  1. what he said ^ :D
  2. ta22 has the same rear track as ke3x/5x te72 has same rear track as your ke70
  3. sonic alarm
  4. what engine is this on? if it's a K engine, how did you mount the blower and what are you using for a pulley? using a turbo saab carby, very good idea, i'd never thought of that :D you know everyone is going to ask for pics :D
  5. not quite, but full marks for noticing there are two different types of aisan carbs K and 3K carbs have 27/27mm throats 4K carbs have 27/32mm throats, but vac sec bigport manifolds are only 3k-sized, but you could hog one out to suit a 4k carb if you wanted
  6. singlecarbs are all the same size, it's the manifold runners that are different. all manifold bolt across all heads
  7. this one time i was on absinthe and went down a set of stairs headfirst yelling "whee i'm a fish" :jamie:
  8. stock geometry is generally pretty good for minimal sideloading of valves increase valvelift 1.5mm, shave the rocker posts 1.5mm as well i don't think shaving the head would make any difference, that changes the angle and height that the pushrods intersect the rockers, not the angle the rockers wipe the head of the valve
  9. a dude i knew when i was 17 was a big druggo. he told me about this one night he was doing bucket bongs with an old dude, and had taken a few trips. suddenly the old guy starts coming onto him, so he's done a runner and is driving home. he said he came over the bridge next to pacific fair then *boom* cartoon land! big happy yellow sun and flowers and everything, like a kids drawing. and he drove home like that :jamie:
  10. oh of course. the 4 was the first model of that shape, it had all the problems and is worth the least i just meant looks :jamie:
  11. yeah, the bosch ones don't seem to like >6000rpm densos will sit on 9 grand all day, but a big amp denso is like $150+, as opposed to 50 bucks or less for a falcon part
  12. yes, we are talking about the same thing
  13. hahaha that's actually not bad for a pisstake :jamie: i can't believe nobody has done a shorty of your van yet, it's such a good pic for it!
  14. lol. a 60A xf falcon alternator fits into a corolla bosch housing, you just need longer stator bolts, and a few washers in the bracket to compensate for the extra length. use a sigma alternator pulley to underdrive if you're pulling big revs
  15. i agree with this. i can handle a rear wheel car when the ass steps out, it's not that hard, and i'm not any kind of special driver at all. oversteer in a front driver is just scary
  16. nick's right. look at the sticker price of new (decent, ie: not a falcodore) FR cars today. an mx5 is the cheapest, shittest thing you can buy, and they start at 40k, ranging up to 50. an is200 is just under 50. the lowest spec rx8 is about 55, ranging up to 65. 350s start at over 60. have you looked into S2000s lately? they're over 70 grand! it sucks but that's the way of new cars these days, lame lame lame
  17. holy crap
  18. spamwhore ;) :jamie:
  19. does the K driven plate line up with the friction surface on the 3K pressure plate and flywheel? i thought they were different diameters
  20. lockers snap axles, if you don't want to snap axles, don't put a locker in. simple
  21. yeah, you'd need to be fairly accurate so you don't put the pulley out of balance. i'd be paying a fabricator or machine shop to do it for you
  22. despite the fact v8 supercar racing is a farce as you describe, research shows the results on the racetrack still do have a noticeable effect on showroom sales. aussie bogans are dumber than we think
  23. oh, i thought you were down here in australia! lol
  24. by "turned" i guess you mean balanced? if you're spending the money on a 3k flywheel, get a 4k one from the wreckers, they're lighter. i had my 4k flywheel lightened to 8kg, and i like the quicker engine response and revs. a modified K engine is plenty torqey enough to pull a little ke1x or 2x up a hill
  25. the carburettor is too big for the engine
