. tho i can name commodores off the top of my head till the cows come home, let's see... cars VB VC VH VK VL VN VP VR VS VT VX VY VZ utes were VG VP VR VS VU VY VZ (extra points if you've ever seen a VG ute, they're rare as) and next model is called the VE
  2. hahaha, yes we know sprintex here that "bike" of theirs, with the custom engine, is the most insane thing i have ever seen run down willowbank drag strip. and it was only on half boost. the driver of that must have HUGE nuts
  3. very old. pastel paint with hotwires and a weber. i love those type of mags :jamie:
  4. you also forgot the XK, it was only the FIRST falcon, nothing too important :jamie: there were also ZH and ZJ fairlanes, there is also no such thing as an NH, there is however an NF which you left out. and of course, AU
  5. you definitely can't fit anything bigger than 225s under a ke10, tub tub tub!
  6. the only good evo is the four
  7. hahaha i totally love your style. glad you didn't sell the spare ke10 i have a couple of spare ke10 axles sitting here doing nothing if you're interested. part number for jap unis is K5A517 from memory you're hard pressed to fit anything bigger than a 205 under the ass of a ten. felix could probably tell you better, i've never played around with em too much
  8. it would have been like trying to stop in a ke20, unboosted brakes :jamie:
  9. except for the tendancy to get pissed and not get any work done :jamie:
  10. you had turbo colts? cool japanese import mirage cyrorgs were turbo, i imagine it would be the same as one of them
  11. that's the one way valve for the brake booster. logically, you're sposed to present vacuum to the brake booster, hence it doesn't need to be pressurised, hence the valve is positioned correctly
  12. HAHAHAHAHA led wheelnuts, multiple wings, stupid rear bar, oh my sides :jamie: teddy you've outdone yourself this time
  13. it sounds like maybe the metal of the latch is rubbing or it could be the hinge is a bit loose? you also might want to check your panel gaps, just to make sure the bootlid is not rubbing on the body if indeed it is the bootlid, you could adjust the latch down, to pull the lid closer to the rubber seal when it's closed. or get a thicker generic boot seal, you'll probably have to slam the boot every time you close it, but it won't move i would use silicon spray instead of wd40. less of a smell, less messy residue. if that makes the squeaking stop temporarily, then greasing the component (with wheel bearing grease or vaseline or something of similar consistency) would offer a longer term fix. but may be a bit messy i spose as a final troubleshooting measure, you could take the hinges and bootlid and torsions and latch out altogether and see if the squeaking remains, perhaps it's none of those things i had a boot squeak and it ended up being the small captive nut at the bottom of the spare wheel well. i never used the original wheel holddown because it didn't fit the wheel i had in there at the time. i simply put a bolt into the captive nut and tightened it down and it was fine boot squeaks are so hard to find, as stupid as it sounds (and dangerous and illegal), you might end up having to drive around with a mate in the boot and a mechanic's stethoscope good luck!
  14. that is excellent, thanks so much for the pics ;) i've dropped the crossmember instead of taking the engine out before, i ended up wishing i'd just taken the motor out. don't forget to book a wheel alignent, you'll have slightly changed the geometry of the front end, tho perhaps not enough to matter? i've never seen a single row timing chain before. at first glance i was like "f@$k it's only half there!!!" lol top effort with all photos and finding your problem, that's what it's all about :jamie:
  15. hahaha you stayed up all night for that? methinks you have a rollaclub addiction :jamie:
  16. no, that's a k engine thing, they all are like that under ideal tune. comes from the design of the 30-odd yearold piston-bore clearances i think. run a really rich idle and it goes away, but you use more fuel
  17. i wouldnt have the secondaries open all the time, you'll just use heaps of fuel. ditto for making the carb a double pumper. i'm talking like more than 20L/100km the pcv valve is the rearmost post on the rocker cover. it allows the flow of crankcase vapor FROM the engine TO the inlet manifold under high vacuum conditions. under low vacuum (wide open throttle) the valve closes so the engin gets cleaner air when it needs it connector is probably brake fluid sensor, perhaps that part is from a ke55, they have a light for that in the dash. ke 30 doesn't. my panelvan is the other way round, ke30 brakes and loom, ke55 dash, the brake fluid light stays on all the time :jamie:
  18. HOLY CRAP OH MY GOD HOW GOOD WAS THAT LAST CORNER!?!?! YOU ALL NEED TO DOWNLOAD AND WATCH THIS VIDEO RIGHT NOW!!!111one!!!
  19. i thought it was rather fast actually. certainly feels faster than 60k-to-70k
  20. lol, all those hardcore brisbane OGs blastin on each other, on the southside yo'
  21. to me, they were referring more to its' reputation as a common plain slow small car. sure, i love the damn things, but they're not exactly a rare or exotic performance car by any means it's a saying that's pretty open to interpretation. it means what you want it to mean, like art :(
  22. holy crap. has anyone else noticed that if you make a post, then remember something and make a post straight away again, it adds the second post to your previous post? that's cool, anti-postwhore forum software :(
  23. downdrafts and sidedrafts work on venturis and jets to meter fuel based on air vacuum conditions an SU has a sliding piston which effectively changes the venturi size, and as the pistons moves, it moves a tapered needle in and out of a jet to meter fuel personally i consider SUs superior in every way to downdrafts and sidedrafts
  24. i probably wouldn't see a neuromancer movie. it's my favorite book in the whole wide world, i own 3 copies of it and i've read it so many times, anyone who made a movie of it would just rape it in my eyes william gibson has said chris cunningham is the only person he'd trust to make a movie in the same vain as the book. this from william gibson aleph webpage: hackers was a good movie, was it a book too? we should have a cyberpunk/po-mo book thread :(
  25. 04 gsxr1100 gets my vote :(
