  1. could be any of them really. pull it out and have a look. the cable is a 5 minute job, the speedo gear on the gearbox is too, and the dash cluster is a 10 minute job.
  2. and more importantly, "will it bolt straight in?" :(
  3. haha 10 pound, the poor old stock 3k's not going to last long with that
  4. not sure if you people are aware, but of recent times in england, there are calls for HOODIES to be banned! there seems to be some public opinion that hooded jumpers are clothing associated with criminals and criminal activity, and it's now gotten to the stage where if you're at a shopping center or nightclub and wearing a hoodie, you will be ejected from the premesis. no shit! i personally think that's disgusting. to classify someone as a criminal, simply because of the item of clothing they wear. what's next? everyone who wears a hijab (the head and facial covering of the muslim religion) is instantly a terrorist? i'd like to see them try that. i mean, for christs sake, england is sposed to be one of the main countries in the world fighting FOR freedom, not blatantly stereotyping its' citizens because of the clothing they wear, and besides which, it's cold over there! at the forefront of fighting this ridiculous travesty of civil liberties is a young female hiphop artist going by the moniker of lady sovereign. you can listen to 2 minutes of her hoodie song for free on her website, or you can find radio rip mp3s on limewire. the single gets released november 21st. she's pretty cute too there's also another website over at save the hoodie .com where you can sign a petition if you like, and read about an amusing history of hoods, and look at pictures of people wearing hoodies, even get hoodie style tips check it out. fight the good fight!
  5. i got it :) haha some people in rural nsw want to abolish daylight savings, saying it causes "health problems". i agree, it's irritating changing your body clock an hour. however i have been offered the chance to start and finish work an hour later if i like... :(
  6. where the hell is : wink : ? i'll remove them all and clean them up sometime. it's on my to-do list :(
  7. people have stooped to lower tricks to win the bag of minties (haven't they scott!?!?!? :()
  8. for those of you not aware, the DOOM MOVIE is out now doom is, oh you know, only my favorite game. EVER! i can finish it all the way thru on the hardest difficulty and not die once :( going with my other doom nerd friend tomorrow night, will let you know how it is. now i can't read this topic until then incase somebody posts spoilers :)
  9. as IF :( actually the song "liberate" is the only reason the album rocks, the rest is pretty samey what you reckon of "ten thousand fists"? i'm over it, too.. background noisey. glad i didn't buy it
  10. get disturbed's "believe" album, i think it's better than the sickness actually just rape my computer for mp3s next time you're over
  11. it's ok, i don't really want them anyway :) buy me a big fatass jar of nutella instead :(
  12. it kinda did hey i still haven't got my friggin pack of smarties from the last one :(
  13. have just ditched cds and gone back to triple j actually, after a long long time of hating them. they're playing decent stuff again, i'm surprised was thinking of buying the butterfingers cd
  14. yeah i understand why :) mmm black simple spokes, very nice :(
  15. the faq is also once again called "wiki" up the top bar ^
  16. i have an interesting one. fast reply works on my home pc (xp sp2, firefox 1.5b2) , but not work pc (win2k sp4, firefox 1.5b2) guided mode isn't working, another js error i believe
  17. are you after chassis codes such as ke10, ae92, etc? or trim models such as CS, XX, CSi and Ultima? if the former, there exist rwd and fwd corolla history sections on jonny's webpage http://www.geocities.com/jonnyr_1973/
  18. you probably put a dished piston head (with long reach spark plugs) onto a flat top block. much like the guy who put a flattop 3k head onto a dished piston 4k bottom end then wondered why his car ran like a lawnmower. :( pay attention to what you're doing, think about it, and if in doubt measure! a syringe costs you 4 bucks at the chemist, it's accurate enough for backyard stuff like this rocker posts ARE different, in that early 3k rockers have alloy posts, later 4k rockers have cast iron posts, but they both place the shaft in the same position, so the difference doesn't really matter. you could theoretically mix and match alloy/iron posts if you wanted to. the iron posts are the better to use, as they don't expand as much as the alloy ones under heat (hence making valve clearances unreliable) extractors are dependant on vehicle, not engine/head. ke10/20 extractors won't fit a ke30/55 as the floorpan is different. likewise for ke70 extractors, which have a different floorpan again ALL THIS ASIDE, 3k valve gear is shit and prone to leaking oil down the stems, and the older the head, the more likely it is to either have internal corrosion in the water jackets, or crack when placed under extreme running conditions (such as the extra heat of high compression). i would much rather just take your existing 4k head into an engine builder and get them to skim it for 50 or 60 bucks then bolt it back on
  19. lol that's irony, actually wanting big heavy wheels to slow your car down :) i'm sure whatever you choose will be in good taste, got any ideas as to what you'll pick? keep us posted :(
  20. ouch
  21. not if it was on a K engine, the exhaust manifold would heat the inlet charge. middle top perhaps
  22. didn't watch the whole thing, but one of the comments is right, you just don't modify a car and not carry a fire extinguisher. even so, it would suck to have ones' car burn down, i feel for the guy i believe that a proper extinguisher and a reflective triangle should be legal requirements in a car, and they should be checked yearly in every state. along with a goddamn dustpan and brush, as it's illegal to leave your taillight and window glass laying all over the road after a crash, yet it happens time and time again
  23. even if you make the inlet at the front, it will be fine. there are plenty of factory setups like this. as long as you make the inlet pipe big enough, you won't be starving the engine of air anywhere
  24. no, 2L efi camiras really do totally chop. i have no idea how much power they have, but they can bag up second gear in the wet at any time. a mate of mine had one with some really crap tyres and he took it to the hillclimbs, it oversteered more than some rwd cars, certainly more than my ke25 did
  25. matt once got asked to move his bmw ke70!!!
