This one has a cooler! :lolcry: Just saw it and thought I might post if for you PR/USA boys, just incase you have never see/heard of the QSR quad bmw.

Hey Mick, those bushes I got off you, the sway bar ones, are they for the back or front? I haven't had a real good look yet, but I noticed they didn't look right for the back. Just noticed in the pic above of your coilovers that they look like those one! Edit: :lolcry: I'm guessing they are the front ones, as you don't have a rear sway bar!!

Making a manifold! :lolcry: Can't see that being vey cheap! This is for the 2t right? isn't there an EFI manifold you can use that would bolt straight up that you could get for >$250-300!? Cause I can't see a custom one being any cheaper!

Looking a bid les skanky with some new shoes. These have the Advan A032R's on them now! :lolcry:

I've got a set of wagon locks at home Geoff, only diff from the sedan is the tailgate one is a button aswell. I've just bought another new set, so I don't need these.......hang on, you weren't bidding on ebay on some locks the other night were you? fordvanman80 or something!? Think I might even have the matching ignition barrel with the wagon locks! I'll have a look when I get home and let you know! :hmm: ~ BTW - :lolcry: at the 10/10 tune
-
Yeah pretty much none of the 6/7/8 second rotaries in the world use coolers. If they do then its a barrel cooler filled with dry ice! Yeah lag has a fair bit to do with it, but really for 7 second, if its tuned nice you can do without one.
-
Yeah Matty. Don't think there was too many other peolpe in town that would attempt it! :lolcry: I'm really happy with it though!

Yeah its the VNT turbo ute. Getting boost was just the first part, and him and me are very grateful for your help on that. When I worte in that thread "car is now running steady 5psi thanks to info provided by madrolla68" I thought it was all good. Since found out, the mechanic was getting boost then backing off, and it was still far from sorted. What we have been doing lately, is holding in the boost and getting the fuel side of things sorted. When I took those pics, it was still running a stock fuel pump, so boost didn't last longer than 5 seconds. I actually gave him my old carter black, that I had in before the lift pump/surge/vl pump, so that sorted fuel pressure. Vacuum/boost leaks have been the flavour of the week now. On monday you could block the inlet of the turbo and thing kept running it had so many leaks!!!! Now it stalls in 3 seconds. Boost is now in the range of 12-15psi!! :hmm: Hopefully tonight it will be running 100% once we replace the set of points that now has a hole burnt in them!! :lolcry: Might have to take a vid of 2 of it if we get it all sorted. Haven't mentioned anything yet, but if I was to get some tunes off you I wanna send you some money for a carton of your favourite bevvies or something!! Hey actually, what if I just buy and send you one of those oil cooler adapters to show my appreciation!!??

Engine compression - 190psi and the CR - 11:1 are 2 different things. CR is worked out by volume at (Bottom dead centre) devided by volume BDC TDC (top dead centre). For example if 1 cylinder @ BDC holds 110cc and then at TDC its capacity is 10cc.....110/10=11 ie, 11:1 CR :lolcry: This never changes. 11:1 is getting up there, but not stupidly high. You wouldn't put a turbo or SC on this motor. Engine compression basically just tells you how good your piston rings and valve seals etc are. The more they leak, the lower the compression will go. Oh and 190psi is pretty good! Power for that setup would be around 50rwkw.

Mate for $1750 it not a bad buy. here's a quick run down if you were to buy all this stuff as seperate parts: Car itself, if no rust <$500 Rebuilt 5k with new pistons balanced crank etc <$500 twin WEBERS (not delortos or solexs!) <$500 Electronic Dizzy $150 Extractors $200 Exhaust $150 Modded radiator <$100 Springs $100 Hot wires $200 5 speed $150 Spare 5k (provided its still in good condition) $200 Spare 5 speed $150 So even if you were to buy it and wreck it at these prices (which I don't think are un-reasonable) then there is nearly $3000 worth of parts!!! Does that help!!? :lolcry: :hmm:

Last nights aquisition!!!! Very happy, 3D V4, brand new in the box, never used, complete loom and sensors for the modest price of $300!!! :lolcry: I only got it at that price as I have been helping out the guy with that little turbo'd 1000 ute heaps in the last couple of weeks. I've been learning heaps doing it, so I'm happy, but he wanted to repay me with a cheap ECU, so I'm even more happy!! :hmm:

Good to hear. :lolcry:

Mate, like irokin said, do some serious research so you don't make yourself look like a tool again. I ran 20psi on a j pipe.....but I doubt it was far off melting and dripping from the manifold!!! :lolcry: :hmm: If you wanna run serious boost, get a decent manifold made like my new one. What fuel injection do you plan on running!? :hmm: And how are you going to drop the CR!? :sob:

How Bulletproof Is A Stadard Ke20 Gearbox?
Taz_Rx replied to Doogs's topic in KExx Corolla Discussion
There is no bolt in LSD for a corolla, until you get to ae86's, so get that out of your head. The $250 one in Melbourne are just thick plates and springs that push on the splined spider gears. Very much a "poor man's LSD" but they sorta work. If you want a proper clutch pack of torsen LSD then you have to change the whole diff, to something like a hilux and skyline diff. -
Always see this thing parked out the front of the HGCL. Now I have a camera in my phone so here it is!! One of the neatest rollas I've ever seen. And its a genuine granny car! (well she's at least 50) Somebody might get it cheap if you ask!!
-
Reckon you'd pay a bit more than $10 for a new one. If you coming to Launy today, drop in to S&D automotive (Steven Bell) and he's got heaps of falcon webers for spares! See if he'll sell you one out of those. :)

Looks like a good car soccer car to me!!! ;) Wanna get a group of guys together soon with shitters in a paddock and have a bit of fun! You in Nick? for anybody who doesn't know what I'm on about..... http://youtube.com/watch?v=BaIl9rau2Zk :)

Needle and seats in all of the small down draft webers are interchangable Aaron!! So just get another one from any escort/cortina/falcon/alfa/fiat weber and your set. May be just handy to know to borrow one and diagnose the problem! If you don't know anybody close that has one you can borrow mine!! :)

This is sorta the same as your motor isn't it?

Wrong link tag buddy. Photobucket is weird! If you do it properly you should have a picture of the start of the video to click on, it'll have like film dots along the side. :)
-
Are they 2T or 3T? Why don't you guys use say 2TG's? Wow, just noticed those last 2 are still using DCOE's not EFI!! :)

Yeah think I've done pretty well with my little collection. Not cheap though, I paid $450 for that K-T50!!
