  1. Even my missus calls them "sex on wheels"!!! :)
  2. T'wasn't me, but I told you in that PM who would probably win and did!! :) Another melbourne member has said they can pick it up, but we'll let you know if there any issues mate!
  3. Probably the one that was on ebay nearly a year ago I reckon! :)
  4. Yeah that was more of a person preference statement than anything. Don't get me wrong I'd drive one, if it was my missus' car! I just wouldn't buy one for myself. Rather drive the '55! 8| How good would it have been though if they had of kept cars like corolla and celica etc rwd like ke's! :hmm:
  5. fixed 8|
  6. Something like this..... Main difference is the flow out of the flange, gas sorta colide and have to make a 90o turn to get out of the flange. Were as with mine the all flow into the flange.
  7. Could always just make a log style manifold Nic! Wouldn't flow as good as that one obviously, but would still be better than the ke70 mani and J. 8| Do you know what I mean? Can do you a quick paint pic!
  8. Nah, thats on the back burner now, have a K-T50 now too which I reckon I'll use in this car instead. Anything in particular you want to know about it?
  9. No experience with them, but they're all available for Hilux's aswell as just the stock LSD's. Have a look on some 4x4 forums to find some after market spools and air lockers etc.<there's an option, weldy at the flick of a switch!!! 8|
  10. Well if it's a hilux diff, IMPO your carzy not to save up for an LSD as they are available. If it was just a stock ke diff, yeah weld it as there is no LSD you can use, but since you have the option I think you should use it. LSD has all of the good points of a weldy, but none of the bad points!! Another thing to bare in my is the stress a weldy put back down the drive train. I f@$ked a couple of GB's in the turbo car, not by the added power, but the fact that the weldy was stressing them. Another point I may make is the fact that you'll probably get sick of pretty quick. Yeah it's good be able to dump the clutch and know you'll cut twins, but the rest of the time when you wanna just drive the car normally, they're frankly a pain in the arse! And that's the reason only 1 of my 3 cars now has a weldys in them. [/rant] 8|
  11. Yeah and put the drive through the wrong end of the car!! 8|
  12. Yeah mate, think it was sorta un-avoidable with the space there is to play with. Somewere was gunna get hot. Theres just enough room between to 2 to get some sort of heat sheild in there. Not heat wrapping the ex mani, might get it HPC coated eventually. Brad a fun couple of days trying to compromise between all issues like keeping the oil drain high enough, making the gate actuator fit, dump pipe fit, keep away from that engine mount etc.
  13. Yeah plate in the spider gear windows is a good idea, EXCEPT my weld broke and instead of it jamming back in the spider gears it jammed between the CW and pinion!!! 8| And you do know they're illegal yeah?
  14. One day Cam, one day!! Reckon a 5kzc is the go too. Stock cam, just go for torque. 8|
  15. no. I want to build a ke38 with a k motor, w50 and sierra transfer case and diffs. 8| The w50 I have is out of a RA40 celica.
  16.
  17. Basically just the out of the turbo. Th 90o bend that bolts onto these turbo (as apposed to a push on hose like a radiator) is commonly refer to as a "hot-pipe". This bit..... http://cgi.ebay.com.au/GARRETT-T25-T28-OUT...1QQcmdZViewItem
  18. Dunno if it will really be necessary with the Mandrel steam pipe. I know that can happen easy with stainless steel mani's. Its coming home tonight, so I'll get more pics, but it's built bloody well, reckon it should be right without a brace. I'll ask the guy who built it if he reckons I'll need one, but I doubt it. Actually, looking at that pic again, maybe I could put one off the turbo to the inlet, from were the hot pipe bolts one to the 2 bolts you can see that hold the lower and upper inlets together.
  19. It relatively easy to find a K-W bell!
  20. yeah thats not the greatest pic, its close, but there is room. Probably cut away a little bit of engine mount and put a gusset in.
  21. wait no longer, got my cable. More to come tomoz.
  22. Actaully I've got a K40 in bits I can take some pics of if people want to know how gearboxs actually work!?
  23. It pretty much is the cool noise! When you see a big blown V8 with a whine as it lumps over, it not the charger itself your hearing,...its the 3 inch gilmer drive belt infront of it!
  24. Just went and had a look at the new finished manifold!!! Looks sexy. Its staying there tonight to get the dump pipe modded tomoz as the ex housing has been slightly rotated. Got a pic, but you'll have to wait until I get back to my own laptop in the morning for that. :(
  25. http://youtube.com/watch?v=Fgy9vc4rf90 Heres a good example of the noise, mind you this is a very close ratio box. This is actually an awesome vid, this guy can drive!!! and yes...the are geminis! well opel cadets anyway.
